Question: need help. Looking forward to buy a S910. Would you be able to connect the S910 to any CAD program? I am using a different CAD program ( QCAD ) for Kitchen countertops drawing, but i need to know if you can connect the unite to a laptop on the job site while measuring the cabinets?
Very nice. This video have helped me in my decision. I was a thinking in buy Leica Disto 3D only because S910 can only take 30points each DXF file, but now I see that if we connect it to autocad when take the points it can continue taking points. Am I wright? how many points can it take? Thanks a lot
can some one show / inform me how to add walls internally, i.e adding dims to walls inside one room, drawing another room the opposite side and adding dims both sides of the line
I am impressed. The Leica Disto series are all impressive. But with great respect I think that using this fantastic tool to take 3D room dimensions in AutoCAD is meaningless. After drawing the room in 3D AutoCAD using Disto S910, what is the benefit of that? I can do nothing with this 3D drawing afterwards. On the other hand, if I use a program like Orthograph with the Disto I can take measurements and assign wall thickness and get proper parametric result with proper doors and windows and even furniture. And as an added bonus I can transfer results to AutoCAD in a DXF format or IFC and from IFC to any BIM program. Maybe I am wrong. Can any one tell me what is the benefit of taking points in 3D and plotting them in 3D AutoCAD. I feel that this would be useful in big Civil Engineering Structures, but not for surveying rooms and houses.

This may not be useful, but one can learn how to pick point from existing building or road for educational purpose or making as built drawing
