      Do it. Some Stevie is actually not so tough to learn.

    Great insight John! That space was where the drums accented, creating the groove along with the bass. And Stevie was all about the groove and playing in the pocket as we know. Thanks for the great lessons.

    John, Thank you sooo much, always liked playing that song. It is the little things that get overlooked in a song that you bring to the table that make all the difference...Thanks again.

    Hi Jon MacLennan, wow you got your 12 String Guitar strung up with Fresh Strings & it's ringing again.

    Octave4Plus makes 12 String Guitar Strings where the B Strings are in Octaves thanks to the .006 High B String. The High B (.006) is thinner than the High G so that way the tension wouldn't be too much.

    Nailed it John! Thanks so very much!
    I have a 12 string but need any help you can give me in tuning it in standard tuning. If you have the time I’d really appreciate a video lesson. I am subscribed so I should get notified. Thanks in advance

    Are you doing all down strokes through the whole song? I’m not an expert guitar player, so I’m
    learning to play songs from different TH-cam tutorials. I had been doing down up strokes because I thought that was how S.R.V. does it and I hadn’t noticed anyone do it differently. I was palm muting and kind of getting that choppy shuffle sound too but after watching you play it I think this way sounds better.
    Is this a song with 100% down picking?

  • @shinner65

    That’s pretty awesome. This song seems like it was written for a 12 string. Sounds so good. 👍🏻

      The original recording is originally on a 12

    • @shinner65
      @shinner65 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thec.i.a605 right…what I meant was that it just wouldn’t sound right played on a 6 string.

    Good stuff, Jon. You do good work.
    Sounds like he's sweeping. He's a sweeping guitar player, ie. a "feel" player. Not necessarrily someone playing on the down-stoke, - altough, probably capable of making it sound just the same either way.
    Any thoughts?

    Thats’s wrong. SRV strums down up down up. That’s his famous shuffle.
