Watching this video makes me remember the 80's and 90's when this aircraft dominated the short to medium haul market. I flew on it many times on my flights to and from Trinidad and Tobago I will never forget the smells, the sounds and instead of in flight entertainment, you had conversation with the passenger seated next to you. This makes me want to book a flight to any destination where this beautiful aircraft still flies before she's retired from service. Thanks for sharing!

I guess I'm an ol' spoilsport, but I just don't like the MD-80! Less than stellar experiences, I suppose. One particular trip to Atlanta from Memphis (or was it vice versa? ca. 1998), I was in a middle seat (wahhh I love windows) and practically had to sit sideways it was so cramped in there. Another time, upon arrival at the gate, the pilot announced that all continuing pax would deplane and other arrangements would be made, as "this plane's not going anywhere." It didn't affect me, as I had reached my destination, but I often wondered what went wrong during that flight. Whew! Yet another time, we had pressurization issues - not enough for the 02 to be engaged - but my face almost exploded with pain from within my sinuses. Ouch.
