I think that my favorite thing about Offensive Bias' design is that you can clearly tell it was inspired by biblical angels. From the singular central eye, the myriad "wings" projecting from its back and the "vestments" hanging off it, it reminds me very much of interpretations of Thrones (those big eye angels with the wheels spinning around them) And considering the mythology of the Forerunners, both Bias role in it and the Judeau Christian analogs that was heavily present in Bungies interpretation of the Lore, I find it extremely appropriate.
As a fellow elite lover, the new floodlight update has added friendly elites. So now you can fight endless waves of flood while fighting alongside elites. They will respawn every time you reach a new round.

Who remembers the 3 red lights reflecting off of Chief's visor in the Halo Infinite trailers, that was never seen in the base game? With the new pictures of Offensive and Medicant Bias, this confirms that when we see this, it is NOT Offensive Bias. This means it's either a new AI, or it is Medicant Bias. ... Or it's just cut content that will never see the light of day.
I believe that we will see either Mendicant or Offensive Bias in future campaigns. Especially with the ending that leaves so many more possibilities. Plus, since 343 fixed the shit story they had for Halo 5 with Infinite, then they are free to go anywhere now. Imagine a new story involving the precursors and Offensive/Mendicant Bias being involved with the sins of their past. And now the Endless showing up in the story. So many new ideas to go off of and don’t forget the Flood being held in storage on the ring and the Banished. If 343 manage to mess up the story now I will be honestly bewildered.

I just hope we get to see the flood again soon.
It depends, precursors without their technology is effective the same as humans in man power wise so it wouldn’t be unreasonable for a precursor that has lost it’s technology and have been locked up for centuries to be defeated.
the common theory is the forerunners did not meet requirments to be reclaimers of the mantle so the precursors created the endless to be reclaimers. While the forerunners gave the mantle to hummanity while entrapping the endless out of spite against the precursors
I think it’s possible that renaming the Precursors as the Endless or Xalanyn solves a problem introduced in Halo 4, that the Forerunners called themselves Forerunners. Which is just silly since they were not the Forerunners of themselves, so the Xalanyn or Endless might be the Precursors’ name for themselves.
didn't they choose that name once the claimed the mantle with the intent to be the ones who create a great torch to pass on and thus lived with the idea in mind to handle the galaxy properly so that they will guide and uplift their very replacement.
In One of the Forerunner trilogy book it's said that they call themself "Forerunners" because they know (filosofically) that they aren't the goal of the life but a step of the evolution.
Seriously, the tease better pay off. I wasn't a fan of Infinite's story at all, but if it was hinting at the precursors appearing on screen for the first time, then I forgive the story a little.
@@jackcolson4745 Its weird, because I actually would have preferred they gave us another space opera story that made all or most Halo 5 characters return and the Endless and Created, as an army, actually fucking appeared.
I believe that we've actually already seen the gaunt in action during the first awakening the nightmare flood cut scene. We see it rolling around and strangling brutes . Glad we finally have a name to it.
An epitaph is quite literally the wording on a tombstone as well, I'm with you, Offensive Bias' design being based on that hologram pretty much confirms that as Mendicant's burial site.
I dont know if you knew this, but this book did confirm that the Meddlers were escaped Endless. As it makes mention that "Some Xalanyn avoided capture and traveled to other Ring Installations searching for a way to free their kind"
Since it’s highly likely that the xalanyn and precursors are related in some way, then the flood and xalanyn are as well. Maybe there’s something there that deals with xalanyn being immune to the flood.
Id go far enough to say that if the flood and xalanyn are related, I doubt the xalanyn would be immune as much as the flood would ignore them completely. Since the floods (precursor dust) original purpose was to return and take back the Galaxy. My reasoning is that the xalanyn are already precursor in nature and wouldnt need to be converted let alone a target at all.
Offensive Bias: "Master Chief! You son of a bitch!" **Chief and Offensive MANSHAKE** I know Chief has a rough history with Forerunner AIs, but I really hope he and Offensive become good friends

They are not. That would ruin everything about the precursors the precursors are supposed to be eldritch all knowing beings that completely transcend reality, they are the universe. If the harbinger is a precursor it would be soooo shitty
@@famousrapper8561To you. I think it would be genius. And to learn that the entire story we thought we knew about the precursors, flood, and forerunners was all farbricated to create a new truth. Real History itself reflects this too as we know events of the past were written by people and authors that changed events written down from what happened or details were changed to give future readers a false perspective
HiddenXperia, I don't know if anyone has covered this but you know those 7 weird ring statues found across Zeta Halo? Well there's a part of Silentium where the Didact describes a Precursor artefact on his home planet and the description seems exactly the same. This artefact actually starts shaking and making noises which alerts both Didacts to the fact the Flood are approaching their planet as Precursor artefacts are affected by the Flood.
I'm surprised how much I like the new lore for mendicant bias and offensive bias. I think 343 is doing a great job with tying the series lore together.
So the Endless and the Flood are essentially cousin-species? Considering they’re both likely made from the same Precursor dust, one corrupted and the other not so much, it seems as though these two species are distant family to each other.
I'm pretty sure the Gaunt at about 7:28 was the thing we saw in the Halo Wars 2 Awakening The Nightmare cutscene, the things that were rolling around the field and grabbing brutes
My theory is pretty far out there, but it’s that the Xalayn were the first to be created by the Precursors, and made in the image of/to be the original inheritors of the Mantle and the Precursors’ Tech. and that in they actually were the ones employed by the Forerunners to create the Halos with the knowledge they inherited and that’s why they were sealed away and not re-seeded. Maybe because the remaining Forerunners (under the Librarian) wanted the humans to inherit the mantle. It’s all possible as in a previous video, Luc said that all the information of that era was passed through the forerunners and they could have omitted and changed details. Edit: Rewatching the video, 21:35 supports my point in the first paragraph of the Xalanyn being the ones the build the Halos, “not the purpose prescribed by the forerunners” and “an end which only she knew.” just screams that the Endless have more ties to the Halos besides Forerunners imprisoning their species there.
I am pretty sure the lore offically states that the Precursors designated Humans to be the original inheritors of the Mantle. That's why the Forerunners went to war against them.
As we know that the Flood came from corrupted precursor DNA, what would happen to uncorrupted DNA? My theory, the xalanyn became the endless after being seeded by precursor DNA, this could explain the difference and similarities between the precursor designs and the endless, while also explaining their precursor-like powers and resistance to flood infection.
All those years, all those custom games, the amount of killtaculars…. All on top of them grave of one of the most influential AI in Halo history…. that’s so cool
It would be pretty cool to see the endless become incredibly arrogant and believe they can control the flood, only to then discover that the flood is much smarter and precursor in nature and the gravemind manipulates them (also precursors have different motivations and don't all have the same hatred the flood has. I think it would be so interesting to see the two attempt to manipulate eachother)
Yeah and for the Endless to eventually realize how incredibly outmatched they are by the Gravemind/Primordial, who has been manipulating people for millions of years. One my favourite moments in Infinite was the flashback when the UNSC arrives at Zeta Halo and Atriox appears to Cortana instead of Master Chief or Lasky. The moment Cortana realizes how badly she underestimated Atriox and how there's nothing she can do about it was so enjoyable (and it was a great way to salvage the disaster that was Halo 5's story and do something cool with it.)
Also you're right about the Precursors not all being the same as the Flood. The Flood are controlled by the consciousness of the Primordial after he uploaded his consciousness into the Flood becoming the Gravemind. Before that the Flood were like mindless beasts, never moving past the early stages of Flood evolution. And the Primordial is insane after watching the rest of his entire species wiped out and spending millions of years trapped on an asteroid.
An executor (eg-zec-utor) is a person named in a will who sorts out the estate of the person who's died(or installation 07 in this case). This could mean either a caretaker of the array post firing, or perhaps a reclaimer of sorts, not entirely clear.
They might have changed the Keymind lore because it too closely resembles Dead Space bretherin moons and considering Halo came out first they didn't want people thinking the flood are just a rip on necromorphs especially since 343 is clearly pushing for a "wider" audience Whether we want that or not is a different story.
Got on TH-cam after work today and all my favorite halo TH-camrs got unique and different updates for me to consume. This video, Kevin kool with the shop, mint with the leaks and Shawn with certain affinity. What a day
Man, now we just gotta wait for the DLCs. I really hope that the Endless truly are the Precursors, and I hope we get to work with them in the future to once and for all end the Flood… Or will we?
Wait wait spores can stay active for hundreds of thousands of years? I thought the point of Halo was that after all complex life had died the spores would be left to decay. Though it is probable that the spores need very specific conditions to survive that long.

While its so hype they've given him a form and bought this design back I hope this doesn't decanonise the guardian sentinels who previously were kinda in canon limbo. Especially with all the lack of, and the scattered bits of information we have its going to be amazing to watch the mysteries unfold.
I have a theory about the future of halo infinite’s story. There is good reason to believe that Cortana still exists in some way on zeta halo. They would not give a character that important an off screen death. My theory is that at some point in a campaign expansion, the weapon (new Cortana) is going to do something to bring back the real Cortana, likely through some sort of sacrifice that cures rampancy and the logic plague.
Lately I’ve been bummed on Halo due to state of Infinite, but this video really brought some good Halo vibes my way. Halo lore is so awesome man. I cannot wait for the next piece of campaign we get
We'd like a complete story. Not one that cuts out 95% of the exposition and vainly tries to set up an "epic" final confrontation in the next game FOR THE THIRD TIME IN A ROW.
So glad I found your channel! Years back, I would watch my late cousin play Halo for hours. I don’t really play games like this (the only game I can think of that’s similar, that I finished, is Bayonetta) and my cousin was so good it looked like I was watching a movie when he played. After he passed I lost track of what was going on in the story. Now that the show is out, I decided to jump on here to get caught up to date. I think I’m now on the 3rd video of yours and I’m loving it! I can hear in your voice how much you enjoy Halo. It’s infectious and makes me want to go get any and all books/comics of this saga… and of course, see more of your videos. Gotta see all of your takes on the show now!
I hope that if they put Offensive Bias into the game, they give him the most giga chad, cold, calculating, ruthless voice. Like the Vagyr Flagship from Homeworld 2.
Just dropping a line to say that I really dig your style of storytelling, I can feel the passion and the tone&pace of your narration are spot-on. Keep up the good work and I hope you do more of this kind of stuff even if Halo Infinite is a sad mess, it doesn't have to be in the Halo Universe. It could also be your own fiction, just throwing out ideas.
The Endless seem to have control over time whereas the Precursors had control over space. I would much rather see them being basically masters of each side of space-time, perhaps ancient enemies as apposed to being the one and the same. Wouldn't make sense for them to all have a consistent form as lore has established and nor would they be "more dangerous than the Flood" if they were Precursors. Precursors turning into the Flood may actually be much worse of a threat than the Precursors themselves if they decided to go on a rampage. The Endless don't seem as dangerous either but I will mention that the end of Infinite there is a time warp in the portal that not many have talked about. Perhaps adapted Endless tech the Forerunners used or maybe something The Weapon used calculations from with Forerunner slipspace for a fast escape, like Cortana taking the Autumn from Reach to 04 via coding on that artifact.
I... cannot express in words how much I'm glad 343 is returning to Bungie's legacy, not RELYING on it, but honoring it and BUILDING on it to make something amazing...
It still blows my mind that the TV show went way off the rails of true lore when there such a strong back story that can be talked about just by this single encyclopedia.
Amazing video @HiddenXperia been following you for a long time now & I’m extremely excited for the possibilities behind all this New Lore! I also find it insane that they’ve been hiding the look for Offensive Bias right beneath our noses!
i couldn't help but to feel the same excitement as you when you where talking about Offensive Bias, i mean THIS is what makes halo so special, the lore, the expanded universe and all it's mistery, why didn't we get a series with this kind of stories?
I think we have seen the Guants in Halo Wars 2 when the brutes were overwhelmed, cause we see flood forms that look just like them fighting just like how they take down the brute fireteam
It would be interesting if the endless were infact AI's themselves. Mechanical machines, with circuits and conduits, are very limited in the amount of sheer data they can store compared to what can be stored on biological material, such as DNA. If the precursors created complex life, then fully organic "smart AI" doesn't seem at all unlikely.
Considering how advanced the precursors were, shouldn’t advanced life and smart AI be essentially the same thing? They did seem to be interacting with the fabric of the universe in a fundamentally more intimate manner than even the forerunners. I’m kind of reminded of the divine machines in the Doom franchise .
@@richardiv385 NGL the first sight of Harbinger reminded me of Khan Makyr A kind of eldritch being that attempts to stop you from stopping their plans but the plans threaten humanity

Hear me out. At the end of the covenant, IF the sentinels are being controlled by Mendicant Bias, and Offensive Bias only has one eye, does that mean that in the trailer the 3 red lights is Mendicant Bias? Just a theory.
I think sentinels are just following containment protocol at the time. 2 levels later, instead of helping, they'll be shooting at you as you try to escape the ring. Doesn't really add up

What game is that in?
@@tereninsecundus6084 MCC got the flood firefight update. Some maps have 2 elites that spawn and some have marines/police troopers. If you enable the "boons" in the settings.
@@Lamp37820 I was playing on Crater (night) last night and on the last round of the set, the two elites respawned along with two extra elites toward the center of the map for 4 total. Pretty badass til they kick the bucket
Hopefully it's medicant
Or it could be Offensive Bias' proxy ancilla?
@@TacoLex Too bad they killed Cortana off screen and replaced her with a completely different character. plus playing 5 and then infinite it feels like there is a game skipped between them. halo 5 ended abruptly in the middle of chief doing something. and then we don't ever see it happen. we just hear about what sorta maybe happened. but after all that i still think they are headed in the right direction they just need to keep improving. I just hope we get to see the flood again soon.
@@TacoLex would be cool if you got to Goto war with the flood with mendicant bias and a bunch of sentinels.
I predict the endless are a lesser form of precursor since chief was able to defeat harbinger.
Yeah definitely, they won't be as powerful as the original Precursors but I'm 117% convinces the two are connected at this point
@@HiddenXperia yeah same
@@HiddenXperia Lol see what you’ve done there.
Nice to see you excited about something halo related again :)

Halo 4 is a good game.
Go back and read the books cause you know NOTHING, absolutely nothing
@Mister Majestic explain you're second point please.
This was a great way to make use of the old Guardian sentinel design
Thanks for the shoutout!! It was my pleasure assisting you and others with obtaining the new lore!
The Halo Encyclopedia has confirmed our deepest hopes.
Seriously, the tease better pay off. I wasn't a fan of Infinite's story at all, but if it was hinting at the precursors appearing on screen for the first time, then I forgive the story a little.
@@jackcolson4745 yeah, they focus too much on the trios. I hope the dlc focus on other characters as well.
Always thought those were mini abominations but this confirmation definitely cleared that up
An epitaph is quite literally the wording on a tombstone as well, I'm with you, Offensive Bias' design being based on that hologram pretty much confirms that as Mendicant's burial site.
I’m surprised he didn’t mention this in the video. Well done
Offensive Bias looks so awesome, has a matrix like design in terms of the sentinels. Love your lore videos too! 👍
I’m just getting huge Destiny vibes lol
one of my fav designs in the new saga
I love how clearly excited he is from that all caps title. Iconic
I dont know if you knew this, but this book did confirm that the Meddlers were escaped Endless. As it makes mention that "Some Xalanyn avoided capture and traveled to other Ring Installations searching for a way to free their kind"
Hopefully we get more of these Lore videos with the release of the Encyclopedia.
You son of a bitch!"
**Chief and Offensive MANSHAKE**
I know Chief has a rough history with Forerunner AIs, but I really hope he and Offensive become good friends
It seems the creators are making the Flood more bestial and demonic I can’t wait to see what they’re like in gameplay.
I wish even a fraction of the passion you evidently poured into this video had made it's way into the full release of Infinite. Props to you, and to the Halo community as a whole. At this point the community is the only thing keeping me even remotely invested in the franchise.
I have my encyclopaedia on order right now. I genuinely can’t wait.
Edit - I’m not going to watch this video right now since I want to see it with my own eyes.
Same, I can’t wait for mine to get in, this book is absolutely incredible
@@HiddenXperia I’m too tempted. I’m watching the video.
Where might I acquire this book?
@@mymanmark5726 I got it off Amazon. I’m not sure if anyone else sells it.
Which version did people buy? I like the look of the Deluxe edition but it's quite a jump in price so i was still considering whether it's worth the difference. In Canada I can get it from either Amazon or another retailer, Indigo, but it's a jump from $65.99 to $130.99 Cad before taxes.
I would like to say I was right about the Endless being Precursors. But man, seeing what Offensive bias looks like sent chills down my body.
Literally everybody said that though
They are not. That would ruin everything about the precursors the precursors are supposed to be eldritch all knowing beings that completely transcend reality, they are the universe. If the harbinger is a precursor it would be soooo shitty
Look at the primordial and then look at harbinger. Screw that shit
Just recently finished Infinite’s campaign excited to see the new lore
So the Endless and the Flood are essentially cousin-species? Considering they’re both likely made from the same Precursor dust, one corrupted and the other not so much, it seems as though these two species are distant family to each other.
Man, family reunions must be awkward
Halo wars 1 had such amazing flood forms and designs in general! Easily one of my favorite halo games.
Ahhhh yep, good catch, that's likely what it meant
They might have changed the Keymind lore because it too closely resembles Dead Space bretherin moons and considering Halo came out first they didn't want people thinking the flood are just a rip on necromorphs especially since 343 is clearly pushing for a "wider" audience
Whether we want that or not is a different story.
Got on TH-cam after work today and all my favorite halo TH-camrs got unique and different updates for me to consume. This video, Kevin kool with the shop, mint with the leaks and Shawn with certain affinity. What a day
Man, now we just gotta wait for the DLCs. I really hope that the Endless truly are the Precursors, and I hope we get to work with them in the future to once and for all end the Flood…
Or will we?
4:52 Nah, I play as the Flood immune Chad Johnson.
Wait wait spores can stay active for hundreds of thousands of years? I thought the point of Halo was that after all complex life had died the spores would be left to decay. Though it is probable that the spores need very specific conditions to survive that long.
Honestly I'm really excited for you and this channel in the months or years to come. I know Mendicant Bias and Offensive Bias are two characters that you really like and get giddy about. It's like the two things you want to see most. Now you're getting that opportunity and to be able to cover it. That's awesome 👌🏻
While its so hype they've given him a form and bought this design back I hope this doesn't decanonise the guardian sentinels who previously were kinda in canon limbo. I hope they explain it by satlying that he's using the housing of a decommissioned guardian rather than that design being offensive and offensive only.
I'm pretty sure those were never really canon and probably aren't ever going to be
canon after this
@@argo9721 I agree. Knowing Staten and his writing style, this was planned but took forever to execute cause of Microsoft
I loved the campaign of infinite, and it probably has the most replayablity in a game i have seen in a long time (three times through already and about to do LASO finally) I am so excited to see more content be added.
They killed cortana twice man leave off

Years back, I would watch my late cousin play Halo for hours. I don’t really play games like this (the only game I can think of that’s similar, that I finished, is Bayonetta) and my cousin was so good it looked like I was watching a movie when he played. After he passed I lost track of what was going on in the story. Now that the show is out, I decided to jump on here to get caught up to date. How do you think Offensive Bias and Mendicant Bias would compare to the Ai of the Culture from M Bank's Culture series?
Very exciting stuff! Thanks for taking the time to talk about this, dude!

In my eyes gravemind is the original voice of the primordial
Perhaps so, as afterall any Gravemind does have access to all of the Primordial's memories
Amazing video @HiddenXperia been following you for a long time now & I’m extremely excited for the possibilities behind all this New Lore! I also find it insane that they’ve been hiding the look for Offensive Bias right beneath our noses!

@@richardiv385 NGL the first sight of Harbinger reminded me of Khan Makyr

Literal goosebumps out of nowhere when I saw the reveal of Offensive Bias! Insane, I can’t wait for that DLC
The endless being precursors is actually the best outcome, hearing that the endless were worse than the flood didn't make sense given that to fight them they had erase all life in the universe
7:29 the Guant, is seen in Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare cutscene.
They engage the Banished when they breach High Charity.
I’d love to see the flood in an open world.
I think one of the pure forms you called new was the jumpy thing in the HW2 expansion cutscene that shoots it's tentacles out and wrapped around a brute arm
The one hope I have is that they don’t completely ditch the old precursor design.
2:09 Calling it, it would have Venom like spiked teeth and sharp barbs on its fingers as nails and on the claw arm
The only problem for me with the new flood forms is that none of them scream “Flood.” Theyre all just like exotic wildlife with the same color scheme to me.
Also the mission epitaph makes sense if it’s mendicants burial sight as an epitaph is a sentence that you put on a gravestone in memory of someone
Thanks for all the great content!
Thanks for watching and supporting king 👑
7:43 we saw those forms in Awakening the Nightmare, at least during the cutscenes, can’t remember if they were in gameplay or not
Keyminds seem a lot more sleek and formed than other flood. I wonder if it were to keep evolving would it look like its own alien race?
7:29 didn’t we see these flood forms in Halo Wars 2? Like in the cutscene when Voridus opens high charity
Doesn't really add up
@@Master__Chief117 Pretty sure those sentinels are tied to Installation 04, with Guilty Spark giving them a kill order when he turns on you, much like in the first game.
