Hello lovely Dawn 🌻 What a crafty jam-packed episode! Loved everything, all fabulously gorgeous. Your granny square cardigan looks wonderfully autumnal, you’ll look like the Queen of the Harvest in it. Love your teacup cross stitch, so pretty and your Christmas cushion cover is beautiful. How exciting that your going to Yarndale, you’ll love it there. It’s held in the livestock market, so rather rustic(!) but lots of events are held there. I went to the Vintage Flea Market last week and I’m going to Art in the Pen there nex weekend. There’s always an amazing atmosphere at Yarndale, you’ll absolutely adore it. Last year there was a brass band wandering around playing pop music and they were hilarious, here’s hoping they make a return visit this year! Keep sharing your crafting joy and take care 🧶🧵🌼💕
Harvest Queen, I like it 🤣🤣😍 I'm really looking forward to yarndale and also hoping to explore a bit of the area. If you're there and see me, come and say hi 😁😘
So lovely to catch up with you for a fun packed crafty episode, I love the fact you are so creative and can turn your hand to anything. Loving your granny jacket and all the colours you have picked, beautiful. You will love Yarndale it will fill you with inspiration and creativity. I am off to purchase that Luna book from the works, thanks for the enabling!!!! Cool Crafting will be at Yarndale you will be in 7th heaven xxxx
Hello I have just found you from Karen's video with Jeanette I Loved your video I going to have to binge watch the others now thankyou its been lovely xxx
Wow so much you've done, doing and proposing. It was so good to see you with Karen and Jeanette in the UK. You'll have a wonderful time at Yarndale, I've been twice. It's in the Cattle Market in Skipton which is a beautiful little town which you'll love. My friend has a special birthday next year and wants to celebrate it at Yarndale so we've already booked our accommodation for 2024!! 🥰
Such a lovely lot of things, the 3 yarns would make a beautiful fade for a ranunculus. Love the rocking horse so cute. All the scrapbook papers and signatures are really pretty. Looking forward to see what you decide on, stay safe love and hugs xx
Such a fun one this time! I just started my first Luna, and I bought the supplies to make the Hamish cow as well 😍 I also have the gingerbread WYS and can’t wait to make socks with it 😊 I really love when you share your paper crafts, it looks so intricate and rewarding to make. I’m almost to the point of starting to look for a way to make start myself… with so many WIPs I really shouldn’t, but you know how it is 😆 Yarndale!! I’ve always wanted to go to, and I’m finally going this year as well! I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday ❤
The cow is super cute, I hand stitched my Luna but I might try machine stitching next time. Hope you give paper crafting a try it's a really nice addition to your creating. Maybe try a little kit first to wet your appetite 😁 If you spot my at yarndale come and say hi, I've obviously no idea what everyone looks like 🤣🤣😘
What a lovely variety of projects! I haven’t tried one of those papercraft kits before and I really liked the journal you made, as well as the little box! I’ve managed to catch up with you by watching a bit at a time, and find the time stamps really helpful when TH-cam decides sometimes to take me right back to the beginning! xx
Thanks Helen 😘 Pene seems to find really great kits too, I've been meaning to make a note of them. I do love "free styling" but a kit definitely makes things easier on the brain 🤣🤣😘
Thanks Dawn,,,,Watched early this morning here in Canada,,, Enjoyed it all,,, Love gingerbread from last year,,my fav socks,,,Can't wait to see this year's colorway!! Exciting for yarn dale,,,Have fun,,,!!! I sm not much of a garment knitter ,,so not sure how much for Sweaters,,,You need,,,but I sm sure enough to make a lovenote or ranunculus,,,,!! Elaine💗💗🏡🏡
I'm also curious about this year's colourway, maybe it's out in time for yarndale and I can get some 🤞 I think a short sleeved ranunculus might be doable but I realised I forgot to show the yarn I did buy to knit one 🤦🤦🤣🤣😘
Fun episode! You did it again, now I want to do everything at once after seeing all your projects. 😂 Granny cardigan, socks, cross-stitch, bookbinding or maybe I start with the Toft kid I bought myself while in Manchester 🤔 Looking forward to your next episode with more ideas. Beautiful yarn and cross-stitch kidyou have❤ Take care!
Hi Dawn, what a fabulous cornucopia of crafts today (try saying that when you've had a wine or two 😂). Love all the knitting and crochet work. The rocking horse was a wonderful find and I can't wait to see what you do to it. I've never been into cross stitch but have done embroidery since I was about 9, my mother would sit at night doing hers and she would give me smaller things like tray cloths, they were all done using satin stitch, french knots, etc. In fact I'm still using tablecloths which she embroidered in the 1950's! I have a cupboard full of mine but still use mam's because I feel as though she's with us. Skipton is a lovely place, we used to go regularly but it's too far for George or me to drive now, enjoy Yarndale, I'm sure something will catch your eye lol. The skeins of wool you bought are all beautiful colours and I'd definitely make a jacket or jumper of some sort. You're correct, postal charges are ridiculous xx
Your little crocheted pumpkins would be cute in the pastel yarn. Three different sizes, one in each of the three yarns. You could even stack them on top of each other.
What a chock-a-block full episode! Wonderful! Really loved it all. My fingers are itching to get back into cross stitch again. The trouble is that I now need more light to do it easily - and it’s not really a very portable craft. I’ve found a source here on the west coast of the US where there are lots of smaller kits done on paper rather than cloth. Maybe those might be more portable. (Satsuma Street) I’m loving that in most of the projects you showed in this episode the colors were such lovely natural, vintage colors. That isn’t at all my color palate, but I just can’t help oohing and aahing over how lovely they are. (Do you have a pattern for the crochet pumpkin? I’m not a crocheter, but perhaps I could manage a rectangle in fuzzy yarn.) Off to watch the episode you just posted today. Thanks for making these videos, Dawn. Salam wa sa’aadah
You popped up just at the right time. I had done all my housework and was in a restless mood so I sat and managed to almost finish a sleeve on my jumper. I have been to Yarndale once. I was a bit overwhelmed, had no idea what to buy but managed to spend all the money I had saved up. I still have a skein of yarn I bought and I think I went maybe 2016? You will really enjoy it xx
Glad to have helped lol I've got a feeling I'll be the same Jane, I'm not a very good planner with my makes and will probably buy beautiful things that I've no idea what I'm going to do with them 🤣🤣🤣😘
Dawn, I am so happy to have found your channel. Are you originally from the UK or Australia? Can't tell from the accent. Sorry, I should know. I have a podcast myself that I started in early 2023 called "KnittingsAndSewings." I am really enjoying yours. Like you, I am a huge fan of Stephen West. I'm so glad I found you!
Lovely episode Dawn. I can’t wait to see how the crochet cardi turns out. Lovely socks too and that reminds me to ask you about how long it took you to master the continental style knitting? I’ve had a few attempts at this and am currently trying to knit a sock after watching Arne and Carlos demonstrate their Norwegian or Nordic style. I started off on a 9” circ but it was disastrous with my tension all over the place. I have ripped back about three times now and my WYS signature solid is looking the worse for wear but now I’m on my DPN’s I think it is getting better. Question is should I persevere? How long does it take (with practice) to achieve a consistent tension? I haven’t even attempted to try purling yet although am approaching the heel flap any time now. Lucky you to be going to Yarndale. I haven’t been to any kind of show in the last twenty years and Yarndale is one I would have loved to visit. I will have to live vicariously through IG and knitting podcasts. Happy crafting, Margaret Any advice will be much appreciated.
Hi Margaret it took me a while to master continental style but it's really worth it. You'll gradually find your tension will get better so keep at it 💪 I haven't mastered purling yet, for some reason my brain won't work 🤣 Good luck and don't give up 😘😘😘
@@thewovenalmanac Hi Dawn, Thanks for that. I had to give up on the sock as it was doing my head in. My tension was all over the place. The plan now is to cast on maybe 30 stitches as a practice piece that I can do a few rows of knit and purl every day. Not such a big investment in time as trying to knit a sock but I think it’ll be more doable. Happy weekend, Margaret
Yes they do like to charge a bit dont they..?😂 I saw one of the bags you did for Jeanette Clegg on her channel and was looking for something similar.. it had velvet on the base ( I’m sure she said it was yours..🤔) will keep trying. 😊👍
Love the granny hexagon cardigan! The colours you have chosen are so beautiful together 😍 xx
Thanks Laura, hope it fits 🤣😘

I've managed to avoid Toft but the struggle is real 🤣🤣 I'm still admiring the Santa kit from a few years ago 😍😍😍
Bought a little elephant, couldn't resist
Loved your company tonight! HAPPY you are getting to go to Yarndale!,❤❤xoxo
Thanks so much Alice, I've had fomo for years so I'm really excited I'm finally going 🎉🤣😘
I love all of your socks. And what an adorable cross stitch picture.
Thanks Debbie, I'm going to set aside some time to do a little bit on it 😘😘

What a wonderful podcast, I just had to subscribe!!!
Thank you 👍

Oh yes stacked pumpkins would be lovely, great tip thanks 👍😘😘
As always Dawn lovely to spend some time with you xx
Thanks my lovely 😘😘😘
Lovely ❤
Thank you 😁🥰
Postage is so outrageous everywhere. I always have to consider it when shopping online.
Yes it's so high isn't it 😔😘

Watch this space Linda, I'm waiting for a kit delivery and I'm hoping they're small and easier to work on 😁😘😘
There’s many many Dutch dyers that do advents.
The ones I've seen are really expensive, maybe you can list a few for everyone! 😁😘

How lovely, welcome welcome 🥰 I'm from the UK, Manchester 😊 I'll check out your channel, always nice to discover new crafters 😁😘
Have you thought of the Tolsta tee by Rebecca Clow for your 3 skeins of yarn, which are beautiful by the way 💜
What a great idea, I hadn't thought of a tee I'll take a look 😁😘

Do you not have an Etsy shop now.. the link is not working I’m afraid..🥴
It's in holiday mode at the moment so that might be the reason. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the ridiculous postage costs 🤦🤣😘
