As a kid, even though I was a Newcastle supporter, I thought he was awesome. I wrote and asked for an autograph. It took almost 2 years and a complaint to get it. That was the beginning of me going off him. Then he became the Newcastle manager, and we all know how that went.
It was an absolute travesty that it took so long for his knighthood, not only his massive success as a player, but time he committed to the Hillsborough families, he was only person to attend all 96 funerals,and on top of that the work he has done for cancer charities, especially clatterbridge hospital on the wirral.
