@elbeaner6 excuse me jarhead but it seems the cannon fire has screwed up your head somehow. The USCG has been around LONGER then the Marines. and your silent drill team was trained back in the 1830s BY THE USCG SILENT DRILL TEAM. Semper Fidelis to your parent service marine.

@RaistlianMajerie go to the uscg website and look up honor guard then history... it was founded by an order of JFK in 1962.. quite a few yrs after the usmc silent drill team

@RaistlianMajerie and where did you happen to get this info? Also the USMC Silent Drill Platoon was first formed in 1948 as a one time deal... not in the 1830's. Also the Marines were established 10 November 1775 while the Coast Guard in 4 August 1790

There are two "CGJROTC" units in the US: one at a military school at the bottom of FL that is dedicated to oceanography and one in NC (or VA?).

contd...potato (or as we used to call it) patty cake spins. When you use the left over right method, your hands always stay in fron of you and they spin becomes more centralized. Most team members are taught this way because you can literally lock your elbows at your side and let your hands do all the work. I can only accredit his "almost" fail at 2:23 because of the way he spins.

*front of you and the spin (stupid typos)

It bothers me to see a first class in a chief uniform at the beginning of the vid. Or is that how they do it in the CG?

@elbeaner6 I want to point out that the 10th November thing is wrong that was a different Unit and was deactivated. Marine Corp decided to adopt that date because they shared the same marine term look up continental marines on wiki it describes that unit. I have respect for Marines before you get mad at me trying to straighten things out historical terms...yes it is okay to say marines were founded than but they weren't in reality more of a sister organization

This Drill Team KILLS the Army drill team (idk if thats a good thing or a bad thing) but this is pretty well organized.
I'd almost call it head to head with the Air Force and Marine Corp Drill Teams, but they're Drill teams were slightly more interesting.
    But this is Really Good.

"By the Ripples" was a slow, needed more quickness and snap in its precision. However, overall they looked fantastic!

    1. There were multiple flaws.
    2. They dont compare to the usmc drill by any means
    3. Semper fi

Honest opinion. This team is sharper then the USN team but does not have the sharpness of the USMC team or the Old Guard. They DO have some riskier stunts that they manage to pull off and their formations vary more often. What I DO NOT LIKE is the way the rifle inspector spins the rifle. He uses the right over left method instead of the left over right. Why does that matter? With the right over left, the riftle spins from one hand to the other. This makes it look like you are playing hot
