I’m with Yvette, the new version is really lovely on you. Just shows, when brands change formulations, sometimes you just have to turn the other cheek. I’ll let myself out…
I still own the old one, hanging on to see if I can ever find a true dupe. It's just the perfect bronzey peach that can't be beat. I have the new one too and it's so blah. MAC staff always insist it's still the same.
Hang on to the old one forever. It's amazing! I also don't understand how Mac can say that nothing has changed. It's so obviously a different shade and texture 🤔
Mine is even older than that and I still use it. Foundation, lipstick and eye makeup have a much shorter shelf life but I've never had a problem with blush. Of course some people may disagree!!
Watching this video to see if I have old or new! I’m turning 52, take pride in having good skin, have looked after it all my life 😊 look forward to watching all of your videos xx
I just recieved the new formula there is a difference as I have a bit of the original blush. I’m ok with the new formulation it looks good on me and that’s all I’m bothered about. Thank you for doing this comparison.
It looks like a rose/pink blush on me. I am returning it. It's discontinued anyway, you can find it on the mac's last chance page. I work in cosmetics/skin care and based on the history of this product, I can almost guarantee they are going to come out with a similar shade that is comparable to the original shade. Just because so many people have complained about the new version all these years and sales have dropped for this shade.
I spent years searching for a dupe of the original warm soul blush. The closest dupe I found was Chanel joues contraste in the color Alezane**. I believe it is only sold in the US though
I found a very convincing Pinterest post, including images and swatches, that claims the best dupe for it is Deborah Milano Hi tech-blush in 24 Rame... I'm going to try some once mine runs out!
Hi I did try the old formulation a long time ago, but it wasn't a good shade for my skintone. I'm super pale and cool toned, so it looked a bit orange on my skin. It looks great on you and did suit most people - hence the cult classic status lol. I haven't tried the new version, but I also don't like the milani luminoso on my skintone either. I really don't suit peachy toned blush, but pinks, mauves and even a pinky coral/watermelon looks so much better on me. Even on the video though, there is a real difference in the two blushes shown and I can understand why people are disappointed in it. It's unfortunate that most reformulations are not always for the better and lead to disappointment for those who loved the original formulation. This is far from the only product this has happened with, there are many many others. Best wishes.
Hi Loraine! It sounds like you are more cool toned so mauves and pinks would definitely look better on you. The Luminoso is quite orange, even on my skin tone. It really is a fine line when it comes to peachy blushes. Too peach and they just look dirty or orangey! And yes, I hate it when HG products change 👿
but perhaps what were comparing to, what we are looking at is the older blush oxidiced. the only ones we have left to compare with, are old ofc. and mayebe mac didnt change the formula in truth but instead from where they buy the intredients which could potentially have a great impact on the look of a complete formula
Love this video, u know what u mean by products changing in Mac. Unfortunately I know how u mean by some of there products changing. I've got eye shadows and they r meant to b the same in packs. The pk I've got is more of a cool tone, where as in the new pk it seems more warm. But it is meant to b the same colour 😮. Who knows I haven't finished the other eye shadow pk as yet. Thanks for the video ❤❤❤
Hey! I was sent some Milani blushes from a friend in the States. We need to get some more brands like Milani in SA, especially now that so many others (NyX, Max FActor) have pulled out!!
I looooved the old version and felt bad when they came up with this new one...I mean if a product is a best seller...why do you even change the slightest detail in it!!!
Totally disrespectful. They did the same thing with the Mac radiance foundation. They tried to tell us the formula hasn't changed but we can see it on the ingredients list!!
@@Fifty-sense that's weird!! I guess all brands do the same in different ways, cause there's always something different in the formula with each "repackaging" and they never admit it. That's sad!
the thing is, the new version for me is absolutely perfect because i don't like too much of a bold blush on my cheeks. so when i put it, i don't try to build it too much and i also put a little bit on my eyelids to match the look because i don't put eyesahdows. i could basically slowly build it up to my desire without being scared ill end up with a huge spot of blush. whats funny to me is that it looks a lot more peachy on me andit just hits homerun for me since ive been loving peachy orangy blushes too!
The new formula is much better! I think it's more natural and more chic! 😊💯
Totally agree!

🤣🤣 Yes indeed! Thank you for the feedback! And Mac are still very cheeky to think I'll just turn a blind eye 👀👁️

@@Fifty-sense It's 9 years old at this point! Is it still safe to wear?

We're the same age 🤗

I'm glad you like the new one. I have decided that I actually like it a lot after this video!
I like the new version better..it is so much more natural looking. Thank you for review!
The new version has grown on me and I now use it often. It really is gorgeous!
I haven't tried tried either product, but your look amazing with the new version!! Drop the old- the new one is your friend!!!
Aaah. Thank you Yvette! I will now use it with confidence! 😁
The new one is still nice, yet a bit more subtle, whereas the original is a bit more exotic. They are not the same!
Yes, they're quite different. I'm glad I have both!
The OG was soooo good & much better. I still have one and I won’t declutter it everrrrr
I am a huge fan of the original. I have mature skin and it looks so natural. And yes…new formula is similar to Luminoso. Thanks for doing this.
You are so welcome!
I think what disappointed so many people is they made it more dull. Before it woke up everyone's skin and gave such an impact.
Yes, you are 100% right about that!
The old formula was THE BEST!!!! 😢😢😢😢
It was very unique, I agree ❤️
I still have it and I’m gonna keep it forever

You didn't mention the color? Please let me know 🤔
@@Fifty-sense oh I’m sorry, the Joues Contraste in the color Alezane
Thank you 😊😍

Thank you!😄

The colour changed when the packaging was updated. Coincidence? I'm not sure.
Maybe you’re right, but I also remember that I had to be careful with it, the color payoff was really great.

Okay so which of mac/any blush shades looks most like their old warm soul?
Sadly, none. Estée Lauder's Lovers blush is close, but not available in all markets. Milanis Luminoso is also pretty, but not the same.
Thanks for the review - MAC is dropping the ball, not sure why the reformulate cult classics.... ps where can we get Milani in SA?

The new version looks very good on you! The old version kind of drags your face and makes you look older
Thank you for the feedback!
Most of the the time when companies reformulate something it is for the worse. Why, why??? If it's good then leave it.
Amen to that!!

I agree. If it ain't broke dont fix it. And then they blatantly denied it had changed!!!

It really is lovely. I've been using it more since 2 subscribers said they prefer the new version on me. So I'm reaching for it often x
