    One way to give gobbapalooza some value once they run out of things to buff; throw in a fanatic squad. As far as I can tell, it's entirely legal to throw 5 fanatics into Gobbapalooza, as they're a GIT unit with 5 or more models and don't have fanatic or squig keyword, means that turn 3 or 4 they can teleport themselves/advance up the board and release the fanatics to absolutely obliterate anything they want

    Loving these videos, thanks for making them. Its also really helpful to see the visual representation of how the list works when playing. Great content, can't wait to see what other combos you can find!

    How large is your own Gloomspite gitz army? I just started collecting the models and this video is a great resource to help collect the right ones

    The other idea I had was drop the sloggoth (-150) and swap the herd for hoppers. You can't hero phase move them, but they can recieve commands, importantly at the double and rally. Means they're moving 16 + d6, Then throw in a loonboss for all out attack and watch the mortal wounds fly, as 30 hoppers with 5 attacks each throw out a whopping 16.66 MWs on average, on top of the 33 wounds they would normally do with jaws. This is without +1 to wound from the mangler, and not counting the mortal wounds from movement, which they probably wouldn't get turn 1.
    The squad is a bit less durable for the cost, but can be rallied, have morale be auto-passed, and can get all out attack without investing in the ally. Plus the 150 you save pretty much equals the 45x3 extra the hoppers cost you.
    I also did the math, the extra attacks from the squigbosss is worse than the mortal wounds, at least for the squighoppers assuming you charged.

    Thanks for those strategies that a new player like me won't see. Hope I can test it out soon!

      it's a tough set of manouvres to carry out but will be highly rewarding when you do, for da bad moon!

  • @RavenCammenga

    Why you move 2 times before movement when u hav 1 squickbos for the move and 1 for the yellow lurker? I dont get it.

    Another suggestion: to have a fungoid with moonface mommet (12 inches range for a -1 save to an enemy unit at the beginning of combat phase) and tunnel master. It can be easily moved to range distance from a target enemy in order to apply the effect.

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that's a great shout! Moonface mommet is brutal, especially when you consider that a fungoid costs the same as purple sun hahaha

    Will you do a batrep to show this strategy in action?

  • @whatevergameing1117
    @whatevergameing1117 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can confirm, uses the squig bosses ability on turn one so the cave squigs got to move twice got into the bad moon so they could charge after advancing and has the 6’s mortal wound buff. Killed my opponent’s general on my first turn

    Great video! Quick question though, wouldn't this be even nastier on a unit of reinforced Boingrot Bounders? You'd only need to hero phase move them once since they're so much faster than Squig Herd, they get bonus attacks on both the squig's gob and the pokin' lance, and the lances are -2 rend 2 damage on the charge, so now -3 rend with 2 damage and sixes are mortals. Granted they'd be more expensive with less gob attacks than a huge unit of Squig Herd, but they naturally have 2 inch range on the lances, and they can fight right after a Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig fights too if he can get in.

      Unfortunately 'Release da Squigs' is keyworded specifically for squig herds, however I think a lotta lists might just run 1 36-squig herd that they alpha with and the second wave would be boingrots/hoppers in some combination that take the squigboss buffs round 2 - definitely great potential in those scrolls too

      @Pointy Ears Podcast Ooooh, didn't know that, thanks! I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on this battletome and do some theorycrafting!

      actually, yeah! if terrain is a factor in your games than that might be reeeeeeally powerful - good idea!

    I'd like to try the spiders part of the book. Are there any decent lists that heavily use the spider riders and big spiders?

  • @gnaleinad
    @gnaleinad ปีที่แล้ว

    This doesn't work because the Squig Herd needs to be wholly within 12" of a Squigboss for the pregame move.
    This video has mistaken the Mycophile's Pouch ability with the Released Da Squigs ability.

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว

      not at all, the combo works that you do the first move and then end it wholly within 12" of the second squigboss and then do a second move. As the max squig move in the hero phase is 11" it's not too difficult to keep them within that aura. The trick I was mentioning in the video is that even when you do a double move, you still need to leave that conga trail to a squigboss so as to get the yellow lurka, you might lose a few squigs that you coulda got to fight but yellow lurka is worth so much damage you should do it anyway.

    Isn't skragrott limited to kings gits ? But everything else looks awesome. Gits will be my 1st AOS army.

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว

      So Skrag is keyworded to King's gitz. Basically that stops him from benefitting from being in other subfactions (including, sadly, Badsnatchers) but does not prevent him from being taken with them

    When the squig herder uses the ability for the pregame doesn't one have to resolve before you can use the 2nd? Are they really cast simultaneously

    • @Murky-Murk
      @Murky-Murk ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He explained in the video how to go around that.

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah like my friend the scary scottish clown said, just do the first move but stay within range of the second squigboss (wholly within 12'). Then you can use the second squigboss' release da squigs afterwards

    • @gnaleinad

    Good Luck assembling and painting 64 squids

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว

      haha well for my personally I'm into spiders so all my squig herd are actually little spiders (which thankfully come in 1 piece so assembly's no bother)
      I have 1 set of the current squig herders and swapped the guy with the fishing rod's little mushroom bait for a giant fly hahaha

    Love this list, only issue I'm seeing is it won't fit in a 1 drop battalion so could be problematic against other alpha armies, stormcast dragons, pigs etc.

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so I have exactly the same line of thinking, I've recently been modifying this list a bit to drop one loonboss and do 1x36, 1x24 squig herd then drop the shootas for reinforced boingrots and that way you have a strong shot at the triumph and fit in a 1 drop. I also don't rate the malevolent moon as highly anymore, I've defaulted back to quicksilver swords which is a great power pair with scuttletide

  • @HotelAlex87
    @HotelAlex87 ปีที่แล้ว

    Skargrott has the king' s git keyword. You cant play him in Jaws of Mork

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      so having a different keyword just means he can't benefit from a different subfaction, you can still take him in any of the subfactions but he can't benefit from say badsnatchers for example

    Throw another 90 points at this Squigalanche and throw in a unit of Spoersplatter Fanatics to up the damage more

    • @pointyearspodcast2588
      @pointyearspodcast2588  ปีที่แล้ว

      problem with sporesplatters is they really struggle to keep up and then keep the herd in their aura, I reckon they pair better with trolls because that army is hardier/slower and because it's easier to fit the whole unit in their aura - also helps protect your unit from shooting for a whole turn!

    • @marcbenson1969
      @marcbenson1969 ปีที่แล้ว

      @pointyearspodcast2588 good points. Im working on Squigs at the moment. Usually play Troggs and Moonclan. So my experience is biased towards those subfactions.
