To ease the 'spluttering' of the taps, we turn on the taps before turning the pump on. It means all the air comes out as the tank fills and no spluttering. We also, when emptying water at the end of the holiday, would turn off the pump, then turn ON the taps, and then empty the system as this allowed all the water to come out..

Very simple. I switch the water heater off and fill up again 😉 As for cleaning. I did a video a couple of years ago about using Puriclean to clean the water system. It’s worth a watch.

I think you need after bleeding the air from the cold water pipes to do hot water to make sure the boiler is filled, for the heating element.

Is there a valve or tap to let the wast water out into the water container
Not on a caravan, but there's one on motorhomes, to hold the waste water in the on board tank until it's emptied
