This had Chairman, Owner, and CEO Andy Muller Jr. at the throttle as he was in charge of this move. He’s very happy to have his T-1 locomotive back in operation since it sat in idle for thirty one years.
@@the_darkgameryt he's been running her since 1990. I remember him learning it was quite comical.😁 But he learned from one of the best a Real Reading Co engineer!😊
Great it was put back in action and Andy's was able to run it. My wife and I rode behind it in the 80s when Andy first bought it and are also happy to be able to ride behind it again last year. Great video. I hadn't seen this one before.
Nice! What is great about this is (1) Only blowing whistle for crossings and (2) Not over firing to make smoke just for show. On too many steam trips, other operators just lay on the whistle non-stop and make as much smoke as possible (Yes, Ross Rowland I am talking about you).
Fabulous footage. I will never tire of seeing this locomotive run. They did a great job on it. Does anybody know if they will put a passenger style chime whistle on it for excursions?
Was the 2102 pulling empties? I saw a video where it pulled 100 empty cars for a drop off, and pulled 50 loaded cars back in reverse. Still quite a feat for a single locomotive to pull as many as 50 cars, as even the empties have their weight to them. It’s just a true testament to the strength of American locomotives.
Hey James, sorry to bring this up, but a TH-camr named "MLPT&F" stole your shot at 5:27 for a video called "Tribute to Reading & Northern 2102". FAIR WARNING: Please take caution when viewing his channel as there's some nasty stuff on there.
Does the 2102 still have a trailing truck booster like the 2101 did for the Chessie Steam Special trips? Looks like it may at 5:40 since steam is coming from the rear trailing truck area.
2100 will surely happen, but I dont see 2124 ever happening. Steamtown and Andy have quite the beef going on. Part of it being that apparently when last approached to bring the 425 to the park he was informed that only park personnel would be allowed to operated it while on the property or any contracted excursions.

Awesome video of T-1 2102! I like the fact that Owner Andy Muller Jr. was at the throttle!
Yeah. That’s what I said too. He was really happy to have his locomotive back in operation once again.
What a beast she is!

This is something too many are guilty of. Lay off the whistle and keep a clear stack. I want to hear it labor not someone trying to play a tune.
This steam locomotive is amazing!
“You don’t need music, You can just listen to the whistle blowing and the rails hissing.”
All locomotives have a voice of a whistle!
Nice preview.
Great video, phenomenal that sound of the steam locomotive when starting. Excellently filmed. 👍👍👍👍🎥😍
Extremely interesting and amazing to see in operation and use
Wow Very nice steam Locomotive I love it
Former Reading T-1 4-8-4 #2102 is back in action.
I love trains and watching them
She's a beauty!
Excellent.
This makes my soul very happy, glad to see a big 4-8-4 doing her thing

It will have whatever Andy puts on it. The Hooter is accurate for the engine.

Am I the only one who thinks 2102 deserves a Reading 6 chime?
I think it has one, but the freight whistle was appropriator for this run.
@@1940limitedit has two, both this hooter and a 6-chime. They use the hooter for freight, and the 6-chime for passenger
AWESOME!!

Thanks for letting me know

Yes, it has the booster and it's operable.
Красавец!
I love it 👌
Wish 2102 can reunite with 2100 or 2124 one day!

Leave it to government to screw things up. @@HaddaClu
That scene from Tamaqua looks familiar to me 😀
Very deafening!

Indonesia 1933 🇮🇩
Old-fashioned trains
I wonder if those coal cars were loaded
Muy buenos videos y gracias por el mantenimiento a locomotoras que son patrimonio e hicieron historia waldemar desde URUGUAY
Impressive
this is awesome! were the hoppers loaded?
No, empties heading back to the mine.
I need a cigarette after that
