  • The Hidden True Crime community discovered disturbing online posts that Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger may have written more than 10 years ago, when he was a teenager. After examining the posts, Dr. Rebecca Bailey tells "Banfield" that "this man to me is a psychopath... to be honest, anything that he's saying, I'm not gonna give it a whole lot of credence." Forensic psychologist Dr. Kris Mohandie also weighs in.

      I took the time to read all 102 pages of the alleged BK, and I have my take on this, it is a platform where a teen boy is expressing how he feels about being diagnosed with VS on 9-21-09. All the emotions he expressed, about depression and seeing his life in a void are exactly that, how when we are teens, we make the tiniest insecurity the end of the world. He is trying to find a solution to his "disability", and at one point he embraces it. He mentions that taking Topamax did not work for him, because it even made him break a table, as part of the medication's side effects (aggression). He goes on to realize that VS is caused by an imbalance of chemicals, and that taking medicine for this condition, "makes it even more imbalance". So, he sets on to try a specific diet that will help him with this condition in the form of detoxication. He feels more at ease having this condition when others relate to him in similar ways.
      One must try not to relate every little alleged finding about the alleged suspect with what happened at 1122 Kings Rd. I am no expert, but when I read it, I read it as if this was not pertaining to the alleged suspect. If you read ALL the messages including the other users', this is what my take was. At that age, most tend to exaggerate many things. I was once a teen, and thought was not as physically attractive in society's eyes and felt it was the end of the world, as you mature you realize there were deeper issues. It is so easy to take this alleged writing and attempt to correlate it to a suspect who allegedly committed a heinous act.

      There actually might be a lot to it. Multiple personality disorder was changed to derealization and depersonalization in the DSM 5. Those are very heavy psychiatric diagnosis right up there with schizophrenia. They’re not only the writings of a depressed teenager in my opinion.
      But I only know what they are because of a friend getting off of prescription medication‘s and experiencing just a touch of depersonalization.
      I tend to enjoy psychology much more than psychiatry. Organic problems with the brain tend to scare me a bit.

    • @deanwalker6262
      @deanwalker6262 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@lisasmith7066 Think you might be surprised by that. People I know personally, including myself, have found old diaries or whatever and read what was expressed at that time and thought, “oh yeah forgot about feeling that way, damn dude…”
      This is why it’s important for a parent to never read their child’s diary, because humans can express themselves in writing, especially when feeling protected from someone viewing it, in concerning and shocking ways. I guarantee if you read literally anyones journal or diary that has lived, you’d come to a conclusion that this person needs to see someone.

      No telling how many, what kind of strong meds this guy was on from childhood. And I think they need to stop medicating children at such a young age. People don't realize the horrible side effects from these meds, and especially if you go "off and on" them.. switch them up constantly. You become a total mess of a person. And as a young person, you're already going through so much. I think they're screwing people up worse with all these chemicals, and I'd stay away from them, and if you want to quit meds.. never quit cold turkey. Take a year to slowly lower it. Even withdrawal from a supposedly low level med like Prozac can be a horrific deal. Our grandparents were not medicated like this, and their experience in this life was totally different. I think they're making a mistake by pushing all these psych meds on everyone. It's really scary to me.

He himself admits he has zero remorse or empathy and delusions of grandeur. That's not normal teenage depression. He is clearly a narcissist as we can see from his behavior and the multiple accounts of people saying he always has to be #1 in the room. Also, we know he has high intelligence in some ways (his academics) but very poor judgment and impulse control in how he committed these murders.

Idk maybe he did. we can only speculate what went wrong but something did obviously and it’s sad that a person has so limited empathy for others that he feels the need to take multiple lives. that’s why it’s so important to raise our children the right way, spend time with them and to be really interested in their whole life, thoughts and beliefs. not saying his parents are bad. but it seems they don’t know him at all, just the facade he put up.

    Major red flag when a supposed professional in psychology deems that tired out outdated and under developed view that true psychopaths have no feelings or ability to emote. (her ref to these writings & feeling no credence).
    These types of people struggle indefinitely with self image problems. But it is a leading mistake to think they do not feel. Everything they do is motivated by emotion, whether that be a feeling of hate, jealousy. distaste, disgust, etc. People have continued to be one track minded when it comes to understanding psychopathy. It is not simple, they are not unemotional people. They are calculating and intelligent people, they understand emotion by witness to it. And it is in that understanding that they become dangerous. But don't be mistaken, they feel, A LOT. But it is all self directed, It is usually one of two extremes. Complete denial that anything is wrong with them, their narcissism and grandiose behaviour are emotions, self reflecting. Then there is their usually lesser opinion of others (apart from the one person, that gets the pedestal) full of disgust, hate, judgement and jealousy. Quite contrarily the life of a psychopath? Is completed dictated by warped emotion.Yes, some commit terrible acts and do terrible things in order to possibly gain a sense of feeling, or emotion. But that is fleeting. I do not believe it is solely about crime committing to feel something. Psychopathy can also run co-morbidly with other disorders, histrionic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and many more. So again the whole idea of emotion being void gets more complicated if other aspects of diagnosis traits or whole possible diagnosis become attributed. I could go on, but I would be here half the day ahah! These are just my own opinions about observations in this news segment. I will also add the admittance that emotion was one of my motivating factors in writing this. I have been close to these labels before. So I know partly my response is part a defense because I felt an emotion alongside the disagreement with this persons opinion. Anyway! Congrats if you read all this! And thanks! Toodles!

Sensation seeking (his drug addiction is indicative of that). Aggressive behavior (wanting to fight other kids at school and becoming a boxer). High intelligence/poor judgment paradox. However, I DO NOT think she should outright state he is a psychopath so blatantly in the way that she did, even though it's highly likely. He should be properly diagnosed, and she should have added that. And I do NOT agree when she says she would find the posts to have no credence. I think these posts are genuine cries for help from a teenager. I think he was frustrated because he didn't really know what was wrong with him, or was in denial that it was a psychological disorder -- instead attributing it all to Visual Snow. He knew the symptoms, just didn't know what he actually had. He probably realized it was ASPD in college when he was majoring in psychology. And I think he kept it to himself. The more he felt alienated and unable to connect with others, the more he embraced his psychopathy and his negative impulses.

I heard he didn't. I wonder if these comments he posted were before or after he was on heroin ? I do see that there was demonic activity at work in his mind already then. This got worse over time, & I think by the time he did the murders he was demon possessed. That means they completely control his mind. This would explain how he could kill four people as well. They have superhuman strenght while doing the murders. Kill for the thrill. Motive : Satanic hate.... thats it ! Satanic murders are always bloody & vicious. Savage really ! My view is, having a connection to one of victims is not priority. His motive seems clear looking at his past. We know it was a party house, Taxi drivers have stated it was a well known place for drugs and the like. This Bryan character feels little or no emotion, killing MAY solve a lot of his torment , short term satisfaction. Then feeling build till his urges send him to do same again. Another factor may be at play here :
    You know how some smokers give up the habit then become the worst anti smoking exponents.
    A drug addict, rehab twice (heroin and other stuff ) cleaned up, works flat out academic and physical training all contribute, but the shrinks in rehab fail to recognise his underlying thinking, probably the reason he became a junkie in the first place to attempt to escape it. It would explain his choice of academic route. He knows how to be obsessive to achieve and with it may come traits of narcissism.

If you do the crime, you do the time. If the cops turn up any more damning evidence through their search warrants and trawls thru his social media, I'd say its a change of venue and a long, long, long stint on death row for our boy. He seemed like a depressed, filosophical teenager who (despite his own sayings) absolutely feels and thinks and feels bad about how he feels he's treating his parents wrong. This kind of reporting only serves to scare other depressed teenagers from getting the help they need, talk to people online (as many do, because that makes it easier to dive into how horrible they actually feel inside. He sounds more suicidal than "making a trap for the future". I have no idea how these people (if they even do) keep their licences with this kind of talk. Both disturbing and disappointing.

    Has anyone considered that he WANTED TO GET CAUGHT? IMO he intentionally left the sheaf behind with his DNA because notoriety was part of his fantasy. A PHD in Criminology is proof that he knew how to get away with his murder's, so why didn't he cover his crime better? The fact that he drove his personal vehicle with his tag to the crime scene was intentional as well, again he wanted the world to know his name. He walked straight past a witness who could identify him, once again, he wanted to take credit for his evil deeds. He is reveling in all the attention.

    • @automnejoy5308
      @automnejoy5308 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe. But I think there is a big misunderstanding. Criminology doesn't actually teach you how to commit crimes. It's more about theory, psychology and statistics -- especially at the PhD level. So you theorize about why crimes happen and what is going on psychologically or sociologically that leads to crime. Very little is taught about actual crime scenes or forensics. Also, if he is indeed a true psychopath (and he fits) they tend to have high intelligence but poor judgment and lack of impulse control. They often fail when it comes to foresight and realization of consequences. They are so narcissistic they think they will get away with everything, and so their half-baked "plans" end up exploding in their faces. He may have been smart at school, but the way he carried out this crime felt like nothing but bad judgment and pure, wild impulse.
