You do understand that top fuel dragsters are still running engines based on the Hemi design. That being said the 392s do come with a forged crank if you gonna really up the boost you will need forged rods and pistons . But it can produce 650 hp all day long no problem stock
Pretty bold statement there, considering the the crank is forged, pistons, valves, and springs are super strong and made of durable materials. Plenty of supercharged 392s running around. What makes the Coyote superior to the 392 from the factory?
Oh yeah i dont disagree. The Demon is an amazing car. There are plenty of people pushing coyotes to 800hp with stock internals though. Out of the big 3 (Camaro SS, Mustang GT and the Challenger scat pack), the 392 is the weakest internally
Ummm I'm a mopar fan. And have extensively researched building each motor. Because I currently have a 6.1 and was debating a 392 for the higher displacement. What you guys don't understand is yes. Theyre all hemis but they are built extensively different and just because something is rocking forged internals doesnt mean it's ready to boost. And the srts only have forged cranks. The rods and arms are all powder forged and the heads are aluminum in every 392 and 6.1. That being said. The 6.1 was designed to get as much power from modding as wanted so long as you swap the internals. So it will run high na power or SC power. However a 392 was specifically designed for na anyone who tells you different is an idiot. The 5.7s were designed also for na again. Anyone tells you different theyre an idiot. Supercharger each of those motors whether upgraded internals or not will give you a ticking time bomb. Because motors are more than just valves and rotating assemblies. They also rely on placements of such items. As well as computer systems. Compression ratios and bore to stroke ratios. The 6.2 and 6.1s are the only ones made for forced inductions. The 6.2 being obviously specifically made for forced induction as they come 11lbs and 14lbs from factory with considerably low compression ratios. Dodge didnt get rid of the 6.1 for it being lacking of anything. Its one of the best motors they ever built. The reason they got rid of it was for consumer heritage. The 392 was offered for old heads or people just looking for a little bit more power than a 5.7 but didnt want to spend their time and money modding. Hence the appx 5k difference between the 392s and the hellcats new. Whereas the 6.2s were made for newer generations of mopar buyers who also didn't want to spend the time modding. As most newer generations dont know as much about nodding motors. Considering that theyre more extensive then they were back in the 60s and 70s. Where kids and young adults would be easily able to mod a motor themselves in their garage through simple bores and cams. That's also implication of why the 5.7 and 392s rock the heritage models like the Daytona and anniversary editions.
Rush Brother, you work your ass off to get these beautiful race cars to give us outstanding content on your channel! And of course you'll have your ups and downs as well. Love seeing your channel get the success it deserves! Keep up the excellent work! 😎👍
I feel for ya brother. Bought my 2016 392 scat last year on Memorial Day and it was slammed into 4 weeks later while parked. 9 weeks and $17,300 later she was all fixed up and ready to come home. Thank god for insurance...
hey rush, could you make a video on how to negotiate a deal. I saw the video where you talk about it, and I was wondering if you could make another video going into depth on how to negotiate. Love the content
Watch his videos from a year or so ago. He was trying to buy his new 5.0 at a couple different dealerships. Those videos helped me secure a good deal on my mustang.
You could have added the Roush phase 2 supercharger installed by Ford Performance. At 750hp & 670 torque it’s Reliable, consistent and safe HP for the coyote engine. You’re gonna keep having problems... but if you’re having fun... hey man, enjoy !
Wow, what I appreciated was the detailed engine compartment on the 2019 Mustang. I am an SRT 392 guy but have to acknowledge how sweet your Mustang really is. I also like your new t-shirt.
What I think is funny is you say "If you're scared about getting your hands dirty, or diagnosing a problem, adding power isn't for you." That is 100% situational, and I don't agree with it. If you took your 5.0, and just added a stage 1 whipple kit, and didn't play with pully sizes, I'd bet you dollars to doughnuts it'd get a good 100WHP boost, and be completely reliable, even if driven hard. The block and components can take it, the 6-rib belts can handle it. You're going to stage 3+ (Street -> Competition -> Racing) and beyond, so you're running into much more frequent problems with what 'stock' cars can handle. There are plenty of street kits that are bolt on, add lots of good power, and retain 90% of their stock reliability. You're far, far beyond that, nudging your way towards four digit crank horsepower numbers, that's a completely different world.
Exactly. True forged internals. Diamond heads. Cam swaps, lifters. Fly wheels, valve covers exhaust and exhaust manifolds. And intakes/number of direct intakes and air, coolant and oil engine cooling mechanisms should all be considered as well as deep sumps, rings and possible clutch/master cylinders and gear ratios as well as reinforcing or swapping transmissions and diffs, trans cooler and oil diffusers should always be considered when doing stage 3 and above.
Yup, I dealt with belt slip when I pullied down on my Paxton. Ended up maxing out the tensioner and adding a Gates Green belt. Going turbo now though, so won’t be dealing with belt issues @ all 🥳
Been loving the videos lately. My dad owns a 2015 gt with a few upgrades. Starting to learn how to drive stick on it. Im doing pretty good. One day I would love to go in a ride in that boss. Thing is sick.
Bruh I see where you’re going and you have the ideal set up of 3 cars. Stock/FBO, mild build and “practically” a race car. The SRT is an awesome comfy daily muscle car. Sure you can boost it, but it doesn’t take it all that well! IMHO, it’s better to keep it mostly stock with some tasteful mods and leave it as Ol’ reliable. The 19 is exactly the way I’d do it as well, the Gen3s can live in that 750-800whp range and still be a very livable car. Especially with a PD blower set up. Easy to diagnose, simple and still gets after it. And now the Boss. Hell yes 🙌 perfect 3rd car. Practically a race car. It’s one of those builds that I’d probably swap to a 4R200 from PBH or a TH400 and let that bish eat!!! Especially because you have a fast stick car already. I’m sure as is with moderate boost and an auto it’s deep into the 9s @ 145, but easily 8 second potential. Keep pumping out the vids brother 🤙
I’m very strongly leaning towards procharger for my gt350. Torque is what breaks things so just apprehensive with the idea of the whipple even though the powerband is gorgeous. Also don’t like that I’d have to remove my factory front strut bar with the whipple. Great content keep up the good work.
Its pretty simple: increasing horsepower to a car developed for 450 HP will bring you issues. Engineers develop cars forna given amount of power meaning the drive shaft, the gears transmission, the fuel injector, fuel pump, belt transmission and tensioner, cooling system is developed for that power. If you boost the power without taking into account.all other stuff that comes around brings reliability issues. Proof here with your 2 stangs. it s not rocket science, it is just sense. That s why a GT350 costs more, a Roush....etc and other officially modified stangs. Sad to hear that both of your cars are broken.
You’re cars are the shit..could u walk thru how to shift while racing cause it’s definitely different than usual shifting(like what rpms your car goes to and how many rpms u get to until u shift) i know youre amazing at it
True Rush but we all know Fords are notorious for breaking down when adding more horsepower I think Mopar would have been a better build That's exactly why you started with that comment 😁😁😁😁
All it takes is forged internals which mmx sells for like 2k probably under 2k and its pretty good just like the 5.0 all thought i will say if both have the same psi the mustang is faster but is it more reliable who knows
Rush you should make a pin out of the run your car not your mouth sticker I like to put pins on my hats and I would love to put that pin on my hat just an ideas keep up the good work bro!!!
What about Fords lawsuit about their mt82s and mt82-d4 love the channel and was thinking about getting one of these(not supercharged of course) and heard the ford lawsuit, now I'm thinking about gt500
That’s the thing that happens when you mod cars like these, if you want power and reliability you are going to have to spend money and get into super car territory. Mustangs have one of the worst records of failing with mods unfortunately...
I just got a 2014 mustang gt, I was looking for a good exhaust setup with what type of long tubes, x-pipe and what exhaust would be a good combo. (I want to be cat-less btw)
who on here is telling you to boost the 392? It is a fantastic engine stock and/or with simple bolt ons but it is TERRIBLE for boosting! you’ve made the right decision to boost the coyote!

Especially people whove actually modded their cars and looked into extensively and talked to an actual shop and wasn't some backyard mechanic or didn't just drop their car off and tell the tuner to "make it faster"
Trackhawk's are badass if you can afford one its the ultimate daily hopefully one day I can get my hands on one but I have been looking into a Jeep SRT for a new daily driver.
Jesse it pulls way different, I can go 80 in 2nd gear. It’s way better feeling than the MT-82. When I race other manual cars they shift twice before I shift from 2nd to 3rd. Depends what your power level is also but it’s way better then MT-82
@@Erikkire18 i guessed so that awesome man i gonna get a 3rd gen soon and scared to get a manual cause of the problems the mt82 have it would be my first stick car or might go with the 10 speed thanks for your input
Jesse I mean if your NA the MT-82 is good and even boosted to like 700 wheel, after 700 it’s a bit risky. Also depends on the clutch as well once replaced. My buddy got his 18 and it was his first manual, he would rather have over the 10R80. We have 2 friends with 10R80s but I like manual.
The trans on side boo is great but she needs to stay stock! I think you need to build a deisel truck. Big power and the hold. Js bro look in other areas but they do cost!

Mustangs are also an easier market to find modifications rather than a challenger. Honestly would’ve done the same of what you’re doing homie

Keep it more reliable by staying with a stage 1 !
