In this video, I drive up the mountains to share my first impressions of the Nikon F2 Prints: www.deoabarquez.com Instagram: @deoabarquez Music: Epidemic Sound
My Nikon F2 , I love it for many reasons. Sometimes I enjoy simply looking at it, I marvel at the build quality. My example I believe Made in 1974 . Hand assembled. Probably never been serviced yet it works flawless. Beautiful pictures it makes with my help of course. I know I would never sell this camera because it gives me joy it inspires confidence ,it needs no batteries it is a proper tool for anyone making photographs. To anyone thinking of getting one I would say yes ,its a no brainer . Let's face it what modern camera will out live you. F2 will. For those who moan about film cost I say shoot both. A roll of film in my camera could last 1 week or 1 month. Great video my friend just subscribed and clicked the bell and liked. Best wishes from Rep of Ireland
@camerasam1 absolutely nailed it my friend! it's such a great piece of gear and I've been using this as my primary 35mm SLR ever since making this video. thanks for the kind words from Ireland!
You are more than welcome. On a side note, if you ever come across a Nikon F5 at the right price grab it. I can't tell you how good it is you just have to try it yourself .Heavy yes but solid, it truly inspires confidence. it really is a joy to own . For those lazy days . Fully auto or manually . Beautiful camera.🙂🇨🇮
I’m strongly considering a F2 for my next 35mm and I think this video has given me the answers I needed! Also $300 for the camera and those rolls of film is unheard of haha great score!
@@DeoAbarquez great score my friend! I’ve been looking at them and the price is up a bit high I’ll have to do some savings but I’m sure it’s my next purchase!
I've got two Nikon F2s but I rarely use them these days because of the huge weight. If you're young, fit, healthy and strong then no problem. But if, like me, you're old and past your prime, these cameras are massively heavy with almost any lens attached. They are indeed beautifully made, but the metering heads on mine rely on the little red diodes which can be hard to see sometimes. The DP11 metering head relies on the old fashioned +/- needle system though. When I've saved up enough money, I'll buy one to see if makes my F2's easier to use.
@sputumtube great insight! I've got the DP1 viewfinder as described in the video (the +/- one) and I find it is almost never perfectly centred between the two so I can't say that it's perfect either. My compromise is to meter further to the + side as I prefer my photos to have more shadow detail. I'll make sure to keep using my F2 while I'm young haha!
Either you're using some weird mist/bloom diffusion filter on your piece to camera section, or you haven't graded the footage properly. It looks like you need to clean your lens!
@alhOOO2O probably all of the above. I have a 1/4 mist filter on the lens but my colour grading skills are very basic still. Practice practice practice

i guess you can take the same kind of picture using Nikon EM
I would assume you could if you use a similar nikkor lens 😊
