If you're new to Kubernetes, Services can be one of the most important concepts to understand. In this 15-minute video, we'll give you a crash course on Kubernetes Services and show you how they can help you manage microservices in a Kubernetes cluster. We'll cover the basics of Kubernetes Services, including how to create them, how to map them to pods, and how to use them to manage traffic and load balancing. We'll also discuss different types of Kubernetes Services, including ClusterIP, NodePort, and LoadBalancer, and show you how to choose the right type for your needs. By the end of the video, you'll have a good understanding of Kubernetes Services and be ready to start using them to manage your microservices. Whether you're a developer, sysadmin, or IT professional, this video is for you.

Those new to the Programming and DevOps world often find it challenging to start their journey due to the missing basic prerequisites. For example, issues with setting up a basic lab environment using VirtualBox, problems with networking, or trouble with working with the Linux CLI or text editors like vi editor. Sometimes there are issues with applications - like getting a sample application to work, problems with getting the dependencies to install correctly or trouble with getting a web server to communicate with a database server. Or, at other times, it's working with data formats like JSON or YAML.
So we have identified a gap, and we believe that this is due to missing some of the basic prerequisites, such as knowing the basics of Linux, the basics of tools like VirtualBox, or knowing the basics of the most commonly used applications like Java, Python or NodeJS or web servers like Apache, NGINX etc. As a DevOps or Cloud Engineer, it is crucial to have these basics cleared. And that’s why we are helping you to bridge that gap!

I have never commented on any TH-cam video before but this deserves it. The reason you stand out is because your explanation is absolutely clear and easy to understand, you don't use "Jargon" like others do. Kudos for that. Lastly, keep them coming and thank you for this piece! Cheers!

Excellent diagrams and really clearly explained! The main missing piece for an overview is to cover how traffic is distributed for a LoadBalancer type Service. This is an area I really struggled with when trying to wrap my head around k8s networking and the lack of clarity in documentation and instructional videos was a source of frustration for me. (I'm sorry to say your video would also have frustrated me if I didn't already know how it worked, because a) it's so wonderfully produced and b) you tease us at 4:41 by saying you're going to talk about each of the Service types in detail, and then proceed to talk about *only* NodePort. :))
Edit: ah, I just realized this is a snippet from a larger course. Perhaps that does fill in the gaps I mentioned?

    Great video.
    I have one question, though.
If you are doing this on the cloud, how do you know any of the node IP addresses? Won't they be different, depending on what server they are instantiated on? If you are constantly scaling and taking down services that are no longer functioning, the IP address would be very dynamic.
Do you look it up on a service directory?
