When the 16yr old boy defines prejudice it took me a while to grasp what he meant. That was a very deep thought for a 16yr old kid. "When a person loses track of the dignity of the human soul and begins to judge others not on the basis of there being as persons but on the basis of praise, creed and economic status that is prejudice." This is just very on point and I totally agree with him that prejudice is when we loses track of the dignity, integrity and worthiness of the human soul. We should respect each person regardless of their faith, physical appearance, creed and economic status.
The Filipino guy has an excellent English language. It seems that his age acts as he’s above 50 years old but he’s only 16 years old to explain and known about Prejudice happened and happening in his country. Very very intelligent boy.

They need to stand with their own feets too! the quality of education in the Philippines during post war was so high because of high standard teachings.. nowadays only few of the reputable schools in the Philippines could provide these standards.. its somehow prejudice in quality education..

My other grandfather took medicine in four years. Even high school undergraduate are fluent in English. It's the quality of education passed down by the Thomasite to local teachers until they started shifting to Pilipino mode and corruption embedded in. Take for example text book. It's common to see glaring errors in book nowadays.

Hahahahha it's very funny when he said that. I remember that there's a place similar to the role of men and women in Japan. I don't exactly remember the name of the place but in that place's case was that women are bound to find work and struggle outside. Women there play the men's role. And men at that particular place was that they'll just be in their house sitting pretty. I don't remember what's the name of that place but I can still remember the culture in that place and that place was took a documentary by a couple. I already forgot their names but I'm definitely sure that there are still other two places where they took a documentary. The second place was about people living there having no clothes at all. They don't wear anything and they also don't have any names. And the third place that these couple took a documentary was about the place where a fight happen frequently. It says that men and women are aggressive in terms of fight.
I love how each of the participants gave their views about prejudice. Being a Filipino, living in Japan now made me admire and appreciate Japanese people more. I can say that experience and being in the shoes the people will diminish the prejudice. I love living here.

I felt like I saw my grandfather the way Raul talked. My grandfather worked abroad in his time, he knew how to speak the language. I listened everytime Granddad spoke English, I got used to it and learned somehow. It's a full year anniversary of his death this november. It's a regret his children living abroad couldn't properly say goodbye since they couldn't fly back due to Covid breaking out that time. Elders chilling in the morning seems so nostalgic now. Like my grandma, when reffering to a african american fellow she met, she says "yung maitim" which means The Dark one because she doesnt know what else to call them back then. Guys there’s no such thing as an accent there for Filipinos. During that time students were taught by people who spoke fluently in Spanish and had to learn English due to USA. My grandmother still speaks like that and her mother is spanish so it’s natural.
There is always accents when speaking languages, he had the Filipino accent in his english, he was trying to speak with an American accent but the Filipino accent is still present.
They were all exchange students a program of the United Nations. They are debaters and delegates from each countries. Philippines as a colonized country were taught in english as most books are in english even up to this day. The others may be belong to international schools as well.

Thats funny this video was on my watchlist too. Its very interesting what happened in the past. I love learning history and different peoples perspectives in the past so we learn from it. Raul attended in one of the best school in the Philippines that only speaks English inside the school compound. This school where most famous lawyers in the Philippines got their degrees. I'm not surprised why Raul was so smart. His school only takes students that are best of the best. Most people that graduated in that school are lawyers, Presidents of the Philippines, top journalists & etc.
Raul Contreras a very very bright boy could have been offered a scholarship to Harvard, Yale or Princeton after that debate. The Philippines had lost a very, very rare and precious gem. I saw a reaction vlog for the same video and i undrrstand why the filipino mentioned climate out of all reasons andbasing on the vlogger's explanation, climate is an important factor because could actually be the reason how different cultures value time differently. Those in the part where it is colder and has fewer day time hours, they would rush to do things they had to finish within short movable time frame of the day, while those in the warmer areas, they have all the entire day for work. Also, the cold west would never understand working under the hot sun

But unfortunately even filipinos has prejudice to their countrymen which is really sad (smart shaming, accent shaming, looking down on minorities and such) Therefore, even though many foreign people admire good Pinoy traits, we share the same not so good traits as well.

Japan, Philippines and Indonesia are all archipelagos outside the mainland Asia. UK is an island separated from the mainland of Europe. As long as there are people who consider themselves as superior race there will always be prejudice between groups of people. Programs like this creates open communication between people and may find solutions on how to lessen the bad effects of prejudice. This is an interesting group.
They were all exchange students so their high schools must trained and educated them esp the English language. Not to mention, they were all brilliant students ❤️❤️❤️.

I don't exactly remember the name of the place but in that place's case was that women are bound to find work and struggle outside. Women there play the men's role. And men at that particular place was that they'll just be in their house sitting pretty. I don't remember what's the name of that place but I can still remember the culture in that place and that place was took a documentary by a couple. I already forgot their names but I'm definitely sure that there are still other two places where they took a documentary. The second place was about people living there having no clothes at all. They don't wear anything and they also don't have any names. And the third place that these couple took a documentary was about the place where a fight happen frequently. The impression of most Europeans to Asians that they are lazy, this was answered by Jose Rizal in his book " The Indolence of Filipinos" and the reason for that is the weather. During cold months Europeans can work all day and never get tired because of the cold. In the tropics like the Philippines and Indonesia people wake up early and work hard in the field. Then they take a rest at noon and work again at 3 I'm clock in the afternoon.

I felt like I saw my grandfather the way Raul talked.
My grandfather worked abroad in his time, he knew how to speak the language. I listened everytime Granddad spoke English, I got used to it and learned somehow.
It's a full year anniversary of his death this november. It's a regret his children living abroad couldn't properly say goodbye since they couldn't fly back due to Covid breaking out that time.

Well, we are a bit racist, not because we hate them, but because we are kinda ignorant of how we should treat them. Like my grandma, when reffering to a african american fellow she met, she says "yung maitim" which means The Dark one because she doesnt know what else to call them back then. Me and my cousin hastily corrects grandma and tell her to use african american instead or colored person. She then uses it in a joke and said it in english, "I nearly started a war with the colored people", its so ironic and a bit funny, imagine my grandma fighting colored people, but then again, the ironic thing is that wars do start like that.

Guys there’s no such thing as an accent there for Filipinos. During that time students were taught by people who spoke fluently in Spanish and had to learn English due to USA. My grandmother still speaks like that and her mother is spanish so it’s natural.

Raul attended in one of the best school in the Philippines that only speaks English inside the school compound. This school where most famous lawyers in the Philippines got their degrees. I'm not surprised why Raul was so smart. His school only takes students that are best of the best. Most people that graduated in that school are lawyers, Presidents of the Philippines, top journalists & etc.
Raul Contreras a very very bright boy could have been offered a scholarship to Harvard, Yale or Princeton after that debate. The Philippines had lost a very, very rare and precious gem. I saw a reaction vlog for the same video and i undrrstand why the filipino mentioned climate out of all reasons andbasing on the vlogger's explanation, climate is an important factor because could actually be the reason how different cultures value time differently. Those in the part where it is colder and has fewer day time hours, they would rush to do things they had to finish within short movable time frame of the day, while those in the warmer areas, they have all the entire day for work. Japan, Philippines and Indonesia are all archipelagos outside the mainland Asia. UK is an island separated from the mainland of Europe. As long as there are people who consider themselves as superior race there will always be prejudice between groups of people. Programs like this creates open communication between people and may find solutions on how to lessen the bad effects of prejudice. This is an interesting group.
