My gramp never charged anyone for parts other than what they cost, he only charged for labor and he made damn good money, so im gonna follow how he did it for the most part, I'm slowly learning tuning thats my biggest weakness right now, I've done trannys and engines and stuff but the tech side has always been something I never jumped into deep, I can install and play with stuff but I want to learn full on tuning because there isn't a dyno anywhere close so it would be nice to eventually get a setup and really fine tune vehicles. ❤❤

I put 200,000 miles on my '05 with a 6.7 and a S300 66/74 and it towed 20k regularly. I can confirm sustained 1300-1400* egts climbing vail pass and the continental divide almost daily does NOTHING to 6.7 pistons. I had a head gasket start failing twice with ARP 2000 studs and no fire rings though.

Mountain east of Nashville is Monterey mountain. Dropped and countershaft climbing it in 01 dodge 2500 pulling a cattle trailer and later hauled 13 roll of hay at about 1000lbs a peice and got a lil warm cause my fan clutch was out on my 07 but made it fine but that hill ain’t no joke
I think 2200 is stock stall. That's what Phil told me when I ordered my triple disc. Mines stock. I have the 7875 in a .68 ar. I love it for a dailly driver. I wastegate it into my s488 at 50psi. Its a proven 300$ billet charger that makes 1000hp +.
I let my intercooled piston equipped P pump 12valve (1995 MY, CPL 1550) run at 1300-1350 pulling the Johnson grade (with 20k on a trailer)in Colorado all the time. Keep the coolant temp below 220, and keep boost up. As long as air is moving through the engine, the pistons will stand alot of abuse.
Got a 6BTA power unit that has been on an irrigation well since 1995 with over 20,000 hours and she spins 2650 for her whole life and no signs of coming in for the winter for a rebuild
I've got a small set of injectors in my truck and a tune on 37s. Doesn't matter what tune I'm in I only get 10mpg. You're getting 9.6 mpg towing though. I'm starting to think somethings wrong with my truck.
How much weight you pulling? I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 with 3.73 gears auto that gets 18 MPG when pulling 8000 lbs. I get 25 MPG when not pulling anything. I have a 3” lift running 295/70R18 tires. It’s equivalent to a 35” tire.
Idk if its because I have a stock stall converter! Or because it's a 5.9 but man I can hit 1100 egts pulling nothing just getting onto the highway with my S472.
Idk if you race or dd the truck but do a water meth setup and it will help. Biggest thing is don’t be super heavy on the petal 😂 I’ve always been pretty good at keeping egt’s down unless I’m being dumb playing. The biggest thing is after doing whatever let the egt’s get down in the low 300’s and let it idle being shutting down so you aren’t cooking the oil in the turbo. But my buddy runs water meth on his and it helps keep his egt’s down like a night and day difference
@@triplehfarmsllc7348 Coking Oil is real thing if you don't let the oil cool before shutting the truck down. Good way to smoke a Turbo, whether it be BB or Journal, doesn't matter. Coked oil is going to restrict flow and kill your charger.

hey so i have a 98 12v bone stock just fuel plate modifications. stock turbo blew and i’m going to replace manifold and turbo. was thinking about an s464. i plan on building the truck for 1000hp daily and was thinking at what stage should i set up a waste gate for the truck. (larger single in mind for future )
My 2006 g56 truck I've gotta keep above 70 to pull in 6th because I'm over 2200rpm, otherwise I gotta drop to low 60s and 5th to keep egts happy, but I will also run mine up to 12-1250

I’m making 813rwhp with it even though idk how long of a life the turbo will live 😂
How do the 420v's handle a load like that? And what pressures do you run them at? I've got them on my Super Duty and always get nervous about towing on them
So I have an 03 with dual stock pumps 130% overs and a 66 and on the hot tune it’s pretty Smokey. For towing semi lightly like another truck. I have a street tune and a tow tune. Would you recommend the tow or street tune ? Don’t want to change the set up much as it’s to tow my race truck. Love the content josh
The biggest thing is how long you stay high I’d try to stay under 1200 and not keep it their for super long. My buddy runs water meth on his and it helps keep them down alotttt night and day difference
I keep it under 1300 for long pulls, I heard they were rated to handle that continuously, if I'm passing someone, I usually don't look at it. Haven't had any problems so far. I really don't like the 215 pump because it pulls timing with throttle, it helps light the turbo but it sucks for EGT control
@@Rx7man Set your rack plate so it can't ever go into the retard notches. Unless you have your afc removed you won't be into the retard notches until you are way up in rack travel (17mm+ I think) so you would only benefit in them for spooling if you were matting it from a stop all the time.
@@bcbloc02 interesting, but I heard it gets into the retard notches much earlier than that, and then it comes out of them way up there in the rack travel .. I'll have to do some digging.. I did have the pump maxed out at BD Diesel, no fuel plate and a modified AFC, so I probably do get into them.. I'll revisit and research this a bit more and see.. thanks for bringing that up... I'm still working on the H pump project which would solve that!
what is your catch can setup? currently running a QSB valve cover and i put dual -12 lines on it (overkill i know) that im just going to run straight to the ground for now. but i like/prefer the idea of a system that pulls a vac on the engine so i was curious.

Something not right with it probably has a bad injector. My 6.7 never gets that hot. Only when towing 18000lbs on 100hp tune. That's with stock turbo to.

They have a factory upgraded #4 line since the factory one blows a lot.

Cummins rates those to 1200* I normally just do whatever I have to but I also don’t want to melt peoples stuff down

The only good hard grade on 40 is coming to Asheville Black Mountain to Old Fort is a 6% for 5 miles. That will open your thermostats. 🙂

my 5.9 62 over s475 runs at 3k rpm all day towing 15 to 22k lbs but 5.9s like more rpm

2 -10 hoses to a vibrant catch can. -6 hose to return the oil to the block. 2 -10 lines down by the trans for vents
