Y is Verizon dictating to me how I use my 100 GB. I can use it with 5 devices or 1, it's my choice. My allotted data is 100 gb. It's so dumb that everyone is moving away from Verizon.
so i have bad cellphone (Tmobile) service where im at, im thinking about buying this cause all i need is wifi since i have an iphone, do i have to worry about the Hotspot not working here because of the bad service i have in my dorms with T-Mobile?
Question.. I'm interested in purchasing this for a friend who is currently living in a Motel. He wants it basically for streaming movies and shows, and playing PlayStation. No online gaming, just what is required to have Internet access... Would this be a good fit?? And if you reload your data, does it add on or just top off??
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter is it true he can save more data by lower the resolution of the videos streaming?? We're talking maybe 2 to 3 hrs a day.. maybe more on the weekends. He works alot.. just wants watch one show hes obsessed with.
Would you say the device being older is a big deal? I’m looking for at least 100gb to play video games while traveling and this deal seems good to me. If you say it’s all good I’ll get it, I just don’t want to buy something that is slow and sucks! Thanks!
It's a very low end cat-4 LTE device - which can be fine if highest speeds are not your goal, and you're in an area with strong core Verizon frequency bands.
PLEASE HELP if you can. OK you say a cellular enabled tablet. I have an iPad Pro and it can get 5G but I have never set it up with any carrier. So my question for straight talk is do I buy the tablet Sim or do I buy a cellular Sim or are they the same? We are part time RVers and we just want to use my 12.9” screen for maps and other such things.
A tablet plan SIM is what you need to get cellular data on a tablet, so yes essentially the same thing, although there are also SIMs that are specifically for phone plans and some specifically for hotspot plans. If you're using a tablet, you would sign up for a tablet plan. More on Straight Talk plans: www.rvmobileinternet.com/gear/straight-talk/
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter thank you for the answer. I don’t get why these carrier can just have a straightforward answer. Now I know so again thank you.
Im tired of all the cellular companies deriving value from the throw of a single bit for hotspot service. My unlocked finally paid for phone makes a better hotspot than the hotspot only device.
Are you talking about data usage, not speed? You quite likely have something attached that is using data - here's our guide that covers this: www.rvmobileinternet.com/datahogs
So basically it's not worth the 50$ I'd save over my current 150GB/mo plan with Verizon since the Unlimited portion is so slow it's useless. Don't get me wrong, 600kbps still sucks but at least by being patient and tempering my expectations I can actually still browse the web. At 2G (50kbps) most pages and apps simply refuse to load.
If it’s a prepaid plan, then it shouldn’t be a monthly plan. Pay $50 and get 100GB that doesn’t expire in 30 days would be better. The real problem with these plans is not the amount of data, but our data being cloud based. Every time your phone or tablet connects, it sends data into the cloud and downloads data out of the cloud. That is a lot of data that runs passively in the background. That’s why data limits need to be even higher at reasonable prices. I’d say at least 200gb for those $50
Not going to happen this is by far the very stupid data plan I pay for a service for internet and I am limited to their devices come on now why would I buy that there's a lot better options out there matter of fact just about any option is better than that

If you use the Franklin hotspot connect a router to the ethernet port, can you connect more devices?
It's unknown how they are enforcing the terms.
I picked up one of these for my phone.. for wifi.. and it was going good for 5 days.. and finally slowed down which sucks!

100GB isn't a lot of data for streaming video - he'd probably want to look at other options.

so the $50 4g hotspot at the store is bad? Yeah, the hotspot box says connect up to 16 devices....sneaky small print?

Maybe a travel router to repeat the signal can be the one device connected to it?
We don't have details on how they are detecting multiple devices, but that might work.

And when you're in 5G UW areas with a 5G device, you actually get 3 Mbps with Verizon directly.
U can get straight talk router for $100 and unlimited internet for $50. Not this hotspot but the router
I agree. 50kbps is OFF. Not throttled. False advertising.
Can this be used for laptops?
Any device that can connect over Wi-Fi can use this as a source of internet.
There’s 2.4g and 5g just fyi I was gaming on the 2.4 and has no issues
2.5Ghz is a Wi-Fi frequency. 5G is a cellular generation. Different things.
@ lol nice to know I thought it had a low and a high WiFi setting how do I know how many GB I have left?
You would need to check with your carrier for that information.

If I travel overseas will it work
