Die Thrash-Metal-Legenden spielen mit einem Wahnsinnstempo ihr Publikum an die Wand. 2006 hat sich die Gruppe aus Phoenix, Arizona nach sechs Jahren Pause wieder zusammengetan. Einige ihrer meist gesellschaftskritischen Titel gelten mittlerweile als Klassiker des Genres.
Die Band um Sänger und Bassist Phil Rind gehören zusammen mit Bands wie Testament, Destruction und Death Angel zu den Vorreitern der zweiten großen Thrash Metal-Welle der späten Achtziger.
1985 gegründet, spielten Sacred Reich auf zahllosen Festivals (u.a. Wacken und Rock Hard) und auf Tourneen mit Größen wie Slayer, Motörhead oder Iron Maiden. Kein Wunder, gelten sie doch als eine der besten Livebands ihres Genres.

Your so right. I'm lucky being in the UK, as I remember all the great Metal bands starting out, then American thrash in 84 onwards, trading tapes via US 'pen pals'. I notice that loads of kids are jealous of our generation. We got it all first hand. So being 50 plus isn't so bad!!😃👍Rock on

Underrated af. They should be way bigger.
It's a little bit their own fault they weren't. Dave criticised the band for being lazy when he quit and went to Machinehead. They just weren't putting the work in. Plus, they really came late to the party. The popularity of thrash was dying right after they released their second album. Now I think they just do it for fun, not as a living.

Eine Schande, dass sie nie richtig groß geworden und über den Kultststatus hinaus gekommen sind. Geiler Mix aus Metal und HC. In den 90ern nannte man das Crossover.
Crossover stammt aus den 80ern.
DRI, Cro Mags, SOD, MOD etcetera haben den Begriff geprägt.

I didn't know they were still playing. Back around 1986 they used to practice in a storage facility across the street from the apartment I lived in. Nuclear Death also practiced there as well as a bunch of glam rock cover bands. A friend and I used to sneak into the facility when the gate opened to let a car in and watch them. Good to see they're still together.

I'm as surprised as you. I remember hearing them back in 1988. Bought the album's (on American import). Glad to see their still going. Shame they never toured the UK much. I'd love to see a Sacred, Flotsam and Nuclear Assault tour, could you imagine?

Great live band... saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon supporting Sepultura in the early 90's. They're still every bit as good today as they were then

I had that Stars On Thrash sampler LP.... I bought Ignorance and Surf Nicaragua the following weekend purely on the strength of Death Squad. They did NOT disappoint.... Sacred Reich, easily one of the greatest thrash bands of all time!!

I saw them open up for Pantera in a little place that used to be a skating rink in Glen Burnie Maryland in 1993. Great show.

I remember seeing them open up for testament in Phoenix back in the day. The singer/bass player kept having to take puffs off of an asthma inhaler. The drummer was amazing. The whole band kicked ass.

Damn I seen these cats at the Mason Jar when I lived in Phoenix in the mid or late 80s. Or was it at Rockers? They kicked azz tho for sure. Phoenix was doing things at that time cud flotsam and jetsam were blowing up Rob Halford put Fight together and was always at rockers and exodus were reloed there for a minute aswell
