She must be from Toronto...
Seems normal to me, born in Bracebridge early 70s
This IS how winter ALWAYS was as a kid.
Somedays we'd be stuck in the house, my dad would go out a window and pour boiling water on the door, so he could eventually get our doorway cleared from about 3 feet of snow.
We snowshoed to the school bus stop as a kid.
And most of January we were inside our homes, not looking forward to usung the outhouses 😉
the mayors books are arranged by the colour of the spine, which is utter madness and i can't pay attention to anything else.
The colors are nice, though!
jeeze, i noticed that but thought it was just me,
Yes but Heidi has always been obsessive
I noticed that too! Mine are arranged by topic and even in the order that a library does it. It makes sense since they are so easy to find because I am familiar with those numbers. I wonder if she chose the books only because of their color?
😂 ocd.
When I went to school I walked on an ice sheet a mile thick !
i walked through a snowstorm everyday uphill..
both ways going to school and coming home....
I did as well except for I have to go uphill both ways there and back
@@martymethuselah😂😂😂
I did all of that--barefoot.
@@ronmurray7349 😂
I walked to school and then walked on top of it back in the 90s in Winnipeg, that was a snow storm. This was every other winter month in Manitoba
oh come on, it's winter, this has always happened before1
our weather goes in cycles...looks like we're in the snowy cycle again
Correct, I'm born 8n Bracebridge early 70s, this WAS ALWAYS how our winter was then.
Normal to have 2.5 to 3 feet of snow.
Normal to have power outages and unfortunately Normal to be stuck indoors from Jan to mid Feb as a kid.
And we snowshoed in our community just off highway 11
It is not winter.
I am from Gravenhurst.... I miss those winters .
But but but Castreau told me if l pay carbon tax the weather would change. I don't get it...
You need at least a Grade 10 education to post something meaningful . Hint.
Is the carbon tax working, winter is back big time?
Nope - the opposite - this is the result of Arctic air traveling over warmer than Normal lakes according to meteorologists… if anyone still believes them.
You need to do a lot of reading.
@ I was just being facetious. Next time I will enter a disclaimer.
@@cherifbar lol
There will be heavier snowfalls going forward as the lakes warm. It is called the lake effect. Look it up.
I thought carbon tax would stop it from snowing
You will learn the truth when and if you graduate Grade 10.
We have experienced mild winters over the past number of years ..Although this snow fall is significant ,without question, in years past it was typical for the snow belt.
It isn't winter.
Unfortunately the town is now called graven hurts.
Fun in winter. After the snowstorm. Neighbours are out taking care of snowplow business and having coffee and chat outside. Life in Canada folks enjoy. 🥶
Normal
Nothing new.
Climate Change is new to some
Do you live in this particular town?
Snow is a four letter word…
Welcome to Canada winter happens
I guess the climate is changing and if every Canadian digs deep we can stop the climate from changing. Just give your money to Justin and the Liberals and they’ll make sure those funds are allocated properly. 😂😂😂
Climate change is not a joke but you are. Shameful!
There will be heavier snowfalls going forward as the lakes warm. It is called the lake effect. Look it up.
@@lanne-nl3jg Really? Is that was Winter 2023 was the warmest on record with mainly rain and a green Christmas. I live less less then 10 minutes from the lake, I wonder who that happened?
Fail Predictions: Kids will not know what snow is by the year 2000.
The Arctic will be water by 2008😂😂😂😂
@@JMcD500 Arctic sea ice this year was at its highest level for 20 years, and there has been no downward trend in the minimum since 2006.National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) number ,now makes 18 years of near-zero trend in September sea ice.
@@WilbertRobichaud poor polar bears….
@@WilbertRobichaudi think you need to learn how to read.
"TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2024
Arctic sea ice has likely reached its minimum extent for the year, at 4.28 million square kilometers (1.65 million square miles) on September 11, 2024, according to scientists at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) at the University of Colorado Boulder. The 2024 minimum is ranked seventh lowest in the 46-year satellite record. The last 18 years are the lowest 18 Arctic sea ice extents in the satellite record."
I think we can all agree in times like this. The old sane, it's better to have it and not need it. Then to need it and not have it. I hope everybody's Has a woodstove.
Must have been an ‘atmospheric avalanche’….
Ahhh the Climate Crisis!
FYI-this happens every winter in Alberta.
Climate change is not a joke but you are. Shameful!
Like the forest fires in summer?
@johnsummerhill8323 yep. With forests comes fires. Every summer.
@@BrewskiBarbarian Way worse in recent years. The hotter the earth gets, the greater the amount of fires. And the greater the size.
@johnsummerhill8323 but what is mostly at fault is the lack, in recent years, of proper forest management and stewardship, specifically pine beetle infestation and allowing dead trees to remain standing till mother nature cleans it up. Don’t believe me? Just ask anyone on the ground in Parks Canada, they’ll tell you what is real and what is ideology.
Maybe be better prepared!! You should have your trucks ready this is call winter !
Gravenhurst will work to abolish snow year round…Enough is too much!
Have fun stay home
How winters use to be in the 70s growing up in North Toronto. Late Nov, early December the dumps would begin.
Where is this footage from?!?!? I live in Gravenhurst and we have more than double what's shown also where are there bus shelters in Gravenhurst?!?!
I'm old and this is what it was like when I was young. Carbon is not a problem. Milankovitch cycle every 20 to 30 years. Mini ice ages every few hundred years and warming the same. We're going to be going into a mini ice age soon
On the west coast and I have not had real snow here in decades. Weather is mild here and if we get a sprinkling of snowflakes that actually stick to the ground for a day, it immediately rains and goes away. This year I think we are due for a big pile that might last a few weeks. Yippee because I am a Prepper and all stocked up on supplies for the winter.
That’s because the geography and climate are different on the Wet Coast. Basic grade 9 geography.
@@garywagner2466 Knew climate here was like that in Grade 6 when I moved here. No need to be snarky. Hope you get a lot of snow you have to shovel. LOL
There are likely only two plows assigned between Gravenhurst and Washago north of Orillia and MTO contract rules would forbid the contract company from putting more plows on that route. The two plows likely got overwelmed early in the storm. The company which I won't name is a large construction company and has a lot of heavy equipment sitting idle like graders, loaders, spare plows, etc. But that would require a meeting and haggling over putting that equipment out there. I know the idiocy I've been there.
This footage isn't even from our area....
There will be heavier snowfalls going forward as the lakes warm. It is called the lake effect. Look it up.
I almost froze to death in the 70s trying to get home from school. I was in skirts Roman Catholic and shoes no boots. I snuggled up by the Orangeville water tower had a clear drift swirl. It was dark by the time I got home. I should have went door to door until someone let me in to warm up. My walk to and from school was 3.2 km one way I could see the bus 7 houses from my folks but I was inside the walk zone and they refused to let me use the bus. I was about 70 pounds back then. It was horrible and struggling especially that winter.
Thick, were you?
You need to call in the army as Mel Latzman once requested😅
I'm half her age and I've seen this before.
What the heck!?!?😮😮😮
Quickly we need more canadian 20 dollar bills to stop climate change
Oh 27 year soooo long and
Wow
They can keep it😂
All
Oh, that darn warming climate … where is it when you need it!!!
Hey Trudeau and Steven with your carbon tax and green slush fund of 8 billion guess it's not changing the weather in the 60s we used to skate on the roads the trees were weighted down from the snow and that was in the city of Scarborough not up north and the schools were never canceled😂
Most (80%) Canadians received a rebate that is higher than what they paid in carbon tax.
Meaning it is a Robin Hood tax that takes from those living in mega-msnsions and gives o the middle class.
Exact evidence of climate change.
Oh please.... I delivered newspapers during the blizzard of 77. Made a lot of money shovelling too!!!! Then went tobagganing!!!!! Quit yer cryin
Kids these days don't shovel snow.
It's a shame me and my friends used to make a fortune getting together and shoveling drives and walks.
We had crappy boots and coats back then, too. No thermal insulation or waterproof anything.
I remember living in TO back in the late eighties early 90"s had a storm come up from down east I walked over to the other building to a store it was waste deep I live in Barrie now I remember a massive storm opened garage door it was almost 5 ft nothing new
The blizzard of 77 was a cakewalk compared to this mess.
Where is Gravenhurst?
Oh no u got snow ..lol. boo hoo....she call state of emergency if she burned her cupcakes
