Thank you :) - I started as usuall with all my diagnostic devices - and finished with your solution. It worked like a charm! Only hot air gun and SMD LP1 Flux :)
this was an informative video, however you did NOT EXPLAIN what you did to REPAIR the tuner... it would have been BENEFICIAL for everyone to know what you replaced or fixed in detail. Shame... because several have asked you to explain and you have only stated you fixed it... it is not feasible to ship a radio to you so it would have been nice to KNOW exactly what you did to correct this problem... diode, resistor, etc...
It does appear that you were checking resistors or diodes with the dmm.. could you please tell us which item you found to be defective. thx
In this video first I checked tuner and replace it and it is not repairable if u repair it after some time it will turn off again that's why we change it

Right update, heat gunned the tuner module and put it back in and worked straight away. Came back to it 1 hour later and still worked straight away. Early days but seems positve.
Hi Graham! I have the same problem on a MDX unit. So, you just used the heat gun to heat up the tuner board? Or have you done anything more specific?
@@retroguy7649 yes heat gun and took up to 200c measured via infrared gun. Very easy repair

@@retroguy7649 I also used a multimeter to check the connections between the main pcb and the tuber daughter board they were all intact so it wasn't a dry joint there. Had never heard tuner sound out this radio until I took the car out for a long drive after fixing all the issues from the previous owners. It came on twice without warning so knew there was hope for it :-) I drink Stella:-)

Bhai maine delhi se devis aur inext brand ke local stereo liye theyinme bluetooth, usb sab kaam kar rhe, par iske Fm se srf humming sound to aa rhi hai par koi channel recieve nahi kr rha , manual frequency set krne pr bhi nahi aa rha srf sarsarahat ki awaz aa rhi hai, kya krna chahiye ??

I have this stereo and the radio aspect stopped working, i just spend $600 on a new unit (not installed yet) but today it magically started working for the first time in a month...It worked for a few hours then broke again.
@@gt0703 mine was the same never heard anything out the tuner since purchase of the car and then it worked once. That's why I gave it the heat gun treatment
@@grahamh6444 Thanks for the tip, ill try find someone with a heat gun, or if they aren't expensive ill buy one.
@@gt0703 where are you uk or USA? If uk and you post it then I would have a go for you. Hot air heat gun probably about 20 pound and infrared thermometer around 15 pound. You could have a try with a hairdryer depending on the melting point of the solder amd what the hairdryer will output.

Right so I have one of these that was installed in a vehice I have just purchased. The radio did not work from day one, however it just started working and sounds really good. However it is intermittent maybe vibration related? Once it starts working it appears to stay working in that driving session. If you key off and or change input it stays working but then 1 hour or so later may not be working perhaps heat related?
Same experience, worked for a couple of days and that was it, didn't work again, any idea of a lasting solution(s)
