Thank you for the instruction, and thanks for keeping it real! I loved your daughter photo bombing the beginning of the video and seeing your stool slip out from under your feet; both things I've actually experienced! The steering shaft made all the difference for me (2013 4x4 Avalanche). If I had done that in the beginning, I think I could have shaved off an hour or more from this job. Thanks again!

Just wanted to thank you for the video. Changed my LH mount in about 2hrs and lots of water in the Texas heat! Only thing I did different was to remove the steering shaft first and didn’t have to remove the support beam. Just carefully jacked the engine behind it. Otherwise, went step by step with your video.

Great video man!! Doing this project today!!! Although I'm putting new poly mounts from Atomic Fabrication & Performance, if anyone is looking for GREAT quality mounts and MADE IN THE USA (Alabama), take a look at this guys product! Its a little more then other options, but the quality by far is better then anything I have seen, TBD how they perform but I'm confident they will!

For anyone struggling with this, I had good success with these instructions except that I was unable to remove the steering shaft. Here's what I did:
    -Disconnect negative terminal on battery.
    -Disconnect alternator.
-Disconnect wire harness guide attached near alternator.
    -Disconnect engine coolant sensor.
-Detach the power steering/alternator aluminum plate modular assembly by removing the 4 front bolts, and one bolt from the power-steering bracket.
(You should be able to maneuver this assembly up and out of the way by resting it on the optional second battery tray.)
-At this point, you'll be a lot more free to get to the first three bolts.
*I used a combination of two 3-in extensions, two 6-inch extensions, one universal joint socket adapter, and a standard depth 15mm socket. A breaker bar also helps a lot here. *
-Remove driver-front wheel with car on low jackstand under frame rail.
-Jack up the engine from the corner of the catalytic converter.
Now. All four block bolts should be relatively easy to get to from the wheel well with the right combination of extensions and the universal joint socket adapter. The only exception will be the bottom left, and I recommend coming in from under the front and using a 3-in extension (no universal) for that one.
    - Roll the mount to free it, then pull it forward, past the steering shaft and out where the power steering pump normally goes.
Repeat in reverse to mount the new one. Good luck! It took me about 4 hours of actual working time to get it done.

There are way easier ways to take this out and the motor mounts are $60 new for a pair with the heat shield and the passenger side u will have to remove the wheel and wheel cover best way I've changed like over 100 of these takes you about 3 hrs experienced inexperienced like 4 to 5 hrs if u take that cross bar out you can definitely take it out thru the bottom without removing the steering wheel column

    • @CHIRAQSAVAG3
      @CHIRAQSAVAG3 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@curtboxley7678 yeah bro jack it up , and remove the passenger tire and remove the wheel cover only if u want extra room once lifted you should a clear and ez shot to remove it. Way more room on that side. Trick if u have an extra jack or a jack stand make it a little easier all u do is jack it place your jack stand and break your bolts loose on the mount and remove them , then place your under the motor find a small piece of wood like 5 to 8 inches could be a piece of 2x4 and place it on the jack where u will lift the motor only a tad bit the is so u don't damage anything just to be safe, but u will literally lift it a tad bit u will see how ez it will be to put the new one in with no problem bro one hand threaded lower the jack slightly just to for support now and tighten your bolts and you should be good to go. It's super easy bro save your money and do it yourself is the smart move 👌🏼 and if you do find yourself lost or confused theirs a few videos out there just find the ones where they remove the passenger tire gives u a straight clean shot too it bro , good luck and always be safe 🙏🏽💯
