The italians don't go halfway with honoring their deceased. These are some of the most intricate graves I've ever seen. Thank you much for visiting these places for those of us who can't. I would love to see some of these places but not sure if I'll ever have the funds to make it over seas.
The amount of priceless sculptures in that place is mind-boggling. I can not even fathom the cost of one on those bronze sculptures. What a beautiful place.
The graves of the young are so sad, but even the statues on the other graves depict such utter despair in grief that even watching through a screen leaves me moved to tears, I can imagine the toll it must take walking around and seeing them in person. But you did and I am so very grateful that I got to experience this through you. Thank you so much.
Guessing the sheep was symbolic of Jesus's flock. Loved your comment on a guy doing a back flip that made me laugh out loud. Sorry to hear you felt so sad., life is so fragile. x
I think the baby as braking out of the grave and going up to heaven. I think that's what it's meant to represent. There's a grave of a little maybe 10 yr old boy -- how they made it I don't know. You see the wheel chair and a little boy looks so happy as he's leaving his chair while reaching up with his arms to the sky. It's meant to show that he's free -- free of pains & sickness and like he's being brought to heaven where he can run & play --and be very loved. He was finally not in pain anymore People leave toys as gifts. That child's parent's loved their sick child very much & set up a fund & foundation that would help parents pay for their sick children. So when I saw the little baby reaching upwards out of his or her tomb maybe it's supposed to show the same as the boy in the wheelchair. It's just another sick child who suffered & died body wise but the child's soul was now free and Jesus would gently hold that child and love and make that child we'll again.. Anyway, that's my take on it
Northing worse then childrens graves no person should dye so young I've almost had that as experience with my now 5 year old who was sadly born with seriously cardiac which never got picked up on scans witch lead to her been ventilated at 4 hours old and was in NICU for 95% of her 1st year of life even after open heart surgery at 10 weeks old im thankful to say the least shes still here and fighting 5 years later
Thank you for showing us this amazing place, some of the memorials are depressing but the sculptures are beautiful, personally I agree with you that I would rather be remembered with a smile than tears 😊
That one little baby trying to escape was disturbing. Milan is rivaling Turin. Incredible sculptures, bronzes, etc. I wonder how long those will last? Just amazing to what extent these families will go to remember family members! Very nice video Dan. You have out done yourself again! Bravo! ♥️☘️
Not fancy, but an old pioneer cemetery near my home has 4 markers for a family's lost children: 4 lost on the same date in August. Illness, fire, failed river crossing, something more nefarious? Always makes me sad.
A fascinating tour Dan, Thank you.. always sad when there are children, and that wee baby reaching out towards Heaven with outstretched arms (at least that is how I think the family meant it to be) perhaps a child that had suffered in it's year on this Earth..God Bless them all and you to Dan stay safe and well.
Love your videos! I would like to visit all those places that you offer us in your tours. I feel like I'm visiting them. I read the stories of so many lives on the tombstones... Congrats!! Nice work!! Saludos desde Argentina👋
Hey there what amazing graves they really respect there dead so sad but interesting we don’t go to town anymore like they did so sad thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks Dan great series, fantastic sculptures, well done in all those walks, it would get to me seeing all those babies ones, so thanks for showing us all you’ve been to there
So many times like visiting art museums. The history at times just as fullfilling. We all end up some place like this eventually. Might as well embrace it.
I am astounded at the amount of money people spent on these. I am not questioning their love or respect for their dead, just the huge cost. In todays equivalent, it must add up to billions.
In the beginning, with the two young infants laying on top of the monument…were they perhaps conjoined? The sheep standing with the man on the grave: may be symbolic for “the lord is my shepherd”
Beautiful art. I love the time and care taken to make these places of rest so great. Unfortunately in the USA these days you couldn't have most of these as they'd be vandalized by progressive idiots who would find the tiniest excuse to destroy them. That and along with all the other idiots
i saw casket leakage to the left wish you would have stepped over to that part of the mausoleum. I don't understand how these people are actually buried there? it is all concrete where are the actual bodies? 👀
@@neddoucet7779 - Yes , it was played absolutely wonderfully . Do you happen to know the Opus number of that piece . Btw , I love the channel as well , Dan is a straight up Bro ...
The statuary is erected as tribute by the loved ones of the deceased because it has great meaning to them. Therefore, they are not "weird, crazy, etc." Edit yourself, lest you dishonor these people. Sheep represent the Lamb of God, which is Christ. Educate yourself.
It is strange that there are such fine monuments, but the plaques and photographs are broken and fallen off. And even though the area looks well cared for, I don't understand why they don't attempt to restore them. Your idea of having happy memories in the cemetery is very nice, but sadness is what most people remember when it comes to interring their loved ones, except children, where a mother wants to have a pose of the child in happier times, and not posed in death, most of the time. Although you do see those poses as well. Which is why I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered with no monuments or anything. But, take some time and enjoy yourself at some other activities to keep from burning out!
I think that there is enough money to keep things in order but not enough for restoration. Many of the families no longer have the wealth they once had - or they may have died out or moved away. When I die no one is going to go and care for my parents gravestone.

If they were all totted up in today's money you would be looking at a billion dollars easily. They are magnificent aren't they?
@carolineolsenarnold7039 yes, quite
Brilliant series Dan thank you for all the hard work.
What a beautiful cemetery this was!
Milan was so beautiful. The statues were amazing, some actually spooky. Thank you for rhis series.

Thanks for taking the time to walk around and share it with us. It was fascinating 😊
The grave of the baby reaching out was so sad and devastating! May that little angel rest in peace.
Fantastic Dan thanks for sharing this ❤ some beautiful memorials and some just a little strange. All totally fascinating
My dad absolutely adores your videos and demands I watch them with him
They are awesome.
Beautiful cemetery and thank you for sharing Dan. 😊
Thanks Dan. Milan was beautiful.
Beautifully done. Wonderful graves. Impressive. Thankyou for sharing.
Nice monument showing St Francis preaching to the birds
I have never seen such elaborate resting places. Most of them are quite beautiful.
Wow, all these graves are outstanding! You can feel almost the love of their families!!
The wealth shown there is unbelievable works of art.👍👁

Excellent again Dan. 👍
They are really trying to out do each other to the point the cemetery is just terrifying. Imagine that place at night 😱
There was definitely some social rivalry going on, even after death.

Very well filmed in all that heat. Amazing place. Some very rich people in them days !

Amazing, these memorials must of been for wealthy families. The construction, art and design is fabulous
Hope you continue to walk the cemeteries, Dan. After seeing the ones in Italy, the ones in the UK seem plain. Still beautiful though.
These babies young kids so sad 👋 @Dan catching replay
Amazing Series!!!! Thank You!!!🪬♥️🧿🪦🧿♥️🪬
Enjoyed the video Dan!👍🏼
So appreciate you!❤ You go to the coolest places!
Stunning place especially the lady sculpting her masterpiece♥️ Please eat better Dan you will turn into the hamburglar😢
Lovely series Dan , should go to Rome just to see the non catholic graveyard as it is so unique and unusual
fabulous series thanks
So sad but yet so beautiful
Late 1970s, "acid rain" from the air pollution might have done that rusty look to the markers.
Nice job! Well done.
Beautiful cemetery ❤❤❤❤
Certainly some weird ones there Dan. And also some very sad ones. That cemetery is huge.
Watching from Maui Hawaii 😊
The little children ones are sad. Great statues though!
Thank you!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Please take a hat and water with you
Amazing cemeteries in Italy
I love Italy.
Feet crunching and bird song!
Thanks, Dan.
The peacock and "other birds" are at the foot of St. Francis, patron Saint of birds and all animals.
Seriously, that baby crashing out of the headstone is bizarre and terrifying.
Maybe meant his spirit is free.
I Agree, But It's So Sad Too.🎉😢

Right after the grave with the "sheep" was that next couple together after dying in March 1907? Your commentary is so respectful
Lovely
I never seen a cemetery that every grave has a huge statue
It took me awhile to look at this because you said you left.
🙋♀️ Hi, Dan....
Is there a reason why you filmed only half the bottom half of a lot of the sculptures? I would've liked to see the statues in full
Hi, have u ever experienced any paranormal during your walk?
Some are shocking
Where is that baby grave where it is reaching up? I cannot find it.
