    The gentle giant with a huge heart full of love for his fans and the rest of the world. I will never forget watching wrestlemania 3 and the hulkster and andre the giant.

    He didn't seek treatment for his pituitary gland because (according to Andre himself) "He said he was born the way he was, so it wouldn't make sense to try and change it" or something along those lines.

      Yeah, it’s almost stupid just reading it and worse that he said it. Paul Wight got the surgery and has enjoyed a good life and extended his life expectancy too.
      Andre’ seemed to of had a fear of doctors. I’m sure whenever he went they always gave him bad news. But that’s because he was unhealthy…..A dentists worst nightmare. lol

    My step-son's fav wrestler is Andre. He is only 13,and Andre passed away over 30 years ago but this is the power of Andre the Giant.❤

      Andre was my favorite at 13 too. In 2004 hen wwe was releasing its classics on demand channel. Andre and Macho. Which is ironic because they hated each other in real life.

    As a boy, I saw Him wrestle in the Baltimore civic center in the 70s or 80s. He beat one of the Samoans.Also, Bob Backlund retained the heavyweight title,defending against Jesse the Body Ventura.

    I was one of the lucky few who got to see him wrestle in real life Midsouth wrestling Oklahoma City Oklahoma around 1984.

    I liked the show Young rock, especially when they went back in time and they had the actor playing Andre doing all the things that guy was really good at what he did depicting Andre as a lovable giant. I wish they would bring that show back.

    He was in the movie "The Princess Bride" (an all-time classic film with the best lines ever) as the gentle giant who first helped to kidnap Princess Buttercup, fought the hero Westley, and wound up reuniting the pair. When the surviving cast at the time talked about the making of the film, they all have nothing but positive things to say about Andre. Robin Wright, who played beautiful Buttercup, remembered that Andre at that point could barely move, as his back was in bad shape. She recalled the scene where Fezzwit (Andre) was to catch Buttercup after she jumped from the window. Because his back was so bad, rather than have him catch the actress in his arms, the scene was shot so that a dummy dressed in Buttercup's clothes was dropped instead, then with the magic of editing, he was holding the actress herself (look closely and you'll see).

    Andre should have stuck around. He also should have retired five years before he passed but something tells me there was no keeping him out. He loved people too much.

      I barely remember. He was in rough shape. Stood the entire time with crutches while answering some questions I believe.

    In 91’. I saw ultimate warrior vs. undertaker in body bag match at the garden and the giant came out with a cane just to wave to everyone. He was moving very slow surprised to hear he wrestled in Japan after that. Glad I saw him in person 🙏

    Wrestlemania 6, andre & Haku defending the tag team championship against Demolition. Andre never left the apron. Haku wrestled the entire match. Andre was involved in the finish/aftermath.
    It was sad.

    I ran up to him when he stumbled into the crowd to get away from Damian in Calgary back in the 80s,was within a foot of him but didn’t feel scared or nervous,just like an uncle or somebody chill

    Another tragic part is there are other wrestlers with gigantism, like Big Show and Great Kahli, that are still going strong because they got the treatment. It's hard to say if he'd still be alive today, but Andre would have undoubtedly gotten more time and a better quality of life.

    I just want to say this every promoter that Andre ever work for new that Andre ever got a title shot for the heavyweight championship Andre would never lose because there was nobody big enough to take the gold away from the Giant and if Andre didn't like you better pray you didn't make him mad because I believe that if you truly made Andre mad it would be bad to say that you would be in a world of pain and trouble me Andre rest in peace he was one of my all-time favorite wrestlers I met Andre one time and let me tell you something I was a young kid Bradford memory that I will always hold so dear Andre was the sweetest person that I ever met at that time we will never forget Andre because we can go to different places online and watch Andre wrestle all over again

    A lot of people dont realize Andre was a main character in one of the best classic movies of all time. Lived it as a good. The Princess Bride. Sounds like a girl movie but its definitely not. If you haven't seen it watch it sometime its worth your time :)

    It’s a shame that he didn’t seek medical treatment to help with his ailments. Not sure if it was a lack of education or stubborness but either way he didn’t need to die that early.

    He should’ve made enough in that last match with Hogan to never have to work again. Something isn’t right , he was either underpaid or people around him, was ripping him off or a little bit of both.

      Never had a world champion run under a top guy contract and the medical bills over time take any money he made away Same as any athlete who dies in his 40s or 50s who never got the big free agent deal but retired with a bunch of injuries

    The fact that you said he wrestled one month before his death is a complete lie.
    This man was on crutches at Clash of the Champions earlier that year. We saw him on television. There's no way he had a match a month before his death. If you had seen him during his last years you'd remember and KNOW exactly what I'm talking about.
