thank you so much! Looked exactly for this. Manual in jira seemed to be too complicated and too many actions (maybe I found the wrong jira documentation) , but looking your video it turned out to be 5 min to do what I needed. Tx! Sooo helpful!
Man, this was SO helpful. I thank you a million. Been looking for this for hours. Nothing useful on jira official forum. Thanks SOOOO much, really appreciate this quick and clear explanation
Alex, thank you kindly for your great content and teaching skill. Please as you mentioned in the video, I have been trying to make the Resolution at the workflow level but I am fumbling. Can you please enumerate the steps for me? Or I would appreciate it if you could direct me to a video you might have created for that. Thanks.
This is really good video clearing my doubts on the Resolution Ty. I had one query how can we apply the resolution to a specific project? Idea is to not to impact other projects
Is there a way to add a custom field in the resolved screen with pre-filled comments. This way the service desk user doenst have to type a comment, instead having pre-configured comments to chose from in a drop down field.
It was a valuable presentation. Can you please let me know how can a JIRA Note be marked as done once again when it has been already been marked from In Progress-->Done 19 hours ago.
When you transition out of Done, you need to update the post function for the transitions out from Done to clear the resolution. That way, whenever you move back to Done later, you can set the resolution again.
@@ApetechTechTutorials My concern was about my work. Wherein my customer support manager had marked a JIRA Note from In Progress-->Done 19 hours ago a day before. Next day she again changed the status of JIRA Note from Done-->Done. How is it possible when a JIRA Note marked as in progress to done be again marked from Done-->Done. I asked my colleagues also they tried every possible step but were not able to do it as mentioned above by me. Also my senior had even mentioned it that it was already marked as done a day before.
Thank you. Is this the same a someone asking to have the Set Resolution box checked for the status Resolved? I'm not finding this part and wanting to make sure it isn't a verbiage thing
@@ApetechTechTutorials do you already have a video on it? And thank you so much for your assistance. Always great content and help. Lifesaver with your videos
Could you please check this one. There are two 'Done' status in jira story , but when I checked the workflow, there's only one done status. Could you please clarify if there's a specific reason for this
Making the field required would have to be done at the workflow level. You don't want to make the field required using the field configuration because that would mean your issue would have to be resolved right when it's created . . .which doesn't make sense. Hi Alex, please all help in how to change a resolution from fixed to unresolved in Jira. Now when I have update the resolution screen for Done JIRA issues and when trying to reopen the transition is changed by the resolution type stays done only.
Hi ! Saw your viedeo but My issues are not getting striked when moved to Released/Done and showing resolved. Also, How to hide my done issues from Roadmap. (view setting : Hide completed issues of Epic selected but still showing up) Plz guide ! Thanks a ton
If your issues aren't being resolved, then that's probably why they are still showing up in your roadmap. You'll want to go to your workflow and select your transitions to Done. On that transition, add a post function to update the resolution to done.
@@mirialexeichick1438 If you use the standard workflow, it should resolve the issue automatically when you move to done. Otherwise, just add a post function on the transitions to done -> Update Issue Field -> Resolution -> done (or whatever other option you want here).
@@ApetechTechTutorials Thanks for very good material. I also strugling setting up the resolution on fresh new project in fresh new account. I wonder whether it is the issue with newer verison of JIRA(Would you be able to check is your video still valid if you setup a new project/account? - so it uses most recent version?). You would have to make sure your screens are only applied to your specific project and you should be fine.

The Set resolution is a little different. That just tells you which column is going to tell Jira to “resolve” the issue.

You basically have to do something similar to what I do in this video, but there is an option to clear a field. . . instead of setting the field.

Is it possible to only have some specific resolutions? And not all the ones from the resolution page?
No, these are global resolutions.
how to simplify the window of resolution?
My issue is in done column but it is not actually resolved.. Please can you help me resolve this?
Check your workflow. The Done status needs to have a post function to resolve the issue OR you follow the steps in this video.
@@ApetechTechTutorials hi, how do you create just the post function? i just want it to be closed without any option to select resolution option
