I was with AT&T since it was Pacific Bell Wireless (which later became Cingular). I was on a grandfathered unlimited plan until T-Mobile announced their updated ONE plan last week. I'm pretty happy with them so far, PLUS there are the sweet little perks on T-Mobile Tuesdays.
A couple days after I switched, AT&T announced their new unlimited plans. So laughable. I'm paying a lot less w/ T-Mobile, and getting more features in return. Bye, AT&T!

Good to hear. I was on AT&T's grandfathered unlimited plan for years, and then recently "switched" over to their unlimited family plan for my and my wife's phone. But even with a 17% state employee discount, I'm paying over $150/month when I could be getting the same unlimited plan PLUS tethering PLUS included fees with T-Mobile for a flat $100/month, so once the unlocks on our phones go through, I think I'll be taking the T-Mobile plunge.

We give customers free routers if signals not great in their homes AND T-Mobile gives you free stuff on Tuesdays, in flight wireless, and is at a 50GB threshold as of the date of this post JS. Hands down, MetroPCS has the best unlimited data plan. I got two free $99 phones, 2 lines and it's $80 including taxes. AT$T wasn't even close. They wanted to give me one free phone, charge for the other Galaxy S7 and charge $106/mo. (including taxes) I could get 6 Gigs of shared data with rollover. To me, AT&T isn't even competitive. Reception and coverage is excellent in my area for MetroPCS.

  • @rockvilleraven

If you are over 55 years old, T-Mobile's unlimited plan is unbeatable for $50 per month including tax on autopay. You can add one more person for $10 a month.
I heard rumors that Verizon is testing a similar plan in Florida for $60 .

Hi! Informative info here. Now that Virgin Mobile is about "to throw all of us Android Users" into the dumpster (and cross over to Iphone only land), I may decide to go with their Parent Company "Sprint" if only to make it an easier process to transfer over my telephone number. With Sprint, I'd only be paying approx 10.00 more than my Virgin Mobile Plan.

The one bad thing that you do not mention is many of these Unlimited Data Plans are “Throttled”. Especially with AT&T. I had the $40 PrePaid (w/ AutoPay) and my Streaming Download speeds were up to 8Mps. I changed to the AT&T Unlimited & my speeds were lowered to 3Mps! This is prior to reaching the 22 or 23G service limit. I’m switching to T-Mobile. They do not throttle any bundles unless you go over the 32G limit, which I’ll never do. “READ FINE PRINT”

The way I see it is as soon as the other carriers invest just as much into their network as Verizon does, then we will talk about pricing. Sprint already raised their unlimited plan pricing by $10 dollars a few months ago. Earlier this year T-Mobile raised their One Plus pricing by a considerable amount after they bought their 600 MHz spectrum. It's only a matter of time before Verizon's pricing becomes "the usual". The bottom line is no carrier is going to be the best in every aspect. They're all going to screw you over in one way or another. Just use what works best for you.

No matter what, we use 50GB per month, (not too mention, going over our data limit became extremely expensive!)Where we live, we have no internet access and no Wi-Fi to "piggie back" off of. Therefore, going from paying almost $300 per month to $180 for two lines works well for us! $120 savings pays for our electric! That works well for us!!!

AT&T is over-priced. They also practice deceptive advertising in my opinion. "Free" to AT&T means the product doesn't have to be paid for today, but they charge you double for the product over time. I couldn't even pay cash for the phone when I bought it, so they can charge you interest on it. They also don't include taxes and fees and guess what? Those are very significant charges. You will be surprised with your first bill, most likely. They advertise direct TV for $100 and a free gift card, but somehow you get billed much more than that and never get a gift card. No, I will never buy another AT&T product if I have another choice. I don't know about Verizon, but MetroPCS is very reasonable...$80 for two lines, 2 free $99 phones (you pay taxes on the phones so the first month is about $110 instead of $80), but it's unlimited data and taxes and fees are included in the $80.

If you love basketball, football, or international soccer, Verizon is the way to go. Watch football games for free without using data using the NFL mobile app. Using Verizons go90 app I get NBA league pass FOR FREE and get to watch LA LIGA soccer and other leagues FOR FREE. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT ANY OTHER CARRIER. its a no brainer

It's funny how AT&T is the second largest wireless provider, yet I don't know anyone with their service. Everyone I know has Verizon, T-Mobile, or Sprint.... Hell, some people I know even have Cricket.

Personally I say if you travel a decent amount pick Verizon ! If you live in a good T-Mobile coverage zone pick T-Mobile. Unfortunately T-Mobile is genuinely horrible in my area.. dropped calls, Edge data, and not much improvement so I go with Verizon's unlimited all day long.

If you want cheaper but a pretty good Unlimited data plan, get T-Mobile. Verizon is a lot more better and more expensive, so if you eant a better Unlimited data plan get verizon
Sprint is garbage, never get it.
At&t is expensive, every other mobile provider is either expensive or trash so I recommend T-Mobile

Older sprint plans are better and cheaper. Sprint meddles with the pricing of their more recent plans a lot; if you have an old Everything Data plan or similar, make sure to stick with it.

T-Mobile has a way stronger 4G network then all now, Verizon sometimes will work at more rural places but when it dose it's on 2G, and in all data speed tests T-Mobile will always have better speed and ping

  • @MistressMira

Some information here is wrong. For instance, with Verizon has 2 unlimited plans, Go Unlimited and Beyond Unlimited. Go Unlimited has unlimited mobile hotspot at 600 kbps, and Beyond Unlimited has unlimited mobile hotspot at 15GB of 4G LTE speed before reprioritization. And autopay is not required.
