i don't think Kirk has preached about republics being better than non-republics in this video. at one point when the suggestion was to leave the country when you don't like the system, some "non-republics" actually prevent people from leaving the country. his example was Cuba. i'd would present North Korea. the old man suggested Russia to be a republic as some sort of a bad example of one. though towards the end, the old man seems to believe in Russia's healthcare more than the US's as if he flew to Russia and had is acidosis treated there. it's incredible that his blood pH is at 6 and he was just shoo'd away. normal blood pH is around 7.4 and the threshold for acidosis is pH of 7.35. it actually does have a treatment, and if he did go to the doctor, he'd know about it and would have been able to answer Kirk's question.
Kirk complains about specific departments and programs, and disagrees with big government in general. despite that, he's not an anarchist and still believes in some government. someone has to build the roads, establish a police, and service utilities after all. an effective market economy can only exist with the proper legislature and courts.

Capitalism = economic system consisting of three things:
      - Private ownership
      - Voluntary transactions
      - Market-based pricing
Socialism = economic system where the 'people' own the means of production
      - The "people" always devolves to the "government," so the govt owns the means of production.
      - If the 'people' (i.e., govt) own it, it means *YOU DO NOT.* You don't own your labor; you don't own what you make. *YOU'RE A SLAVE.*
      - There is no way for the 'people' to manage the means of production, so it always devolves to a cadre of 'elites' managing it. It is a command economy. They decide what you have to buy (like health insurance) and what prices you have pay (minimum wage). They decide what products are made with the society's limited resources (EV mandates). They will decide what work you can do (labor unions).
The elites LOVE socialism because they stay in charge and the rest of the population becomes their slaves.

Socialism sucks. I'm from Canada and within the highest tax bracket. I pay 54% of my income to the government. Our medical system is free but I've waited 12 hours for a doctor in ER for my 1 year old, can't get a pediatrician for my daughter and have to wait at least 1 year for my daughter to get treatment in the system. Since our doctors are underpaid, we suffer the biggest brain drain with our best doctors/nurses going to the states to earn substantially more. Certain parts of the US are starting to look like better options for me.

On many occasions I met people from socialist countries, communist countries, etc. They all said how absurd it is in America so many youth and college professors are pushing for socialism. They said if they truly lived in it as they did they wouldn't even consider the idea much less promote it.
Then they went on to further explain how they came to the US with $300 in their pocket and turned it into a fortune. One gentlemen I talked to was staying in the most expensive suite we had in the hotel and was paying nearly $500k to pay for his daughter's lavish wedding at our hotel. He came to the US with $500. This gentlemen particularly went into great detail how much he hated the current "thought process" in American youth and colleges how they all seem want socialism or communism.

The rule that you have to treat in a US emergency department is not the Hippocratic Oath, it's legislation known the Emergency Medical Treatment And Labor Act, or, EMTALA. Either way, it was interesting listening to this man's description of his ER experience because it's pretty common and stems from lack of understanding of what the Emergency Department is for. Quite simply, the emergency department is for treatment of emergencies and subsequent elevation of treatment & services through admission to the hospital or referral elsewhere if needed. Someone who receives a workup in the ER that is found to have no pathology or conditions that do not warrant or indicate treatment, then they should be discharged without treatment. This is exactly how it is supposed to work. It's not refusing to treat because the ER doesn't feel like it; it's because the patient presentation does not indicate treatment. There is such a thing as over treating, and any physician worth their salt knows that it's just as important to know when not to treat as it is to know when to treat. Regardless, emergency departments treat plenty of non-urgent or emergent conditions every single day. So the actual gripe on the process doesn't make much sense. Now worst case scenario, could the doc's treating the man have misdiagnosed the severity of the man's condition? Of course, happens often, and it's a major problem. But at the end of the day he is almost certainly exaggerating, lying, or misinformed on what his lab values and condition actually were during his ER visit or he would probably be dead.

In Canada the CBC is state funded Media, to the tune of $1.5 billion a year. The CEO of CBC, lives in the US, gets paid $300K a year and just gave herself a $60k bonus.
Less than 7% of Canadians consume what the CBC produces, and even then, only certain programs. Why do we need this? How does it make Canada Better, freer, or more prosperous?
Now multiply this boondoggle by dozens of ministries and departments.

    • @riseagan
      @riseagan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Because, believe it or not, CBC is actually fairly centrist. They lean to the left, but generally tell the story as it is. Contrast that with private news agencies that use their reach to influence people to do what best serves their company.
If you want to complain about CEOs taking undeserved bonuses, I'm in line with you.
