@Northax Yeah, I know about the F-15 Active and the X-31 at least, and the Su-57 is *too* close to the Raptor to not be heavily influenced by its design. If you've got any footage of Raptors or the others moving similarly, don't hesistate to send it my way - I'd love to see more of these supermaneuverability stuff.
As the saying goes every aircraft has speed, range, agility, performance.... And politics as they say. The su57 is a different kind of 5th gen aircraft. Maybe not as stealthy (the Americans only measure front aspect stealth and the Russians average all aspect steslth) as the f22 but for sure more advanced electronics as let's face it the f22 has not really been upgraded since the 1990s when computers were very very much slower. The f22 is a maintenance disaster. The su57 is also designed to be easy to live with. Take that pampered heated hangers of the f35 etc. Sensor fusion as Lockheed would say is the f35 killer feature... I recall the mig31 having active electronic scanned array radar Zaslon that could talk to other aircraft... That was in the 1980s. My view is for the money this plane is a bargain. For the same money you might get an f16 or f18 super hornet. Russia needs to keep this program going so it's going to offer it for sale. I understand Brazil is interested as is vietnam. China is a no-no because they will just want 2 copies so they can strip the engines and reverse engineer. Turkey want to build their own plane with British engines, French electronics and German machining. Yeeee. That ain't gonna get off the ground.
Roland Lawrence ... well first, the F-22 was first declared operational in 2005, its first combat mission was in 2014 when it successfully targeted and struck an ISIS command and control building in Syria. The first serial production of the SU-57 is to be delivered by the end of 2019 and it will still be without the Izdelye 30 engine which isn’t expected to be ready until 2025? So instead it will be using the Saturn AL-41 engine which is underpowered and won’t allow the SU-57 to super cruise, thus it will need to use afterburners to go supersonic ... destroying any pretense of being stealthy! As for maintenance, both jets use radar absorbent material to mask their radar signature and so the SU-57 will still be maintenance heavy to keep this coating in prime condition as normal wear and tear slowly degrades its effectiveness! Plus if they’re running underpowered engines in the SU-57 until 2025, you know that they are wearing those out faster from being overstressed!??
@@JimCOsd55 have you seen how many f22s are actually operational? It's not so many. Have you seen the sortie rates? It's about one a week. Make no mistake the f22 is an awesome but of engineering. Not all RAM coatings are the same. Sure the USA has a waaaaay bigger budget and the old Soviet times of spending 30% of gdp on the military are over. Russia has the realization of modernising a bit at a time. They have really struggled with carbon composite materials in the Su57. Also the next generation metals technology too is a problem. The engines will be late but it's not a deal breaker. Super cruise is nice but it turns out listening posts pick up booms very well. Over water even more so. The biggest problem the su57 has is that you can have an su35s tomorrow and that's a deadly machine to have. Big range, better EW, massive load out. Great IRST. Pretty affordable. Same price as an f16 block 60. It's also worth noting that many improvements from the Su57 are making their way into the su27 family.... It's by no means a dead end or horses arse.

No parachutes landing like in F15, F16, and up to 35? It's the flying rather than the landing that counts. Plus the numbers. Get a thousand of these instead of three.
@@hugiebessie4513 not just no parachute landing, but no-parachute arrester landing in such a short runway length, that's impressive for an aircraft of that size. Oh and F-16 use parachute landing-arrester, F-15 doesn't use parachute-arrester but they need a much longer length of the runway to land. F-35, on the other hand, possesses full thrust vectoring capability, the same thing that enables the Su-57 in the video to land in such short length of runway

@jet guy I believe that the condensation on top of the plane turning is at least as much due to the drop in air pressure as the drop in temperature, although the two are tightly related (PV=nRT).
Not at all true. It's more true that it is an indicator of how close to the limit of what the plane can do. Water vapor is NOT at all a good thing. Instead it is a huge energy loss (it takes a lot of energy to vaporize that amount of water from the air). Take JAS 39 Gripen for example, almost never any signs of water vapor but still pulling long 9 g frequently on shows. The Gripen is capable of pulling 12g (it's software limited to 12g).
First of all, thanks Airguardian for great vids, as always... This plane probably can do everything as SU-35 or at least 80-85% of SU-35's flight envelope. If anyone can fly this beast it's Sergei, this is "his" plane all the way! Thanks again, Airguardian!
Think about how many years they have been flying Flankers and how much time they had to find what is possible. The Su-57 is rather new, so I think they still have to find the true limits. I am sure next year the 57 will do some more tricks.
@@BlackPixxelDE Of course, but we all can agree that SU-57 is aerodynamically derivative of SU-27/35 with incorporated stealth and other "5th gen" technology. SU-57, is like the Ballerina of the Sky🧚♂️
now thats a display! great to see the su57 pulling some sweet moves. the turning degrees per second is quite something!
Yup!
The haters are going to get disappointed! :p
@ jim chavez + The only underpowered, over-stressed thing is your miniature brain.
Had the privilege of going to MAKS in 2015, though everything was great, the SU-57 & SU-35 where absolutely phenomenal! ❤️ to 🇷🇺 from 🇬🇧. Also highly recommend Monino, was love at first sight for me, absolute cold War heaven!!!!
+1 to everything you said, it's an amazing trip to make!
no parachutes at landing and he needed so short space to stop. now im impressed
No parachutes landing like in F15, F16, and up to 35? It's the flying rather than the landing that counts. Plus the numbers. Get a thousand of these instead of three.
@@hugiebessie4513 It will be.
Yeah now i know why its alpha was so high during touch down.

When you see water vapor over the air surfaces... you know that pilot is pulling heavy G's.
Not always true but usually a good indicator! (Sometimes clouds form just because of high speed and airfoil lowering pressure/temperature of the air).
@jet guy Cool! Thanks

@@BlackPixxelDE Of course, but we all can agree that SU-57 is aerodynamically derivative of SU-27/35 with incorporated stealth and other "5th gen" technology.
