    The points about adding the b5 and the maj3 to the minor pentatonic is money. Great ways to start "hearing" what you want to play without focusing too much on when you are "supposed" to play what. NO RULES! As always, thanks both for the fantastic content.

    Papa thank you for inviting Cory to the show. I used the link to try out Cory instructional lessons on Truefire. For me the way he explains chords and breaking them down or simplifying them, works for me. Cory, I will be trying out more of your lessons. Thank you both for you time. PRS guitar sounds good for the blues.

  • @koenroels4549
    @koenroels4549 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One thing: The basics about building chords. 1-3-5 first. Learn the Inversions: 3-5-1/5-1-3. Than the minor triads/ inversions, add the 7th / b7th, dominant 7the chords. Than extented major and minor chords (9/11/13). You can make 1 page on paper with the essentials of building chords. After that you will get in to blues/pop/jazz harmonie and than it will fall all at its place.

    • @soofitnsexy
      @soofitnsexy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      true but that is still very advanced for even many intermediate student...Corey was really just going beginer blues jazz phrasing here to intermediate..But yes chords and inversions are EVERYTHING

    • @koenroels4549
      @koenroels4549 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@soofitnsexy Got your point. The reason I say this is because I was a few years in the past realy stuck via youtube lessons without the basics in depth and after reading the jazz harmony in the berklee book of jazz harmony I had full acces to all the things a learned in bits and pieces over the last 10 years. So I was a bit shocked the lack of theorie holled me back of playing like i wanted for a few years.

      @@koenroels4549 oh yes! u must be great now! I did Berklee 1 and 2 years ago..Im now a teacher here in nyc...Harmony and really learning the neck via 5 positions and all the inversions...I gotta be honest with you THAT IS RARE...like 2% of the worlds guitarists actually know this stuff:)

    • @koenroels4549
      @koenroels4549 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      chris rocco Great that you became a teacher! I teach as well for 2 years know. Having the freedome to play what you want without thinking of harmony while you create was my goal. It just takes time to get there. You know the feeling I guess. You must be a great player!
