I assume you are saying Tiger was better. Jack has 18 Majors and 19 second place in Majors.I think Tiger had more talent, but he is second best of all time.
Bud Fox you follow golf at all? Many many people believe Tiger was the better golfer. If you feel I’m unique in this regard, you should look into it. I’m not gonna try to convince you buddy.
Surprises me to hear Mr Nicklaus advocate for dialing down the ball to reign in the distance of today’s pros when much of his success initially can be attributed to how much farther past his peers he smashed the ball. Like TW did, like we’re seeing DeSham do, Mr Nicklaus too changed the game with his length. How awe-struck and humbled you must be to get that time with Mr Nicklaus. Very nice Riggs.
It's not surprising and it makes perfect sense. It isn't to stop people having a length advantage- the biggest hitters will still be knocking it past everyone else if the ball was reigned in. It's to save courses from becoming pitch and putts and make them have to be played as they were originally intended.
This was fantastic! I always love listening to Jack Nicklaus talk about golf. He’s one of the great minds in the game, and what a legend! Wow, 29 times he finished either second or third in the majors, to go with his 18 wins? Unbelievable!!
'If' Tiger does break Jacks record I only hope Jack is still around to see it happen! btw good interview, great questions and i liked the respect given.
I played a set of 1980s Wilson muscle backs that I still hit occassionaly and cavity back Hogans for years. When I made the switch to the modern Callaways I flew every green for weeks. I shouldnt be hitting a "6 iron" 190 but it feels good lol. The lofts and shaft lengths arent even close to what they used to be, it's a good 2 clubs difference. I can only imagine the old balatas.
The reason for this is that they are generally playing difficult course layouts on high slope courses, often in difficult conditions. The rounds they are carding for handicap purposes will be played from standard mens tees on muni style courses.
@@OneBigMobb also for whatever reason people that are so obsessed with their handicaps don't seem to understand that your handicap isn't your average number of shots over par, it's supposed to be the best score you're theoretically capable of posting once every 8 rounds or so
i would love to see modern technology create exact woods (not metal) and irons from 1965 with the modern ball that resembled a ball from 1965.... shorten a course by 50 yards a hole and have the players play a "for t.v. ratings" tournament in the wintertime off season. just like the skins games did for t.v. ratings 40 years ago. have some of the old time greats like jack, lee trevino, raymond floyd and tom watson ride along as "coaches" for each 3 some. play it as a team event. 3 day tournament with first day best ball, second day a scramble and third day all 3 scores count towards the total. man o man would i love that!! huge... i mean HUGE bonanza for golf.
I hate all this talk about the ball. Guys these days still shape shots if not more than they used too. I don’t get how it would be better to watch them downgrade balls and lower the quality of play for everybody.
Theres no way they can change a ball. The only thing they can do at this point is not let the technology get ang better and limit it to what it is. So many golf balls have been sold if they changed it so that people couldnt use those balls anymore would be a catastrophe to golf ball conpanys like bridgestone and titliest
As much as people deny it, it is really hard to compare 2 different eras of golf. Of course it is probably a lot more fun to watch Tiger play. But with the disadvantages Jack had, he absolutely crushed it. That’s like talking shit about Babe Ruth in comparison to Hank Aaron.
@@mikec260 what disadvantages did Jack have in your opinion? I firmly believe tiger is the goat...but I definitely do not try to downplay what jack did or has done. My biggest issue in terms of comparing them is the strength of field. I think it was easier to climb a leaderboard or finish high on a leaderboard in years past, because of a lack of top tier talent. Cheers
Almost no one wants to dial back anything! It’s only the old timers for the most part that want to see that. If they dial the ball or equipment back, they will lose a ton of viewership, especially from the younger viewers. I’m not young by any means. I’m 40, I watched the old timers and the present day golfers. Watching the present guys play is much more enjoyable!
Excellent interview riggsy, i will shed a tear when we lose Jack, a True OG of the game.
Jeez dude did you order his tombstone? He is only 80 years old and sharp as a tack still. He is on the 16th tee box not the 18th green.
Yea man great job interviewing, what an honor. Really professional job, love all the perspective you were able to get out of Jack.
Jack is always a class act. A real gentleman.
Riggs, great job getting an interview with the GOAT.

Second best player to ever live, but you were close to getting it right. Good job. 👊🏻

Crushed that interview. Love how confident he is in himself. GOAT
Jack is a no bullshit kind of guy. Well done letting him talk and not interrupting.
That was a great interview, job well done. Very classy and done with the upmost respect.
Absolute legend and all class!! Love the bear!!!!
Great interview with the greatest golfer who ever lived. “He plays a game with which I am not familiar” Bobby Jones on Nicklaus
Awesome intervies Riggs, got some great conversation going with Jack.

well done riggs and thanks for the time mr nicklaus
Thanks for this! Loved it❣️
You can tell he still has a lot of pride in his game. Not that he was defensive, but he knows what he was capable of and is currently capable of
Love for Riggs. This interview was so well done. Great great job. Thanks so much for what Barstool and you all do. It means a lot.
Great interview, great job. Absolutely loved it. 🍺🍺🍺
Can we talk about how smart Jack is? Like truly intelligent, its impressive how much he knows about everyone else.

nice interview riggs, i would have been stumbling all over my words talking to a guy like Jack lol
holy shit! the golden bear!
Wonder what the nerves are like going in to interviewing Jack in a sit down, one on one. It’s gotta be insane.
I could listen to Jack talk all day I bet when Riggs and then started foreplay they never thought they would be talking to a real legend
Yes! Second greatest golfer to ever hit a five iron. Unbelievable lucky break for Riggs
National treasure. This never gets old.
Kudos Riggs.. great interview!
Mr. Jack Nicklaus "The GOAT"!!!!
Have to enjoy these interviews with Jack, I miss Arnie.
Awesome Interview
Love ur work Please take your hat off indoors and when speaking to a legend
Amazing interview 👍👍 thanks👏👏
Well done Riggs!
Great Job with this one Riggs, was awesome to watch. I assume Tiger is up next right????😉🐅
Wells done lads keep it up u deserve more subs
Good job man, you could tell that Nicklaus liked you.
The *actual* GOAT.
I for one have NEVER seen documented evidence of the “couple guys that are around 6 handicap” in the 4 foreplay group....
Riggs has shot his handicap the EXACT amount of times Trent has shot under par. Never.

It’s just ego, there are a lot of people in golf who think they are about 10 handicap lower than they actually are.
What an amazing man

Why does Riggs look older than jack

Pretty sure Jack is going to live well into his 100's.
Makes you wonder how good Jack would've been if he had todays equipment in his prime. Probably would've won 40 majors lol.
Yep or 2000 Tiger with today’s equipment. Probably an insane amount

The tour will either make a tour ball...or have specs for all the ball companies to comply with on a tour ball
I would support this immediately too

Just be thankful he kept it on, in this case

What kind of ball you think Jack is playing today?
Thank God, bring back small wooden drivers. See who the real strikers are.
