The only way that I have ever been able to pick a perfect Mellon is by measuring the lines with 2 fingers. That way has never failed me and I've not gotten an over ripe Mellon since I've done it that way

Best childhood ever, we lived in the country side when watermelon season came we would hope and wait when some of the boxes on the trucks would fall over everytime they made a turn without fail two or three boxes would fall over we would pick up the watermelon that weren't cracked and bring them home the truck drivers wouldn't pick them up so it was always nice to get free watermelons.

It's sooo much better on mango! I like watermelon better with coarse salt, let it sit for a minute or two before so it can bring out the sugar in the watermelon. Yum! 😊
