    Your knitting is very advanced and absolutely exquisite! That’s probably why you need a little break from time to time! Your double knitting is fabulous. Your brother’s cushion is amazing! You’re very talented! I had the great pleasure to visit Scotland last summer. We were there for two weeks and we fell in love! Probably the most amazing vacation we’ve ever been on! Lucky you! What a fabulous place to live. ❤

      Oh my goodness, so many kind compliments, thank you!! 🥰💕 I intersperse the complicated projects with simple ones sometimes, but you’re right, I do tend to be a bit over ambitious at times…that would very much explain the need for a break and foray into embroidery!
      I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip to Scotland, I do hope you’ll be back one day 🤞

    Hi Ailie. Lovely to see you again and hope your keeping well. The cushion for your brother is awesome and I'm sure he will love it. I'm not sure about your hat. It's really lovely but I think you should keep going and block it. A bigger size might be too big. The yarn looks so nice and I've been looking for sport weight for a sweater so good to know about this yarn. Look forward to thenext one. Take care.❤

    It was such a pleasure to see you again! You’ve been/are making some beautiful things. Have you tried drying your jumper in a tumble dryer? If you have one, of course! I have a cotton tee that I knitted a few years ago that grows in width over time. I wash it in the machine and then dry it in the tumble dryer and that shrinks it back to its original size.

      Thanks Mairead ☺️ That’s a great idea, I wondered if that might be the way to go. I don’t have a working tumble dryer, but I’m sure I could convince one of my loved ones to pop it in theirs 👍💕

    I was so pleased to see your new episode pop up today Ailie 😊 and I really enjoyed it! Your reversible hat looks fabulous- I haven’t tried double knitting yet but one of my best friends recently produced an amazing scarf in double knitting 🧶 I love your other hat too- it looks snug but if it doesn’t feel too tight I think I’d continue with it 😊 I’ve recently started asking the Easwas Hat by KateDavies- I’ll try to remember to pop it in your Caledonian KAL. Looking forward to seeing you again soon xx

      Ooh, the Easwas Hat is beautiful; I bet it’s an enjoyable project to work on. What colour have you gone for? Yes, definitely enter it in the Caledonia KAL, I’ve decided there will be prizes 🎁

I have the Sark book and would love to make many of those patterns- I’m getting used to doing the Twisted stitch; it’s not at all hard ☺I’m using some Maniototo Yarn ( it’s from New Zealand but it’s not being made any more 🙁 It’s a mixture of Merino and Possum in a brownish-grey. It’s very similar to the dark shade in the photo in the pattern. I’ll definitely enter it in your KAL- keep well and happy Ailie ☺

    I love your intarsia sweater, and I hope to see a version in wool soon! The cushion for your brother is amazing - he'll love it. I'd be inclined to rip out the hat - hats too small are not warm. But by now you may have finished it and hopefully it will ease up.

    • @TheThoughtfulKnitter
      @TheThoughtfulKnitter  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! I’ve really been enjoying wearing it…now to decide on a colour combo and yarn for a winter version 😃
      I think you’re probably right about the hat. Typically for me I’ve finished it anyway, despite knowing it was small! The weird thing is that it doesn’t feel tight though. I’m still undecided as to whether to try blocking and add it to the gift pile if it’s still small, or just pull it out and start again. Decision paralysis!

    Great to hear from you again. Your Soft Hearted blue hat is lovely. You may find that it fits well when your hair is short again. I can always wear a snugger hat when my hair is cut short. I hope your brother appreciates the amount of knitting that the cushion took on 3mm needles. I love the pattern and it was so finely done! It takes a while to master continental purling if you're an English knitter. I practiced on a sweater when my objective was to learn continental purling.

    • @TheThoughtfulKnitter
      @TheThoughtfulKnitter  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks Jillian, it’s a relief to know that I’m not the only one who has struggled with continental purling ☺️
      Good point about the hat 👍 I’m actually growing my hair out, so it will just be a trim around the fringe that I’m having next time and my hair will only get more voluminous. I’m still undecided about the size. I might just finish it and give it to my sister in law who has a slightly smaller head than me!
      Ha, there’s no way my brother will understand the time that has gone into the cushion, but that’s ok. I’ve had fun coming up with the concept and putting it all together 💗
