Its about how he struggled through hard times with people pressuring him to "just have faith" but the reality is you can only create your iwn salvation and you should do it for your friends and loved ones, not because you think theres a man in the sky

I agree with you. I'm Catholic, but i don't care how anyone else thinks. This song is fire and I've listened to BMTH for a long time.
I'm an atheist & I appreciate people like you & Gibby. I think if there's a God, people who live their lives helping and being kind to others should get into whatever form of heaven they believe in. Personally, I want this earth to become a heaven. If there's no God, we really are all we have. & from my perspective all humans are just split consciousness but originate from the same family if you go back far enough... hell, that's even the biblical story of Adam and Eve and a few other different religions. All humans are brothers and sisters. Hell, maybe all life on this planet can be called family if you go back REALLY far.

He does say will burn just like a thousand suns on one of them but most of them are the whispers lyric and i cringed every time it came back up
It actually alternates, it goes back and forth, never 2 times in a row, it goes: tongues, suns, tongues, sun...

I think this is why I like Gibby as a reactor. Started out just randomly finding him, but seeing him get more into Metal and Rock and appreciating all kinds of music and being able to put aside his own beliefs for the sake of art, mad respect Gibby!

It's always cool to see someone with different perspectives on life listen to music like this. Oli wrote this album during a time where he struggled greatly with ketamine addiction and severe depression. Gibby is obviously a much happier person than Oli was during the writing of Sempiternal so it's good to see him bring some positivity to this music via his reactions/takes.

I read that he wrote this when he got out of rehab. He is atheist, and while he was in rehab he was constantly told that God was the only way to beat his obstacles. He thought that was crap and that he was capable of solving his problems on his own without the need for a higher power.

He wrote this song after going to rehab and the rehabs MAIN way to handle your addiction, was to find you answer through prayer and your religion. So as a agnostic/atheist person like Oli it wouldn't sit well with him, therefore leading to this song.

I finally saw BMTH live in NY at the beginning of this year and House of Wolves was the second song after "I apologize if you feel something" and "MANTRA". When this started the whole crowd was so fucking crazy that I lost breathe before the first chorus and was dripping in sweat after the song. I'll never forget that fucking concert! 🖤🤘🏼

Quite a few of the songs from this album come from a anti organized religious view. Mostly due to his experience with rehab and their reliance pushing faith on people to help get clean.

I listen to metalcore and rap music. Obviously there’s lots of stuff I don’t agree with lyrically. And some artists I just don’t listen to because Of such. However, I always respect musical ability and talent. Credit where credit is due. Especially being something of a musician myself.

Yeah i think the backstory to this is oli is an athiest, and when he was in rehab everyone was hounding him "have faith in god and you'll get clean" which really just pissed him off. And i get where he comes from with the whole "dont shove your faith down my throat" cuz i grew up roman catholic and thats the whole M.O. at least in my corner of the world.

Appreciate you separating beliefs from the enjoyment of music. I listen to a lot i don't exactly "agree" with i just love me some good music!
I can 100% say I became a BMTH fan due to their live shows and I can say to this day I have ZERO clue what all the correct lyrics say to any song. I enjoy watching you do reactions and ran across this today so I clicked to watch. I also can say I AM NOT interested in some band or singer's past I look at their "fruit" today....in the case with Oli, somehow I became aware of his serious drug addiction, sleep paralysis, and deep depression. His hopelessness pains me deeply and I realized in many songs Oli was crying out for Jesus to show himself and I would argue that Jesus DID answer Oli BUT NOT in Oli's "thought's on what the communication would appear as".....I pray for the entire band regularly, in today's world denial of Jesus Christ is suicide.
