This track was definitely an improvement over the last couple years, although I think the fountain is again placed in a really awkward location. Stuffed in between about four different dirt ramps, it'd be pretty hard to not crash directly into it. It gets ruined pretty fast and makes the track really slick for a lot of people leading to difficulties when trying to drive it. I'm also still not crazy on there being still almost entirely dirt that isn't maintained throughout the night and with no placed obstacles like motorhomes or graffiti vans to keep things interesting.
As for the runs, Ryan won this hands down, a great run by him and a close second by Leduc. It's still such a shame about Avenger this year, especially following such a great year in both racing and freestyle in WF2017. Still a good show overall. The encore is pretty lame in all honesty, especially seeing how its aged. The moves themselves were kinda cool, but a drawn out advertisement is still all it is.
To many of the runs were to short or stale in excitement, some kept it up and got it done but most either broke early or flipped early. You can definetely tell which teams get a bigger piece of the pie and which dont by how hard they go and risk breaking stuff. Adam the only one really getting it done and entertaining the crowd. Hope you didnt pay to much for those tickets id be disappointed to. Thx for the upload
They kept crashing not because they went too hard, but because they didn’t hit a lot of the ramps at the right angles. Also some areas were too muddy and slipped some of the trucks up. Ik I’m 2 years late but we don’t talk about that.
The camera man made the video funny at first, then it got a little redundant. Still, I solute you good sir for posting this video. I haven't been to a monster truck freestyle in years. So its REALLY nice to see this video and know it's still a thing like it was in my childhood. #GraveDigger!

I don’t think there was a single a person in that stadium who’s excited emotions didn’t fall and crash into the floor when Avenger flipped over on that first hit. I was there, and when it happened, it took me about 5 minutes to believe that had actually happened. Jim had done so good the previous year, it was the last world finals in Vegas, and everyone (like myself) really wanted to see Jim rock the house like he did before, and it just didn’t happen.
It makes me sad to see how all of monster jam has changed. There’s nothing interesting anymore. The characters they had back then, everything just seems to be for show now instead of the fans, the tracks are trash, I mean yeah maybe one or two mountains. But man what happened to all the really good obstacles? It’s sad man. I don’t understand how they don’t let the drivers get back up and continue if they have enough time left. In conclusion. RIP Monster jam 1992-2011.
You have to understand why they did it though, monsterjam unfortunately couldn't afford all of those obstacles anymore plus the crush cars were getting increasingly hard to get. I heard a rumor that they may go back to crush cars. In Tampa 2018 they actually brought out some obstacles. I'm pretty sure in the future they will start using the obstacles again. But really it's still just as exhilarating of an experience as it used to be. The roar of the engines, the rumble in your chest, the adrenaline from the insane air time. Even though they aren't going through obstacles the amount of skill it actually takes to drive these trucks and put them in the air the way they do is crazy not to mention it actually doesn't feel very nice to the driver. The truck may look like it's landing pretty soft but it actually bangs the driver up alot. People complain about it but don't understand what these drivers actually go through to put on these shows. I do agree that the trucks do break to quick but really that's not the case because the trucks have always broke like that it's just the rules were less strict, now if a tire goes flat or a tire comes off they shut the truck off. They used to let them drive the truck like that until people were getting hurt and killed. That is another reason they don't use many obstacles anymore. One time a wheel that was barely hanging on the truck broke off and crushed a child. One of the biggest reasons was safety and Cost.
@1:19:25 what are the other monster trucks that are present on the thank you for attending the Los vegas Show that night called??? the one in particular that caught my eye was the blue cowboy hat sporting horse truck and maybe three or four other unfamiliar outer casings...a little help out there if someone could fill me in here.....much abliged.

Is it me or the style of Pauken changes depending the truck? When he is with Monster Mutt he goes for big airs from the start to the ending, with Grave Digger he does the big air until the last 45 seconds I guess
I was there too! I was totally getting pissed at the short freestyle runs. It got so bad they should have flipped them over and let them finish the run or Bring them back out after the freestyle competition was over. We did see some good runs so everything want all bad.
Sadly the only thing to impress me that night was koehler still jumping into the “pond” cause everybody ruined it last year. Todd’s 360. And ryans’s crash

Seems like some of them can air out 50' jumps after jumps and others land square and break a knuckle or planetary in a lot less impact. maybe its more of an air pressure thing. Love watching them on tv, there is one girl who interviews the drivers a lot, It blows my mind how much she knows about the mechanics of the trucks!! When she explains what happened id bet money most of the drivers couldn't give you the details she does. Most on the ground people don't seem to know 1/2 about what they are reporting than she does, Been around this stuff since that big blue street truck rolled up and crushed those cars years and years ago lol. Why it hurt so bad when Grave Digger ran that 30-year paint scheme a while back, I was watching when it before Dennis Anderson started. big-foot, usa1, then bear foot was about all ya had back then lol

He uses zoomies exhaust because he is not owned by FELD. It is what Grave Digger used to use and it doesnt muffle the engine noise so it comes out louder.
Boss Me Games FELD got rid of zombies because fans complained they were too loud so nobody has them anymore but they are pretty sweet sounding in person
i think the reactions from the crowd makes it better. the "OOHHHH!WOWW!" shows how much they enjoy the shows and we don't see these shows often

That's an unfair assessment of this year's World Finals, there were a lot of great moments just not from all of the drivers who usually do them.
