Thank you for airing this and highlighting some of our community's problems. I delivered this year's remembrance talk at Huddersfield, UK. It was heartrending having to read the names and ages of 426 transgender people aged from 14 to 85 years old who should have still been alive today. Rest in peace, Rest in love, Rest in strength, Rest in power We love you all and we will remember you with the love and joy you deserve
Thank you for showing this. People need to know that, regardless of their opinions on LGBTQ+ folx, those in the community face harm, abuse, harassment, discrimination, violence, and even death. Somehow people still rationalize this by demonizing an entire population. Let us not forget that we are all the same species, we are all on this journey of life together. We may not understand one another, we may not see eye-to-eye but let us not demonize one another and propagate such senseless hate and violence. RIP to all those in the Transgender community who were taken away from us due to violence. They will not be forgotten.
I came out in 1996 and complete confirmation surgery in 2009. They dragged me out for years. I am 66 year-old now disabled woman and I never seen so much hate in my life. I live in Waldoboro maine i’ve been doing advocacy work, speaking defending books and schools doing talks and in July a construction company in our town they threw me in jail for two days because I shared on Facebook. A Republican party poster I’ve been an advocate against them for years I have no social media now I shut down Facebook TikTok, Instagram the police department over reached for a thing that I shared somebody else and this construction company, got me arrested and threw me in jail the LGBTQ community has started a go fund me. I need to raise at least $7000 for legal expenses because I hate genocide at this family. This construction company rained out on me.
Thank you for sharing this. Yes it is so sad that many trans people have suffered violence and attacks which is up by 20% this year from previous year! Thinking of those who have lost so much just to be the person they are.
It's a terrible indictment of society when people have to organize, protest, and resist, just to get their message out, which is..."We just want to live and have the same rights as others, not to be discriminated against, denied employment, harassed, bullied and murdered." 🏳⚧
And how did that go with the election?... Oh wait, the entire damn Left and Moderates were all split right down the middle on numerous topics, and thanks to purity testing, pushed so many people away. There's never going to be any 'organisation' if everyone that aren't conservatives bicker constantly. How's that saying go... 'The Right looks for converts, and the Left looks for heathens.' Yeah, good luck with that blind optimism.
Thank you CTV. There are over 8 billion humans. Which means there are over 8 billions forms of human beings. Everyone deserves their lives, their rights and respect. I did not choose to be a trans woman. It was how I was born. I knew since the age of 2 that I was female. Finding out I had a male body at the age of 3 was mentally and emotionally devastating. Its been painful ever since. I wouldnt wish this on anyone but it is my biology. Respect me as a human being. I do my best to do the same for you.

thank you, this video really made me happy that an intervew can be so empathic and sensible to the daily struggle we face and for some of us, end us.

Wow I’m a trans guy and thankfully I have not really had any problems. My mom and my one sister supports me and I’m so thankful for them.

as a transfem youth, this made me really happy to see the comments not full of bigots, as i have faced hate on many occasions.
My preferred adjectives are "handsome" and "brilliant."
@@Planner38 ok!

Resistance is NOT futile! We WILL organize and good WILL prevail over the evil hatred!

:)
Why is it that the people who love to talk about "science denial" are also the same people who claim that a man can become a woman?
Because the science supports trans people :) 🏳️⚧️
