    Well this is absolutely true...the part where they ask themselves, "is this the kind of person I would enjoy to work with...vibe it...have drinks" is mostly the deciding factor of whether they take you or not...I was interviewed for two roles, the same investment company...they just didn't like me or vibe with me...the first interview role...I didn't get they just referred me to a different role and set a new interview date...PS: I'm not a CFA holder yet...just a Postgraduate Economist... stopped by this video just to see if I do the CFA is worth a shot... honestly I'm going to try it out...

      Thanks for your question! I would talk to your school and ask for information about where its alumni are hired and companies that hire its students after graduation. This is the most relevant information to understand the answer to your question. Have a great day!

    What other skills are required for getting into investment banking

    • @ChalkBoardCFAPrep
      @ChalkBoardCFAPrep  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Internet is filled with current skills and interviewing advice on different investment banking job forums. It will depend on what role you seek. Different roles have different key skill sets. At the entry levels, you will develop many of these skills "on the job" so your ability to interview well is a key skill.

      That's a noble aspiration however there are educational requirements you will need to satisfy before you're eligible to sit for the exam. You can find them at help.cfainstitute.org/s/article/CFA-Program-Enrollment-Requirements

    Is the CFA good for a Sr Credit policy role, I already have 5 years credit analyst experience?

      Good question! The CFA designation can be good for your personal branding in such a role, yes. Feel free to reach out to Nathan if you have further questions, on his LinkedIn (see the description to this and other videos).

    Msc in finance at a top school vs cfa?

    • @ChalkBoardCFAPrep

      You'll learn more skills in the CFA program, but a top school will have an excellent recruiting department. It depends on what your situation and goals are.

    does CFA show that you can do the job? and what else shows that you can do the job? is it expensive MBA or is a degree in Business or Economics more prudent choice? and how else can you show your skills that ''you can do the job''?

    • @rossmaks2587
      @rossmaks2587 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know for sure why I want to work in IB or (PE in my case), but competition is very tough, and I am pretty sure that I can be the right fit, but I feel that I should improve the presentation of 'I can do the job part', how would you suggest to do it? in other words, I can manage to get the job at the interview, but how to get the interview?

      One place to start is visiting your local CFA society and beginning to network with your peers. Good luck!

      @@ChalkBoardCFAPrep thanks for the feedback, 100% networking is high ROI activity, however I do not have CFA, but I am actively networking and building relationships in other ways.
      From your experience do you think just a degree from a university in Business Economics + networking is a good starting point to land a job at PE, (to compare most of my peers who work in PE/IB did a business school on top of a degree, or have highly quantified degree such as engineering...) I am not so eager to spend money and time on a business school and would rather start working after university, however then chances are lower to getting a good starting job (due to competition);
      therefore do you think pursuing a 1)CFA can balance out the competition for me or it is indeed better to 2)spend time and money on a business school or 3) just start a medium rate corporate job, network, and work the way up from medium job to PE?
