    Excellent instructor. Your execution is spot on. I started drum when I was a Cadet at Mount Saint Joseph Military Academy. The cadets from West Point would come teach our Drum Corps. One Cadet would teach the drum section the other Cadet that would come would teach the brass line. I was a snare drummer, this was back in the mid fifties that's how I started to learn, how to drum correctly. I was a member of the Floyd Bennett golden eagles 1960 and 1961, then a member of the Long Island sunrises 1964 through 1968. Anybody that wants to learn to be a competitive drummer you do a great job and you are a great instructor. I strongly recommend anybody that wants to learn to play snare drunk correctly you are the person to teach them. A good dear friend of mine that is no longer with us, John dowling, he has taught many of the top drum lines in the nation, he is the person that developed back sticking and toilet for the first time to the Air Force drum quartet, they came in first place, the judges were flabbergasted and the audience couldn't believe what they were witnessing I believe the year was around 1960 he is in the drum c o r p s Hall of Fame he has won many individual snare drum competitions as well as drum cortech and he has taught some of the top drum lines in the nation . Today is January 22nd 2024. Thank you for posting all the clips that you put out, I try to watch as many as possible when I can God bless you and your family

    Roughly 20 years ago a friend tried to teach me this. I was barely starting out and couldn't do it and I never really thought to come back to it once I was more prepared. The other day I was recommended a Flammus video and I starting thinking how ridiculous it was that I never learned it. So of course, I go to your channel and voila, there it is. Learned it incredibly fast thanks to your help. Thank you!

      Hi Tim, thanks for the comment. It's difficult with notation because some of the things I teach are sold by the creator/owner as paid PDF or paper notation so I don't normally give away the pdf and allow them to make some profit for their efforts. For flamuss I am pretty sure if you search google it will appear as has been a practice pad "standard" for a lot of years 👍

    So question. Do I have to practice literally 6-8 hours a day all throughout high school to make top lines like bd or bloo? Cus I don’t have the time.

    • @FreestyleRudiments
      @FreestyleRudiments  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6-8 hours no, but you are competing with a lot of other people for the spots so you will need to practice a lot! Once in these lines you will play for 6-8 everyday. Keep in mind we all have the exact same hours perday, it's up to you to prioritise what you want.... and remember nobody is born allready able to play flamdrags, even if you're dad is roger carter and you got some special snare drummer gene 🤣 "genes" still have to pay the price of hours and hours of practice.

      This one is a bouncy-burner type of piece that I put in the same family as The Ditty. It is reliant on fast flam accents but I think the ability to bounce your flam taps in the transitions between phrases is key.
      All of that probably doesn’t make sense to somebody who knows what they’re talking about but that is the best way I can explain it. 😅
      In short, get faster on your threes and those will translate into faster flam accents and taps.
