  • I took a trip to the nursery and found a few things that could be made into future bonsai. One of them was this juniper. It looks like it had been there for a while and was very pot bound.
I wont style it right away,, first I want to get it healthy, and I also need to learn about Junipers. This is one of my first. I do have another but I also haven't done any styling on it yet. I guess I have my work cut out for me.

It could be my imagination, but I think it already looks happier after that good soak yesterday.

Hope it wakes up from winter and roots into the new mix/container. Fingers crossed. The red roots looked really good though. Did you see white root tips yet? I didn’t catch any in the video. Best wishes

No I didn’t see any white tips. Hopefully it’s ok.

      Likely still dormant then

I think you could have gone a little harder on separating the roots but maybe i should wait to see how mine does before I say that.
Can I send you a turntable? I like your videos but the scraping on that glass table...

Yes please! Or at least a link for a decent one to buy :-) I was looking at some online and then the bad reviews said it was cheap and made a lot of noise so I chickened out.
*Edit* I picked one up on my lunch break, it’s not awesome but at least it would be better than rocks scraping on glass 😂 *end of edit*
You are probably right about the roots. Some people probably would have just started by sawing off the bottom third of the cube.
