Restoration , Ahh You just restored a part of my Childhood that's been lost for many years , I had this same bike bought new , since I was all out into motocross and it was absolutely everything in my Life at the time .. This bike absolutely ripped but not like the previous years model , which was in fact a 84 model , This model was a 85 the first year for the red & white color scheme , The 84 was the awesome Yellow with black and red accents on the decals !!
thanks for doing this video, I had this exact model when I was 12-13. The bike was 8 years old when I got it and pretty beat but I got a lot of KM out of it still. Those things were quick.
I had 4 Yamaha DT125R growing up an a MTX and a KMX 200 before I was 16 , I could not afford a proper motorcross bike until I got older I just had a 91 YZ 250 white and red but new condition, it was 2 fast I wish I got a 125
Good on you, what an amazing story! Memories & whole lot of heart put back into that life changing Yamaha. Your passion is inspiring, actually I have very similar yz & unbelievably same desire to completely re-do, for it holds personal memories, of fun family times, & what a wonderful yet wild bike, mine was also a first race ready bike, a gift from the old man! Thanking you for sharing, love the sound of that powerband rocket, cheers you have made magic , An awesome achievement & with intentions for your daughter to enjoy is definately a proud as parent gift! This motivates me to set new goals! Top job and all the best- Thanks 💫

Hey there very informative video. I have the same bike that I am restoring. It is hard to find parts obviously for it and mine is missing whatever comes off of the spacer between the carburetor and throttlebody. It has a little hose barb that has a hose that goes to a plastic box. I’m wondering if you know what this plastic box hose connector part is that sits above the head? Appreciate it thank you very much.
Hello, i loved your video, it was very good. I have a question what are all the oil and liquid you use for the bike every single one ( not the wd like but the motor oil etc)
Great video. I liked the way you showed the restoration through pics rather than video. 👍
Thanks for that , what a memory trip , even now its still a sweet looking bike

Slick build you should get double headlights so it looks just like the one from that 80s movie! Lol
El.mejor moto yz 80
MIGA. Make it great again.

Thanks man! All oil used are Motul Brand. Transoil for gearbox and FD ester 710 mixed 32:1…. For race bike, I suggest the 800 32:1 or 710 40:1.
У меня есть такой же, только без двигателя!))
Je vien de remetre la main sur mon ancien aussi :)
J'espère réussir a remettre ma 1984 aussi propre que la tienne
i have an exact model, do you know the size of the carb? running a mikuni carb rn and worked the motor to an 85cc any tips?

Still running strong haha 💪
That’s a 1983 I can tell by the airbox

Directly from yamaha… and other from yambit!
