Kinda disappointed that Smoke didn’t get his own individual chapter in the story but I guess picking Smoke in the final chapter can make up for it to make him feel like the main hero alongside everyone else.
I'm committed to learning Smoke because he's just so fun to see do his thing. I gotta say though, canceling vicious vapors and keeping the combo going is crazy difficult for me. I really hope I can get there. So far it feels like an accident whenever I do it successfully.
So if you're having issues with the vapor cancel you can always use a cameo like Sektor, Sareena or Frost in place of the cancel to confirm combos and still get good damage. I was using Sareena but now prefer Sektor since he has an ambush to help with pressure as well. Also his Enhanced Vapor is immune on frame one where as the regular has a startup. Overall this is a great guide. The hardest thing is hitting his cancels online, I wish they would have made it just BACK instead of BACK BLOCK.
One thing i found about the grounded cancel, is that if you cancel the grounded ex Smoke port, you turn invisible as well so it makes for another way to be invisible

I had picked smoke on a whim of wanting to play a character and stick with them and when I found that 2,3,2,3 air knife combo I absolutely lost it
I like how NRS changes a bit of the core of the fighter to give him a new fresh start. For example, Smoke... He is now rushdown - mix ups - clever skilled gameplay, so, Smoke is a splendid fighter for that kinf of players, all love NRS.

If he throws the smoke bomb, its an overhead. Both are fairly easy to see, the only one that seems real is EX smoke bomb for the invisibility. That's gonna instill a lot of fear

Excellent! Smoke was looking like he would be my main so I’m glad to see he has some nice pokes that lead into good combos. Him doing less damage without the vapor moves is no issue. You can see parts of his mix ups being annoying for people to predict. They way he plays here seems to be what I thought he would be like. My vote for the next guide Character is Rain OR Scorpion
For vicious vapours, the non ex version is only projectile invincible on the first frame whereas the ex version is invincible to projectiles the entire move
Damn, Smoke is this good. He is one of my favorite characters, but I am bummed out that he doesn't have his Shiver move like MK9 smoke. With it, you can counter projectiles. Enhanced, physical attacks & projectiles. The best part about it is that you can hold the shiver for a solid 10 seconds or more, both regular and enhanced. And when he counters, anything the opponent is doing is frozen until hit with a teleport strike, similar to Hit's Timeskip from Dragonball Super.
Just finished Spider-Man 2 and I got mk1 and knew Yuri voiced smoke so I picked him! Just so happens that he’s amazing in this game! The karambit is so clean too! I love it
Been labbing a bit; it would seem ex vicious vapors not only does a bit more damage but it's also a bit faster & allows you to combo it into some strings where it normally wouldn't connect
It is hard to do but you can combo 3 ex smoke teleports in a row. My recemodation is after ther first one wait a sec than do a 1 1 to a ex teleport wait a sec than 1 1 and finish with another ex to a 1 1 2. Pair it with everything else smoke can do and you can easily get 50% precent combos
Most content creators aren't pro's at this game, so they don't take into consideration fuzzy guarding. It's not good when they parade these 50/50's as fact.
I hope you do a Reiko one soon. He is my second favorite of all time and the little bit I have played with him, he is the most fun character. Less long combo shenanigans more carefully controlling space, being hyper aggressive when needed with grapples and countering on a god level to become invincible. If someone give him some attention I can see him being a high tier at EVO.
High tiers at evo are gonna be Raiden,Nitara,kenshi.since besides raiden who’s just east asf Nitara and kenshi can be untouchable also reptile is versatile asf and Baraka hits like a semitruck so that’s fun
Instead of ending the combos with the karambit throw you can do a ex tp, do two hits on the air, do another ex tp (because yeah you can combo two tps) and end it with an air combo for maximum damage. If you use Sareena you can do 40% regularly with 1/2 bars

I have a feeling mixing the smoke bomb overhead with the low teleport will stop working on intermediate level people over time because of how telegraphed they are. So hearing you refer to them as 50-50s just seems wrong.
At 5:10 where you say you have to cancel after kameo on the first hit is complete misinformation. With Sektor yes. With other kameos that is incorrect. If you are unsure, don't state it as fact as it could turn some people off.
really liked smokes special moves inn mk9 shake, smoke cloud and his super fast teleport, being the best anti-zoning character in that game, but smoke in this game looks great too different playing style

One of my favorite moves is the D+2,4,3. Does the overhead into a low. Can then turn into a good combo as well! Still learning tho my second MK game. Last one I played was mk10 but was never good so I quit. Gonna take mk1 serious and become good.

Forward 4 can be interupted by the telport move. Meaning you can get their guard up with two hits of the three, then teleport before the third connects to catch them off guard
I don't like to play block button 2D fighters, and I never liked Nether Realms games. But MK1 is the 1st one of their games I like visually. And the character designs are crazy.

The fact that I use heavy rushdown 50/50 characters on other fighting games (Hwaorang, Juri, Shunei, K') Smoke is perfect for me
