The horseshoe curve line used to be used by the Pennsylvania railroad and then the railroad was took over by the Norfolk southern. And today Norfolk southern and Amtrak go on this line. The Pennsylvania railroad was a great railroad, and it's sad that it now doesn't go around horseshoe curve. Well at least we have some PRR equipment that survived today. Including the SD9 locomotive which is on display in horseshoe curve.
Someone keep me informed on the platform that they should be building across the tracks so people can have a good view of the trains as they come around the curve
Like I was saying they should build a platform right there and have like an over the track Cross Way so you can get there without having to worry about being killed
It's a quadcopter drone. Check out the video filmed by it titled: "Horseshoe Curve 4K Quadcopter Summertime Train Video with Norfolk Southern & Amtrak Trains" Video Link th-cam.com/video/v9eKNqgG-xo/w-d-xo.html
SD40E engines were rebuilt from SD50S and SD50 engines starting in 2008. They are primarily used for helper service on the Pittsburg Line. www.nsdash9.com/rosters/6300.html
The incline of a bridge across the valley would be too steep for trains and the 1st derailment in decades does not warrant spending millions for a bridge.
I have lived in Pa all my life, been to the Horseshoe curve, nothing like it,loved the video
awesome video. sweet catches. sweet NS, UP & BNSF nice. awesome catch of the SD80MAC nice.

7:55 that train was in notch 8. How loud was it for you?
What is a SD40E? It looks like an SD50 car body. Are they some sort of hybrid?

10:26, what is this particular wagon carrying? And the one behind it as well I guess.
We think they are most likely carrying steel coils.
Decorated waiting for the union
16:15-16:22 what kind of horn is on that Sd40e 6311. It’s a nice sounding horn.

Calvin Corrigan thank you.
Why not build a bridge across the valley before the curve and you would solve problems like derailment!
The incline of a bridge across the valley would be too steep for trains and the 1st derailment in decades does not warrant spending millions for a bridge.
