I know the pandemic has changed a lot of gatherings, formal events, and excuses to dress up, so sending my virtual hugs to those who miss these happy celebrations. If it helps you to get dressed up at home with me, do it!! 💕
Your regency inspired dress turned out so fantastic! I think it was worth all the tedious removal on the beaded lace, because you looked stunning c: Also, I love your cat! Is it an exotic shorthair? 💛
Hi Wendy, at 11:15 you mention a name like Sulky a blue dress with exaggerated gatherings. As i couldn't find her, can you please post a link to that project, if it's still available? THANKS
Everyone reacting to Wendy being pregnant: I like how she didn't make it a big deal, like no announcement on IG and only a cute little mention in her previous video. Because there is already too much pressure on women for having kids.
Tulle tip: Gathering tulle is made easier if you zigzag over a stronger thread (like a coloured fishing line or a small crochet thread). It'll pretty much gather naturally from there. I usually get a piece of strong thread the same size as the length I wanna gather to and tie or stitch it down real quick to the end of the material. You'll wanna sew over this again with a straight stitch or do like you did with the bias binding in the first dress so it doesn't move after you've worked out the gathering amount! Thank you so much for your videos, they are so peaceful and lovely to watch! Hopefully this tip helps!
Congrats on the baby!!! I am also pregnant and would just love for some maternity sewing tutorials. I personally feel pretty defeated by my growing belly and making cute stuff for my body. I don’t like stretch fabrics so any tips and what you’ve been doing during your maternity journey I would love to hear. There is so little maternity sewing content it is so refreshing to see a bigger sewing channel have some!
Omg. How Julia changed the stone is completely genius. Like...... my mind was blown how simple the change was but how different it looked!!!! You guys are simply genius.
Uhhh finally found what I was looking for thanks a lot Wendy 🙏 💝🥰 you literally made me buy a sewing machine and It helped to cope with my anxiety thanks alot
As someone who used to do regency costuming for interpreters at a museum, yeah... regency dresses are constructed rather funnily. For instance, sometimes the only way you can tell the front from the back of a dress is to look for the princess seams... which are on the back. The front bust is always gathered. But, unlike many other eras, everyday Regency fashion was very kind on pregnant and nursing mothers because of a popular style of everyday dress called an apron front dress that had a whole section in the front that you pinned in place, allowing the structure underneath to be easily altered for changing weight and bust lines, plus easy access. This meant that the dress could grow and shrink with the wearer more easily.
OMG that regency dres is absolutely gorgeous!! You outdid yourself, it's so dreamy and ethereal. I usually hate empire waistlines, but this dress is magical
wendy, i love your videos, but i struggle to understand them because there are no captions. i’m not sure if the auto-caption feature is accessible in canada, but i (as well as others who may be Deaf, hard of hearing, or just prefer to read what’s being spoken) would be so grateful if you turned it on. thank you!
I love this video! From how you handle the delicate lace beading, documenting the struggle mess, to showing all the details in the end. Thank you for continuing to inspire me with my creative projects! The beautiful final garment, the editing, the music it was all so incredibly done! I really really enjoyed it!!!!
Forget Princess Di…you have captured the elegance and beauty of Sargent’s ‘Madame X’ ! Your fabric cutting on the wooden floor, with all that good help from kitty, reminded me of the first dress I ever sewed: brown stretch velvet with an empire waist and great swoopy sleeves. I cut the fabric on the floor, my two cats donated their idea of fur trim and I moved the pieces for assembly and pinning to the bed. I sewed it up on my brand new Husqvarna Viking, state of the 1974 art. It was traumatizing. And delightful. Kind of like your channel! I am still learning…thank you for leading the way, Wendy.
I'll never be in the need to wear a prom dress and I'm writing this while the video is barely starting, but I already know this is my favorite kind of sewing videos, specially from Wendy! 💖
your calm and kind energy and your talent and your beauty omg!!!!!!loved this video also I'm happy cause I finally understand how to line sheer fabric I could never make sense out of it in my head but the trick is basting + three layers I'm glad that I now know that!!! yes I'm overly excited about anything linked to fashion and sewing
This dress I just so beautiful! You are so amazing, the way you create your patterns, adjust them, and end up with everything looking incredibly professional. You are also seem so very patient, taking out beads and sewing with such difficult fabrics. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques and inspiring me to try myself.🤗
hi! great work! so beautiful. I used to alter wedding dresses and a quick tip for beaded fabrics - we would crush the beads with pliers instead of clipping them off because some beads are attached by the same thread and it would start unraveling. LOVE your videos :)
I was listening to the video while making a snack for my pregnant self, and just thought I heard maternity because that's on my mind, came back to re-watch the beginning to see if I heard right! Congratulations!
My jaw dropped when she put on that bridgerton inspired look. Literally why did no one tell me about this channel earlier? Gotta binge watch everything now especially cause I have prom coming up and am looking for something to spice up my suit
A brief note on darts on Daphne Bridgerton's dresses (for those who want to know this lol): the actress has a relatively small bust, so that's partially why darts aren't very noticeable because they're smaller darts. There is also usually four small darts on her bodices, two on each side of the front.
About two seconds before you mentioned your pregnancy, I was like...she looks...different....omg, she got that pregnancy glow! Congratulations from the bottom of my heart! You're an inspiration of mine, and I'm so impressed that you have the energy to keep these vids up, yet another inspiration! Thank you for everything!

Now you have two assistants, Julia creates, fixes and sews while Sagwa makes sure the material is constructed properly.
Congrats on the pregnancy.

I started sewing recently and I got some denim fabric today. Do you think you could make a video about making jeans and other denim clothes?
Hi Wendy, at 11:15 you mention a name like Sulky a blue dress with exaggerated gatherings. As i couldn't find her, can you please post a link to that project, if it's still available? THANKS
Ok, whew! So I'm not the only one late to the Wendy's pregnant party.
Eeeeeee! How exciting!
Thanks so much! I announced in my last vid where I made turtlenecks since I got tired of angling the camera to hide my belly 😂
😱😱😱😍😍😍😍 Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Same i was like wait what when did i miss this!!
Omggg I didn’t even knowwwww🥺❤️❤️
Hahaa.. i kept looking back at her videos and was looking for a pregnancy video untill i read your comment. Lol
WAIT I DIDNT KNOW WENDY WAS PREGNANT OMGGGGGGG
I was wondering but didn't say anything that is another "perk" of the lockdown, I was being sarcastic
She announced it last video!! Very exciting :)
Congratulations Wendy. Wooo hoo you’re going to be an amazing momma because you’re so calm and collect. God bless.
Me either! Doesn’t she look beautiful? Best wishes! 🤰🏻🎉
@@diajackson Yes I all is well
Gotta love the help her kitty is giving her.
Everything needs to be touched by her before it’s done, she’s a very watchful supervisor 🤔
She is absolutely adorable and I understand the kitty needing to sniff, attack or lie down on everything you have. 😍
Hair and makeup are ICONIC, Wendy. The queen of simple and yet poppin' looks. perfection
Thank youu, though the Princess Diana look was the first time I thought I should start a bit of a wig collection 😂
the Bridgeton dress is sooo pretty omg. i would def make that for my future partner for a baby shower situation.
Part of me died when she just vacuumed the beats instead of keeping them
You "tried" making prom dresses? No, you fully succeeded! These are amazing
Seeing your thrift flips makes me want to try it myself but with my old clothes
Yesss. exactly the same right here
That’s a great place to start! I try to tell myself that if it’s something I’ve already stopped wearing there’s nothing to lose!
@@withwendy yeah, I don't wanna feel super guilty for buying something and making a mess either way haha
Good idea!

The effort!
The sparkle!
The beading!
The whole look!
Everything is so magical ✨✨✨
gah! the dresses turned out so beautiful! I mean I never doubted you for a second but, you stay amazing me with every project!
julia is so cool this is the first video i’ve seen with her talking!! i love her vibe
She’s the only person that I can watch sew
Look up Micarah Tewers. She’s amazing and funny.
@@josmith5419 I was gonna say the same thing omg!
@@LikhithaReddy8 me too :-D
Also Seamingly Sara. Her editing is funny and she does a lot of DIY
bernadette banner also has that same methodic way of sewing wendy has but its historical sewing
Yes a prom dress video! I'm making mine for prom this year and have been searching all over youtube for videos
You got this!!! 👏👏
@@withwendy Aww thank you!❤
Omggg same girl 😭
I know the video is about the sewing, but I was just here like “Look at the bump!! It’s so cute!! She’s pregnant!! Aaah!!!” ♥️
Thank you for voicing my exact thoughts 😂😂😍
Ikr, she looks stunning 🥺
Absolutely LOVE how your Regency/Bridgerton/Selkie dress turned out!
Gorgeous 😍
Love the powder blue and the beading was sooo pretty
Oh Wendy, you look even more beautiful pregnant, all glowy and happy. Congrats and all the best for the rest of the way 💗

I'm so impressed. The skill needed to sew at this level of difficulty, especially with an ever changing pregnancy bump, is so impressive.
the second one!!! that dress is flirting with me
Oh my god Julia is so pretty
Props to Julia making that necklace!!
Omg the effort that went into the brigerton dress payed off 🙌🏽 its gorgeous
Omggggg your pregnant?????
yes it was announced in her last video heheh
These dresses are works of art, I almost cried at how beautiful the second one is!!!
its so cool to have a mom that could make clothes for dress up, but i'm ready for the toddler clothes and costumes.
Maybe I’m late but did she just casually mentioned that she’s pregnant with maternity items. I support! Wendy is always awesome and best girl.
no she revealed it at the end of her turtleneck video, however the announcement was still v. chill and casual x
the way i opened up this video just to see if my bluetooth earphones were linked and it started with "it's working" thanks withwendy
that diana outfit- yesss!!!!❤️❤️❤️
The tag is to mark a fault in the fabric! Could be a mark, stain, hole or other irregularities :)
Omg. How Julia changed the stone is completely genius. Like...... my mind was blown how simple the change was but how different it looked!!!! You guys are simply genius.

This means so much to me 💕 it’s so good sometimes to just bury yourself in a project and clear the mind, I hope you enjoy the process!
The blue regency inspired dress was SO cute!
That blue regency dress is stunning!! You should wear it to all of your pregnancy doctor's appointments! haha
I can't get over how talented you are! Sewing takes so much patience, persistence, and critical thinking!! Just wow
My jaw dropped at the b-roll for the recency dress, my god u did so good!!!
Obsessed with Julia’s tattoo
Me: doesn't have a sewing machine nor patience to sew
Also me: watches every step intensely and rewinds when I miss something
Edit: typo
I'm genuinely in love with the Bridgerton inspired dress! It's so gorgeous!

That is so cool!
i would recommend when sewing a sleeve to do the shoulder seam first then the side and in-seam in one its significantly easier !
The way you made the bridgerton dress, its insane. i love the delicate embroidered beaded tule that you use for bust. its beautiful.
OMG that regency dres is absolutely gorgeous!! You outdid yourself, it's so dreamy and ethereal. I usually hate empire waistlines, but this dress is magical
the blue gown makes a perfect maternity photo dress you look so regal and beautiful 🥺💗💗
The powder blue dress is so pretty, the styling is also on point! Perfect for a maternity shoot or a party.
wendy, i love your videos, but i struggle to understand them because there are no captions. i’m not sure if the auto-caption feature is accessible in canada, but i (as well as others who may be Deaf, hard of hearing, or just prefer to read what’s being spoken) would be so grateful if you turned it on. thank you!
Both dresses were beautiful. I will never be capable of such artistry, but I enjoyed watching the process and the reveal.
Omg can we talk about the second dress?? That looked so magical and with the baby bump it gave ethereal vibes.
That blue dress is gorgeous😍 it is visually clear how much work went into it.
The blue dress. Just wow. So so incredible

Ok but like... Julia looks gorgeous! she seems more confident in front of the camera. You go girl!
The Bridgeton inspired one! The color suits you sooo well! and the sparkle... It's magical
omg the fit is giving Wendy Bridgerton aka the missing sister we haven't met !!!
WOW the bridgerton inspired dress is a VISION!
The blue dress is amazing and you obviously have crazy good pattern making and sewing skills. Brava!

That Bridgerton-inspired dress is stunning! I'm in love with that blue and that lace
Wendy: "The silver is like gentle but it's there"
Me: What does that even mean? xD
It means it is elegant silver, not vulgar silver :-) As she said - more like grey but little better.
basically not *super* shiny so as to be like blinding and very eye-catching. Really shiny things can take over an outfit.
Noticeable but not overpowering
her baby bump is so adorable 🥺
She is giving us princess Diana and the Bridgertons in the same video i don't know how to react to how much i love this

Those sleeves are gorgeous! I love the box pleats instead of more gathering, I'll definitely be trying that in the future.
My jaw dropped when she put on that bridgerton inspired look. Literally why did no one tell me about this channel earlier? Gotta binge watch everything now especially cause I have prom coming up and am looking for something to spice up my suit

okayyy but i LOVE that giraffe print spring jacket so much. i’m so jealous
awww yay for julia cameo ! she is like a mini wendy
That last dress was GORGEOUS 🥺
The Bridgerton prom dress is pure perfection. I wish you had a glamorous event to go to in it.
Honestly i screamed when i saw the end result of the bridgerton dress! SO PRETTY
THAT BLACK DRESS! so chic what a loooooooook
i have to say that the presence of sagwa improved her videos by 200%
OBSESSED with that bridgerton dress holy moly it's so pretty
I’ve been wanting to make that bridgeton dress ever since I saw the show and now there’s a tutorial🙌🏻 it looks so stunning

i love love love the regency one! so elegant but sweet
The bridgerton dress 😍😍 I’m blown away it’s so gorgeous
Oh my god the last dress is so beautiful
The Bridgerton dress is actually incredible !
The second dress looks soooooo goooooooood. You did such an awesome job Wendy!!!
the bridgerton dress is perfection
You can get a tiny metal mallet and smash the beads in your seam allowance. That way you don't break threads for the rest of the beading.
Makes me want to sew a matching dress and sip tea together!!
