@@djjimmyantinone3070 wow that might be true & it's the hardest way to sing. Whitney Houston had that talent also. No more true singers, just people willing to sell their soul & promote their producers agenda.
They don't make them like this anymore. talented , humble, natural grace, a true professional entertainer. She is very much missed. Gone way too soon. ❤️
A lot of people don't know that the reason she didn't fully return to music was she was taking care of her mother with dementia, they lived together up until Laura passed away. She didn't have time to fully commit to touring and recording again and really cared for her family, same with her husband who she cared for while he had cancer.
After attending a concert of hers back in 93, I waited along with her fans for an autograph after the show. She left with her band from another side exit and I spotted them leaving. I followed her back to the hotel where she was staying. By the time I went into the foyer the band had all disappeared to their rooms. I went into the restroom and as I came out into the lobby Laura walked past me. There were no other people around in the hotel at that time of night. I just stood there in shock. She must of realized that. She turned around on her heel and looked at me. She walked up to me, and said "You`re a singer right? I was in total awe.... I said, yes I am. She grabbed me by the hand, and pulled me closer to her, and she said. "I want you to promise me one thing, that you will never give up on your dreams'" I said I wont. She then bent forward and kissed me on the cheek. And with that, she walked off. I will never forget that night, as long as I live. She was an amazing person and performer. A fan forever!!
There will never be another Laura Branigan. My hero in the 80s growing up. "In the arm's of the Angel's beautiful Laura" sing with those beautiful Angels xx
That totally breaks my heart. I was a big fan of hers from the beginning. Back in the early 80's. She had a strong beautiful voice. When I found out she passed, I was heartbroken.
The 80's wouldn't be complete if Laura Branigan didn't come on the seen with her awesome voice and great music. She made the 80's better, thank you so much for sharing and giving all of us such great moments to remember.
I was only 8 years old when she passed away💔 I might sound like a selfish sob, but I’d give anything to have Laura back 😢 Her voice was amazing and idk.. how can you miss someone so much when you never even met them? I guess she succeeded in doing what she said wanted to do with her music, that being reaching into your soul and making you feel something. God bless her, truly a one of a kind talent and human being Laura Branigan was❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻 Her final performance is new to me. She’s one of my all time favorite female singers. All her songs, all her albums take me back to special times in my life. Saw her in concert twice. She held my hand during a performance in Westbury NY in 1988. I took a few photos that night. RIP Laura. Miss you so much. Thank you for the gift you left us with.❤️
Hi!! My friend was at the 1988 Westbury show, she's been trying to find pictures of the show for years, she actually met Laura outside after the show and Laura hugged and picked her up (she was just a kid at the time). She said people were taking pictures of them together but she never found any of them, do you remember if you stayed after the show too?
She will forever be one of my favorite singers of all time. I saw her in concert at the Fox Theater in St. Louis in the 80s. She was so energetic and engaging. Sultry and sweet. Funny and real. That voice gave me chills and still does. My friend Lon was an artist and had done a beautiful drawing and a couple paintings of her. She let us come onto her bus and she was so impressed with the drawing. Lon said she could have it if she wanted it and she was so appreciative. She gave us big hugs. She signed his paintings and told us she wanted us to come to a gathering she was having at her hotel. She treated us like we were her friends. So kind. She joked and danced with us. She would respond to letters and even sent Lon's family a gift when he passed.
Amazingly enough, she never lost her voice. Her voice never aged. I was surprised to her speaking voice is so soft and sweet ,and her singing voice was pretty strong.
My fondest birthday memories are at the age of 11, mum saying you can buy any cassette I bought Laura Brannigan- Self Control, Olivia Newton John- Physical, Billy Joel Uptown Girl, I was so happy, I’m 47 I still love & adore all artist ❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite singers! Was so in shock when I heard she'd left this world so soon. She'd taken a break from music to help care for her husband who had terminal colon cancer. Despite all that she'd gone through - she still sounds AMAZING!
I can't count how many times I've watched this since I found it. It makes me happy, and sad at the same time. Such a unique powerful voice. So many memories loving and singing so many of her songs❣ We remember you Laura. 👏🏻💗🙏🏻🎤🎶👍🏻
I love her, makes me sad and cry she's no longer with us. Never had the chance to see her live in concert, that makes it really hard for me. Rest in Peace, beautiful Laura branigan.
I love this song so much & I love Laura Branigan. I saw her in concert I was front row I saw her in Groton CT @ the sub base here in CT on July 4th 1990 & when she started singing “Gloria” she came off the stage & took my hand & brought me on stage with her & I sang Gloria with Laura Branigan herself & in front of the audience. I was 17 yrs old it was 1 of the coolest things I’ve ever done. To be on stage with an iconic singer like Laura Branigan & singing 1 of her all time hit songs.

I do not remember when I first heard "Self Control". But that song has stuck with me all my life. She has such a beautiful voice and in this song it is at times powerful and at times ethereal. The mood of the song gives me goosebumps honestly. I did not know of her passing and she was young still by today's standards. Bless you Laura, you brought happiness to so many and it seems you had a warm gentle soul. RIP. x
She had a great voice! There was an international, sophisticated quality to her voice that made me think she was British or European and yet she was American. I always listen to her hits when they come on the radio. I enjoy her voice so much! I’m not surprised she was popular in Italy or anywhere in Europe. She lives on through her music. I was quite sad to say the least, cried for a few minutes then listened to Forever Young and realized she died forever young! Read where she had had headaches for a few weeks and wished she had seen a doctor sooner!!! But she has her body of work left behind and no one can ever sing Gloria like she did!!!! Unique voice capable of hitting high notes with ease even all years later. . Beautiful lady with great talent, you will be missed greatly. Thank you for sharing this great performance with your followers using your real voice(not a fun) unlike some other performers . RIP
One of my favorite female vocalists of all time. Laura had the most unique voice and one that still cannot be matched. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform at the Warwick Musical Circus in Rhode Island in 1990. To see her perform live was quite the experience and one that I still remember 30 years later.
Wow, what a shock to see this, it hurts so much to know she's not with us anymore. She looked a little out of it in this footage but was still amazing, a more mature voice too. Gone way to soon! RIP Laura.
I loved her songs in the 80's when I was a teen and as an older person now I'm finding a renewed appreciation. I'm almost at the age that Laura passed away at now. So poignant that she was singing her cover of Alphaville's Forever Young at the end of this, just a month before she passed away.
Through this message I want to pay tribute to this singer with an incredible voice and to the courageous and hypersensitive woman that she was. Proud of her Irish origins, she was by nature cheerful, reckless and always kept within her an endearing shyness. Courageous in facing from 1995 onwards the illness of her husband suffering from colon cancer, unfortunately diagnosed too late. She would never accept the doctors' diagnosis and stop her career to take care of him. Adept at herbal treatments, she will use all her knowledge to alleviate her suffering and offer her a dignified end of life near her family. She will never be able to forget it because there was a true love between them: the one that lasts all life. This disappearance was for her a real tragedy, rare photos of this time show a woman devastated by pain. She had resumed her career in 2000 and was starting to do some concerts again. It was therapy for her to overcome her grief. She was always available and ready to devote time to fans for an autograph, a photo or to chat with them. Courageous to overcome a terrible accident in 2001 which will require long months of therapy. She had fallen from several meters which had caused a fracture of both shins. Finally brave to face the illness of her mother with Alzheimer's disease. Very close to her mother, especially since her husband's disappearance, she moved into their family home to take care of her. She protected him as her mother had done when her husband died. Her second passion, after singing, was cooking, which she considered to be an art. An accomplished cook, she made recipes and had participated in TV shows on the subject. His last concert went badly, a lot of technical and organizational problems. She was annoyed that she couldn't meet her fans as usual after the concert. You can see she was very tired in the video, she had lost a lot of weight. Despite this, she performed as usual of impeccable quality. Surely her mother's illness was the fight too many. Unfortunately, she was alone since her husband's disappearance, and her mother due to her illness, could no protect her. Many people took advantage of her, especially after her death. The supreme betrayal was the auction of his personal goods: furniture, clothes, personal and intimate documents,… There are still traces of this sale on the internet. At least that, she didn't see it. Now in heaven there is a singer with a bewitching voice who has found serenity and happiness surrounded by her husband, mother and perhaps some children. “Forever Young” Laura.
Good read steve Hary a can rememeber living in a bed sit down somerset and night after night came home to listen to lauras self control on cassette , amazing stunning voice and loved listening to ti amo , amazing lady to me who just wanted to sing , none of this todays rubbish of money , money money and prating about half naked , no doubt madonna , celine dion nowhere near her league but oh yes they got the money money , with a voice like she had she maybe could of gone on to alot of fame than already had but a wasnt sure whether she wanted that or looking after her husband and mother took its toll , to me laura branigan was a fantstic singer with a distinct voice who didnt want fame and fortune , yes you could see the shyness even in late life , sad to say this but am sure she died of broken heart , hope im wrong . sadly missed
Laura, your voice so powerful and full of emotion! I loved you without knowing you, how is it possible that you have left so soon leaving our hearts broken. That day was his last performance, who would say? I could never attend a concert of yours, I would have been the happiest man in the world. Although I knew you through Selfcontrol, it was listening to your 1984 concert in Salt Lake City where your voice captivated me forever. I will always love you Laura, I hope to find you in Heaven.
When I was 12 I got my first 45 single record and that was "Gloria" by Laura Branigan. Still have it til this day.....Also remember her being in an episode of CHPs where she was a lead singer of a band. Amazing what your mind chooses to remember. Loved her!
You could tell she was still so into performing, and it's a shame she never got the chance to release her album. Proud she made her [unexpected] final performance in Boston!
While outside of my genre & taste, her voice is a piece of my childhood that will never fall silent. " Self control " & "Gloria" the best IMO. Her voice powerful , real ,& never faltering....right to the end. God rest her soul.
A standout voice from my childhood in the UK , very sorry & sad to just hear of her passing now , I had no idea . R.I.P Laura & Thank you for the music 💐
Its the yearend of 2020 but im still singing the songs of my dear Laura. And this coming 2021 will still another year to do more collabs of Laura's music
Talented and lovely lady. She stepped back from her career to nurse her ill husband Larry until he died. Without that hiatus she would have been even more successful. It’s lovely to see her here in this video and how popular and loved she was by everyone.
@@LauraBraniganForever I was lucky enough to see her in the late 80' s at Westbury Music Fair. i thought what a beautiful lady she really is. Totally devastated when i learned of her unfortunate passing in 2004.
I attended her free concert at Point State Park Pittsburgh, PA July 4th 1985. It held the record for largest outdoor concert attended event for many years.

She was so beautiful & so nice !! & a one off a kind voice !! Rip Laura +
Her voice was still so extremely powerful! Wow that was amazing! Glad she got to have this moment.
She can still sing here but it is so sad to know that she was just a short time away from passing. So sad. I wish i could of at least met you once just to say "I am a big fan - it is so great to have met you".
Laura's voice was still strong and beautiful. Lovely lady
Unique voice capable of hitting high notes with ease even all years later. . Beautiful lady with great talent, you will be missed greatly. Thank you for sharing this great performance with your followers using your real voice(not a fun) unlike some other performers . RIP
Wow, remember when we used to go out and hear live music and stand shoulder to shoulder and no one freaked out? The good ol’ days.....
Before we were locked down by our overlords? Yeah, sad that this is life now.
@@loveandpeace9908 safety now is important, we will get back to normal and enjoy concerts again!
Bach when we lived.
@@loveandpeace9908 hang in there. Won't be long before life returns to normal.
Covid 19 pandemic is fake
One of my favorite female vocalists of all time. Laura had the most unique voice and one that still cannot be matched. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform at the Warwick Musical Circus in Rhode Island in 1990. To see her perform live was quite the experience and one that I still remember 30 years later.
11/19/21 I still LOVE & MISS Laura she had one hell of a voice.
She was incredibly talented. Like so many of the greats past . Thanks
I'm shaking after watching this. Rest in peace beautiful lovely Laura xxx
I miss her, I was in 3rd grade when she was so popular, I feel bad that she is gone now. Her voice is ageless!!! 😢
🙏🏼 So blessed to watch this video. What a voice! RIP beautiful Laura Brannigan ❤️
Now Resting in Peace. Thanks for sharing this video with us. She had a gift.
I love the ways that she's sing a song.. Love Laura all the vedio..thanks for the music that you share with all of the fans..
Wow, what a shock to see this, it hurts so much to know she's not with us anymore. She looked a little out of it in this footage but was still amazing, a more mature voice too. Gone way to soon! RIP Laura.
No she didnt
I believe she was getting persistent headaches at this point. So sad.
She was amazing
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@francessinclair4915 idk what it is, but apparently she died off something to do with her brain
Thank-You Laura, for being part of my teens and twenties!!!!
She had class and charisma till the end What a legend .

My high school days
I enjoyed this video from Italy. Laura, rest in peace!
Never saw this ,she sounded awesome .At the end she starts singing one of my favorite songs, Forever Young. 💐♥️
This made me cry...
why is everyone saying "his"?This is the 2nd comment where someone's calling her a "he". Did i miss soemthing? I'm Confused, could you clarify?
What a heartfelt, energetic and soulfull performance, she still had an amazing Voice ! much Love Laura you left us so young and we miss you.
Thanks for posting this. She had such a powerful voice and was such an angel. May she Rest in Peace!
R.I.P. Laura Branigan 1980's superstar and forever legend xxxx
Queen of music. She's voice can change every problem on the world.
A standout voice from my childhood in the UK , very sorry & sad to just hear of her passing now , I had no idea . R.I.P Laura & Thank you for the music 💐
Such a sad end for her. Caring for her husband who had Cancer, then getting critically sick herself. RIP Laura. 💟
Great to see this rare piece of footage. Thanks so much!!
Breaks my heart every day that she is gone....
Its the yearend of 2020 but im still singing the songs of my dear Laura. And this coming 2021 will still another year to do more collabs of Laura's music
What an incredible soul. Thank you Laura for what you gave to the world.
Talented and lovely lady. She stepped back from her career to nurse her ill husband Larry until he died. Without that hiatus she would have been even more successful. It’s lovely to see her here in this video and how popular and loved she was by everyone.
Wow we in Asia also grew up with her song...RIP legend singer
Consider myself so lucky to have seen Laura preform live. Gone but never forgotton.
Hi James! Where and when have you seen her?. Tell us your experience. Thanks for you comment. 😊
@@LauraBraniganForever I was lucky enough to see her in the late 80' s at Westbury Music Fair. i thought what a beautiful lady she really is. Totally devastated when i learned of her unfortunate passing in 2004.
The voice of laura branigan nothing change
I attended her free concert at Point State Park Pittsburgh, PA July 4th 1985. It held the record for largest outdoor concert attended event for many years.
Esta mujer es un angel de Dios...muchos no lo saben, que Dios la tenga en la gloria...te adoramos en republica dominicana y todo el mundo!
Laura was amazing and so talented, her voice was strong and beautiful just like her....rip beautiful angel.🙏💗
She is beautiful and fantastic. I loved her and her songs.
Her voice still sounds amazing. Clear and powerful. A great singer.
I had forgotten it was so soon after.
R.i.P Laura...Did'nt know about her passing...What a brilliant voice, she had class and beauty till the end...
I named my first motorcycle, "GLORIA." After her song. I was so shocked in 2009 to find out she passed. So sorry.
THERE ARE A ANGEL IN THE SKY, FROM MEXICO CITY , WE LOVE YOU LAURA .
Loved her version of The Power of Love!!
How sad and tragically ironic that her last ever song that she sang live was Forever Young. RIP Laura.
God Blessed the World with her Beautiful Talent! R.I.P. Laura you are Missed Sister! Love and God Bless America! Uncle Jeff!
