You can craft a palbox close by, lure jetragon in the vicinity and summon all 20 strong pals you got. Just be prepared to retrieve all or you can kill him
I would honestly just craft a lot of legendary spheres go at night when jetragon or whatever pal is sleeping and hit him from behind with the sphere eventually will catch it
I like to craft a pal box on top of the rocky mound that he was using to cheese the boss and then just use it as a fast travel point at the start of night time - just keep tagging the sleeping jetragon with back bonus and legendary spheres for a 3-5% chance depending on your world settings. Each time you throw a sphere start flying back toward the pal box so that when he escapes he will disengage almost immediately and go back to sleep allowing you to 180 and try again. Occasionally he will actually follow you to your pal box but you can just fast travel to the adjacent zone and straight back again and he will have respawned sleeping for another try. You will get around 15-20 goes each night before he becomes normally active again so each night you have a half decent chance of bagging one.
Engage the boss and fly to high ground right away. Watch the boss follow you and stay glued down from where your highground is. Once you pin pointed that spot just leave till the fight resets. Now go back but first stack his "glue spot" with campfires. Restart the fight the same way you did the first fight, only now he'll get baked at the spot. Just wait till he'ss low enough and catch him
There’s an great cheese for Jetragon get him to follow you near the cliff toward true ocean and cause he to fall off taking fall damage should get him to about an quarter of health for you to weaken and capture I heard he could also get struck on the cliff making it easier to get back shot captures as well. Just be careful not to kill him.
If you are level 50 and max lifmunk energy, any legendary at full health the back bonus capture chance is 3%. If it fails just run away to reset them and try again. This is usually faster than bringing their health down, and is waaaay safer.
This is what I did so much better just craft a ton of Legendary Spheres and I use Fenglope as my mount since he is very fast. Always, always get the back bonus then just run away. If it breaks free, you are already far enough for it to de-aggro then throw a ball again on it's back. Got 2 Jetragon, male and female using this method.
I tried this and it worked after about 16 legendary spheres. Another thing I thought of is that you can hurt it for a while, run away, and then return after it deaggros for an even bigger back bonus. BTW, my back bonus was 5% at max out capture from lifmunk effigies and a legendary sphere. I'm not sure why you were seeing 3%?
I caught it simply waiting till night when it was asleep and throwing a legendary sphere at it and if it popped out I’d run away and repeated it till I caught it
Although jetragon not as tanky but it spams a lot fire moves using ice pals against is kinda a double edge sword. Instead i use ragnahawk which tanky enough to take hits and fight it while i let my frostallion recovering. Its crazy how good ragnahawk is.
Rag is one of my favourite pals in the game. Great around base (with Artisan, etc) for kindling (smaller than Jorms) + transporting, has a great health pool and my Lv 47 combat one has 1330+ attack/850+ def stat (condensed a bit and ranked to 15%) with good traits. I do like my Cryolinx though but likely Frostallion is better? My Lv 55 Frostallions do 900-1000 attack but my Lv 44 Cryo does the same (great traits) so might level it up. Maybe take Rag/Cryo/Anubis (1600 attack lol), and a couple of Frostys?? ;-) You're right though, you want Ice pals for Jets dragon type but its fire attacks are awkward to deal with....

NOOB STARTEGY, i got jet dragon at level 45 and the best way to get jet dragon is build a base near it as near as possible and spawn all 15 PALS in it the damage of the PALS are small but 15 freaking pals hitting that jet dragon would make its HP like butter ones some die just replace your dead pals on the box make sure you capture jet dragon around 1000-500 hp and just keep throwing Ultra spheres make sure you got like 100+ just to make sure you keep throwing that thing at 5-7% catch rate you can actually get jet dragon in no time sadly cant mount it yet until 50. BTW dont worry of dying the base is near so you can just respawn and the HP of jet dragon wont restart cuz your pals are fighting it, possible that anyone can do it at level 40 but you might need a lot of level 40 pals cuz jet dragon hits quiet hard and all you do is dodge and run and let them fight.

I wear the heat protective Pal armor with two of the blue shirts that protect against the cold. This way I am never hot or cold and I never have to change my gear. It works the opposite way (two red under shirts with the cold gear pal armor), too.

What will actually happen to anyone following this terrible idea is he will stunlock your mount and murder you, then run back to his normal spot and fully heal himself. Don't do this on Xbox, lifmunk effigy when maxed does the opposite, it's a bug.

for legendary pals, the ones you capture (alpha) retains the high hp. Having said that, is it better to breed or use the alpha version?
It’s probably better to use the alpha as it stands rn, kinda makes grinding for a good one annoying and time consuming

effigy are bugged maxing out your effigy stats will give neagtive catch status had to restart my whole world and get to 50 again
I recommend doing as much damage during the day then let it get to night time so Jetragon goes to sleep. Jumps from a 3% to a 10% +Back Bonus

Yes. Jetragon respawns once per in-game day, at dawn.
