No, he is struggling because of bat backlift which comes down in a spooning manner instead of coming down straight. It may not be a problem if you are playing in subcontinent pitches, but on faster tracks like Australia, Nzl, South Africa it is a big weakness. He can work on it and make a comeback soon.

Whether we win or lose the final, we've found some serious talent in our grass roots cricket. Now these guys need to go play first class. I would recommend the BCCI to send some of these players to play county cricket in England during the summer. That's where they will grow even more. Dravid,Tendulkar,Zaheer,Laxman,Ganguly and many others credited county cricket for their success. Even Ashwin credited it in recent times.
