I don’t understand the purpose of having the lights instead of NVGs, makes no sense tactical wise. You’re only giving your leader structure away, as well as positioning.
Yeah, I agree. However the mission was intended to be played without nods to give it the creepy atmosphere. When you play the mission without modding it like we did, the MTF is supposed to be disguised as local law enforcement, hence the no night vision. But because we’re suckers for looking drippy, we added gear mods to make ourselves look cool
It does… for this mission, there was lore on the Darkwoods that basically said night vision doesn’t work within the forest. Also, from a gameplay standpoint, it’s was designed as a “horror” mission, and so the creator didn’t want people to be able to see everything ahead of them with NODs, rather have the players’ flashlights as their only light source. That made it so you would basically bump into the enemy and create chaotic, close quarters combat
First thing you want to do is play the mission so you can get access to the mission file. From there, we exported the pbo, added our custom mods, and repacked the mission. There’s a bunch of tutorials you can find on YT

This reminds me of the Evan royalty SCP short films, I love it when the MTF are shown as a tactical force rather then just guys with guns.

The weapon mounted flashlights really are extremely bright for everyone that is not the person who has it equipped.
