Seeing this performance from 154CM is shocking. 154CM is far from being a tough steel. The best conclusion I can draw is that anything can be super tough if you make it short and thick enough.
Great test here today! More and more I'm starting to see how blade design and geometry and impart success to these tests, perhaps at the expense of usability. I think a great steel / heat treat can allow a blade to be slightly more usable but still not sacrifice durability. The recent Messerfieber tests point to a good balance here I think. Can't wait to see them ship to USA!
Tops knife survive, what do you know? Tip broke perhaps it was because of the spine serrations I dont know. I dont like Tracker knives but this did perform very well, so its good. Thanks for another episode of Joe x show 😊
Hahaha, I bought a Tops only for the whistle, I throw the knife in a box, and I use the whistle every day. I'm very happy, a great whistle. Joe, you forgot to test it! I want to see if it is indestructible.
Joe is pretty dam strong to break the tip! Even tho this version of the tracker is barely smaller than the original. I bought the original TB Tracker instead of the SXB because of Joe. - I took the TBT to Idywild California and it survived work that made a K-Bar Kukri handle as loose as Karen's rotten UN-glory hole 😱 - The TBT also came in handy to chop branches out of bushes (edit* or thickets I meant) where your hand doesn't have much space to strike with bigger choppers and the weight is perfect to chop small branches off the bigger branch that you just chopped and to make spears (I just destroyed a possum hiding in my engine with a spear) - The lateral force impact resistance to use as a mallet seems to be very strong as well - The ergonomics to me seems like feather sticking would be more comfortable than the SXB but I still regret NOT getting the SXB instead for it's evidently higher self defense potential and more chopping power - However I cannot seem to sharpen the low sabre grind on the TBT with a ceramic file, so field sharpening would suck for me - I currently took the TBT out of my hiking repertoire for TOPS EL CHETE and or CONDOR PLAN A Bowie and the COLD STEEL SR-1 LITE - I give MUCH respect to Joe! --- I could have snapped my leg when I stumbled over a loose boulder at Idywild last spring but it miraculously rocked back the other way instead of collapsing on the side of my knee and pinning me to another rock --- so AMEN about JESUS saving our IRON RODS 👍🏼
The only Tops I have is a T2 Tracker. Carbon steel and a little smaller than this one. Was a present. Weird little knife. 154 cm is one of my favorite stainless steels. Did really good!
Great video Joe X! 👍🏻🔪. I have all the TOPS Tracker knives and this T-3 in 154cm steel is my favorite. I think it’s the best tracker yet, from TOPS Knives.
Hola. Tengo el tracker T-1 y el tracker T-3. Me gustan ambos pero siendo sincero creo que el mejor es T-1, ya que algo me dice el T-3 no le duro mas 10 minutos al bueno JoeX. Saludos.
It did surprisingly well, not fan of the design but hey whatever for a small blade it's ok. I was wondering if you would do a review on the condor terassaur, everyone says it's as good/better than the mora garberg and since the carbon version did extremely well i'm really curious about the result!
I have the Espada Large, but I worry that the XL has too much handle. Do you find the length of the XL handle to be bothersome, or can it become something you get used to?

Any time I’m thinking about buying a knife I always check for a JoeX test video first. Saved me plenty of money!

That‘ s what i allways think about that „wire-Breaker“ close to the Tip.
😉
@@conger34 t wont break any wire anyway so it's just BS design feature. It's no saw either

154 CM stainless, according to the internets. Surprisingly tough knife. Joe X gives credit where credit is due. But the brick had to get its revenge.
i knew it! stainless!!!
Seeing this performance from 154CM is shocking. 154CM is far from being a tough steel.

Tnx for another destructtest Joe X.
u are welcome my friend!
I was impressed for 18:30, but then JOE X stopped being nice to the knife.
it did ok!
JoeX tests knives so hard that if they survive it, you can easily show up to a gunfight with them!!!
yeah, hopefully!

tip brake was not so cool! but ok! it was abuse!
@@joex Ja doch, es war abuse. Gute messer overall.
Great video. Very cool looking knife. Not affordable to me even with the whistle.
yeah, that whistle is like gold for them!

I took the TBT to Idywild California and it survived work that made a K-Bar Kukri handle as loose as Karen's rotten UN-glory hole 😱
-
The TBT also came in handy to chop branches out of bushes (edit* or thickets I meant) where your hand doesn't have much space to strike with bigger choppers and the weight is perfect to chop small branches off the bigger branch that you just chopped and to make spears (I just destroyed a possum hiding in my engine with a spear)
-
The lateral force impact resistance to use as a mallet seems to be very strong as well
-
The ergonomics to me seems like feather sticking would be more comfortable than the SXB but I still regret NOT getting the SXB instead for it's evidently higher self defense potential and more chopping power
-
However I cannot seem to sharpen the low sabre grind on the TBT with a ceramic file, so field sharpening would suck for me
-
I currently took the TBT out of my hiking repertoire for TOPS EL CHETE and or CONDOR PLAN A Bowie and the COLD STEEL SR-1 LITE
-
I give MUCH respect to Joe! --- I could have snapped my leg when I stumbled over a loose boulder at Idywild last spring but it miraculously rocked back the other way instead of collapsing on the side of my knee and pinning me to another rock --- so AMEN about JESUS saving our IRON RODS 👍🏼

@QuantumPyrite_88.9 That sucks. Didn't hear about it. Interesting guy. Guess I'll have to watch "The Hunted" tonight.
I wanted to know if you think a kukri machete or a knife is better for chopping and what model you recommend?
it depends, i like machetes!
Always been interested in this blade design 🇦🇹 🇳🇿

What kind of wood is the unbatonable thing?
And where can I get some?
I think it would make a nice strong knife grip.
i think it is walnut! but i am not sure!
@@joex Amazing. I have never seen such tough walnut. I guess I have to stick to seasoned german oak for my next build.
Good job on the video
thanks

The 1095 tracker that you tested didn't break like that! Stainless def inferior to spring steel for toughness
ok!

If you are a small mammal, let's say under 5-10.
You may have issues with the XL.
I went with the Marauder serrated fixed blade. Best of both worlds, more blade and less handle.
