Todd’s best lists are always interesting because he’s great at putting what he likes about the songs he picks into words, which makes it easy to appreciate them even if you wouldn’t be that into them normally. Like for example, I don’t think that Sam Hunt song would make it onto _my_ top ten list of the year, (if I bothered to keep up with new releases enough to make one, lol) but Todd did a good job explaining what appealed to him about the song, that being the wistful and nostalgic tone alongside the groove of the instrumental. And listening for those elements of the song that he put emphasis on for the rest of the segment, I could understand why he’d put it on a list like this. It’s why I wouldn’t really call many of Todd’s choices over the years outright bad/L takes, even with something as infamous as Closer by the Chainsmokers being at #1 on his 2016 list. I know I definitely wouldn’t have chosen that song for my number 1 personally, (I don’t know if it would’ve made my list at all) but Todd definitely sold me on it as, at the very least, being an interesting song that captured a particular moment in time, even if he didn’t necessarily sell me on it being a great song, and that was enough for me to go “Yeah, I can see why that’d be on here.”
I, for one, completely agree with his top spot The first time I heard it I felt this sinking feeling in my chest, the kind of "oh this song is ROUGH" feeling that you get from songs like Everything in its Right Place or Mother Stands for Comfort. The kind of tilted head, left hand over mouth type of song That song is really something special, and actually the second song of hers to top his list (the first being in 2015)
exactly this. i really hated the "it's not that deep!!" reaction because that's really not the point. i don't see anti-hero as taylor trying to be "deep", i see it as her being painfully honest about the things that haunt her. it's refreshing, and for some, it hits pretty close to home. i have a lot of days where i think "i'm getting older but not wiser".

"Kill Bill" is such an earworm song it drives me crazy. SZA is dope, but that song needs to GET OUTTA MY HEAD.
The Heart Part 5 felt huge and I'm sad it felt like it was thrown by the wayside immediately in terms of the conversation to the point I didn't even consider it for my top songs until it was too late...
I think people started focusing on the minor drama around MMATBS's critical reception. A shame because The Heart Part 5 is imo better than anything on that album
@@treyebillups8602 Lol no. Auntie Diaries is the best song of 2022.
I mean
It’s the songs he likes most
Not the ones that are “critically” the best lol.
DRIVING WITH MY ASS CLOSED
I like that he added both more well known and more obscure songs like if it weren't for this song I would have never discovered f.n.f wich I have been playing a lot recently
todd somehow literally makes songs sound better on this list. like i can go listen to it directly after and somehow it’s not as good
Even though I disagree with some of these picks, Todd is really good at selling songs
honestly anti hero is amazing
I wouldn't call it amazing. Compared to her best tracks in Folklore and Evermore, it's nothing. But still yeah, not too bad
I only listen to Brads music. Brad is the only celebrity I recognize. Brad doesn’t know I sneak into his house to steal loose stands of his hair when he’s not around.
Brad is love.
Brad is life.
brads the kind of guy to kidnap 5 people everytime he uploads
Brad is the kind of guy to suspiciously cause Wall Street to unexpectedly crash.
Real
A new brad taste in music video coming out always makes my day better
Good vid! For the next review, might I suggest Slipknot Self-titled? I know you’ve reacted to We Are Not Your Kind in the past, but classic Slipknot was a different beast. They were unhinged, putting out the craziest, rawest, heaviest music people have heard. Corey Taylor’s vocal work all throughout is like no other, the rage and emotion is unmatched. I personally believe this and Iowa is when the band peaked.Though it’s a little silly at times, Slipknot SF is one of my favorite albums of all time and I’m sure me along with many others would love to see a review. Have a good one, Brad :)
I can't wait to see how Brad reacts to three country songs. And Todd getting progressively more salty and defensive about it.
I generally dislike most pop music, but the Harry Styles as it was is the only Harry Styles song that I kind of like. There's something about how the song feels like what it's trying to say.
the "shoutout to his family" got me dying💀💀
i thought brad was like
at least 27
Haha, same.
can't believe mr. worldwide took up the entire top ten spot
brad chat is so insufferable man lmaooo
Yes, but it's fun to hop in there, be myself, and piss the chat off.
Yeah, I feel like Brad would be better off with not having a chat at all.
omg the chat is infuriating. let Todd have his opinion! why is it so hard to understand that someone has a different opinion than yours?
I know! It's just ridiculous seeing people seethe at the very idea of someone having a different opinion.
@@jeremyusreevu237 man that chat was freaking brain dead
@@princegobi5992I hope you've grown as a person since writing this
Brads chat is sometimes so insanely rude just because someone likes a song that brad doesnt like LMAO
My favorite chat message was someone saying “number 1 is Fish Heads”
Pushin P is so fucking bad that it becomes ironically amazing to listen to, it's not a bad pick for that reason.
it's a fuckin great beat with decent performances, the whole meme is kinda stupid but sonically it's not bad at all
@@loverboyclement6767 Um...yes it is sonically bad.
Pushin P is still better than Unholy and FNF
your videos always make my day! you are awesomr brad
@20:35 oh you poor sweet summer child, I'm 35 and this song makes me openly weep
33:35 Brad audition for the Joker role
anti-hero is a fantastic song
at being basic
I can’t believe this is how I find out we’re the same age. I thought you were like 30 dude
I liked his list
I am just glad country is finally getting some recognition on his lists.
He's always had an apriciation for country saying he grew up with it especially after the bro country boom of the early 2010s he started to add country a lot more to the best list
enemy being jid's ONLY appearance here is the craziest thing i had to experience in a while
i cant make a top 10 favorite HIT songs of 2022, but if i just had to rank my top 10 for songs that released, it would go
10. born yesterday by quadeca
9. let the smokers shine the coupes by pusha t
8. kill bill by sza
7. time glitch by duster
6. father time by kendrick
5. nabokov by fontaines dc
4. kody blu 31 by jid
3. pass the nirvana by pierce the veil
2. the hellfire club by thornhill
1. walkin by denzel curry
I NEED jid to get the heavy mainstream appeal he deserves, he has like 20mil monthly listeners on Spotify but I want him to top the charts
I, for one, am totally a Lizzard
Loved the react! Your chat sucks.
Except for me, right? 🥺
I love "As It Was" when PREP covered it :)
The thing I find odd is that the songs from this list I knew about were Bad Habit and the Chris Stapleton one. That's cuz Bad Habit, actually I don't remember how I found out about that song, probably a meme, and my dad is a Chris Stapleton fan. I didn't hear any of the major hits. Which is bizarre cuz when I watch Todd's top ten from like 2015 I remember every song.
Glimpse of us was a top 10 hit
todd has never missed
Never will either.
With his worst lists
The reason that Todd stays in the shadows, is because if he were to show his face, everyone would recognize him as Jeremy
26:50
Ice Spice jumpscare
2:48 I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed
Where is never enough. Truly the song of 2022
Break my soul goes harder than the top 3 imo Bee's best song in a minute
This has to be a joke
TBF, he did say that his Top 4 are all #1 material.
i'm obsessed with how when todd was comparing lizzo to megan trainor, he just said "when lizzo does ____ she does it better" twice
Talking about Steve Lacy when Zoomers were trying to cancel him was so pathetic and he's ends up winning the entire year.
When and why did they try to cancel him
@Joseph Wright I assume Febuary 2020. Some1 on IG was asking him for an Asia tour, and he responded, "yall need a coronavirus vaccine that's what yall need"
My number 1 would’ve been no stylist by Destroy Lonely!
Based
NGL Todd putting a random Sam Hunt song over The Heart Pt. 5 might be one of his worst takes ever
Chainsmokers number 1 still his worst but that Hunt song over Kendrick and Stapleton bruh
@@Skrogansaucewe can’t forget that chainsmokers pick.
Um...no.
MGK at #2 in 2021 is up there too.
@@lucasgoncalves7774 He put the MGK song at #8. Still a bad take, but at least slightly more defensible
btw, the first big release seems to be Flowers
this comment will likely get lost, but i highly recommend u review lustsickpuppys music, they just dropped a new song and it’s an absolute banger
OH
THE MISSOURI
Ope, lizzo's career died not because of her music or anything lol
brad….is only…22??
No offense to him but he looks like 30+ something
I would have picked "2 Be Loved" over "About Damn Time"
As It Was is amazing, you are wrong. Otherwise awesome to see someone reacting to Todd, always wondered why One Hit Wonderlands didn't show up on react channels more.
i luv todd
I can't lie, I like as it was too
Are you ever going to do ADoseofBuckley's music reviews?
second this! would love to see brad’s thoughts on those
Who?
@@NidorinoAlliance I think he had a bigger following in the early 2010s, but he’s an “angry canadian with angry humor” and he does an annual top 10 worst hit songs of the year
brad i was blown away to find out we the same age WHAT
Todd always has some wtf pick in his top 10. Sam Hunt definitely the one this year. Kinda disappointed because I usually don’t care for any of his country hits that he puts on, but the Jellyroll and Stapleton songs I actually was surprised to enjoy, and then he puts a kinda gross country song above them.
Also As It Was slaps, keep up.
It’s his opinion though
@@thebowiththemost119 yeah and this is just my opinion. You can have opinions on opinions.
Anti-Hero is the best hit single of 2022. It's an incredibly well written and severely depressing song.
26:50 Love seeing Big Baller B with Asian Glow and Sonhos Tomam Conta in the top 10
I'm so glad Brad and I have literally the exact same opinion about Enemy. I keep telling people it's the only bad thing about Arcane, I always skipped the intro just because of the song, and I got unbelievably pissed when it started playing in the middle of one of the later episodes and I couldn't just skip it.
J.I.D. goes surprisingly hard for a guest verse though.
