So good to see you! I just finished a little piece for a pillow on 36 count linen and thought I was going to lose my mind, not to mention my eyesight! I’m blown away that your preference is that itty-bitty, teenie-tiny thread count, and your stitches are SO beautiful! My hat is off to you. I stitched those “Tis the season” trees for a pillow and gave it to a friend for Christmas. I also left the words off. Great minds!! I loved it and secretly wanted yo keep it for myself when I was finished, but I didn’t. I’ll just stitch it again for Christmas 2024! Hope your holidays were happy ones!

Love your enthusiasm. Keep it coming. I loved some of your advice about only doing what your budget allows. Some just have so much haul and so many retreats. The average stitcher just can’t and shouldn’t try to keep up with that.

Liz, you be you and do what makes you happy! Talking about Christmas trees - there is actually a farm in my town that had to post a sign stating they won't have trees this year to sell because there is a shortage and the prices are outrageous! Why don't you try washing that piece of Hawthorn Fabric in vinegar and Dawn? (you have nothing to lose). Loved seeing your previous finishes and your antique finds are truly amazing!

Must admit that your voice sometimes irritates me, but your tiny stitching is right up my alley!! I stitch 1/1 usually on 25 count but have been inspired by other Instagrammers to stitch tinier! So my first attempt was 1/1 on 46 count, doing the Colorado Cross Stitchers Itty Bitty Bristol pendant - so I stitched 5! Loved seeing your tiny pieces!
Well thanks a lot, Liz! I had seen the trees by Needle Treasures Nook before and took a picture for my "ideas" album on my phone. But seeing yours stitched, I like it even more. So of course one then had to check out her Etsy shop, and now there are so many more I MUST get. The one with the family of foxes, other winter ones and I see that she did pumpkins similar to the trees. So I thank you, but my checkbook does not.
I can’t believe people would tell you that they didn’t like your floss tube. I’m so sorry. Do not listen to the negativity. Some people just can’t be pleased. Everyone always says stitchers are beautiful people….but there’s always bad apples.

There are no rules. I just pick what I like, and go with it. I usually stay close to what is called for, but just lick different shades of that color I prefer more. Thanks for watching!!

I so want a real tree but my husband doesn't like the potential mess. We live in Australia and they aren't that popular here. But I have a question, how long do they normally last? My daughter and I would love to get one.

And I also share the same color palette you do your such an inspiration for me. And I’m with you on just doing what you can on a budget. I’m on a fixed income so I don’t have much stash but trying to build on it. I’ve only been stitching about a year now started with 14 ct. Aida then 28 ct. lugana now I’m on 36ct. Linen and loving it. I’ve been following you even back when you was with Shellie and I can appreciate that you have to do what you need to for yourself. So keep going your doing Awesome !!

Hi Liz! You sure have been busy with all of the great finishes and fun WIP’s!! I love all of your smalls! I have many of the ones you showed, and need to do more smalls! That is what I think I am going to concentrate on in 2024. I don’t normally do the things like 12x12 or 24 in 24, but perhaps I’ll try this year! I have accumulated too much stash and therefore, I am trying very hard to stitch what I have, or be very intentional about purchasing anything until I stitch up what I already have! We use to have a real tree but my daughter was allergic so we have artificial. I have seen vehicles with smaller trees this year, I told my husband either the trees are small this year or expensive!

So happy to hear from you today. I am learning how to punch needle too so I must purchase the ornaments (small and doable). I ordered a shepherds bush stocking chart, waiting to stitch on 40 or 46 count linen. I love yours so much and may have to stitch more than one. Parker stocking is what I bought as I love snowmen. You had a lot of enabling for me this video. Take care of you and don’t listen to the negative people. When someone has to point out their dislikes for someone, they are struggling with their own life. Happy holidays.

Sorry people don’t know how to be nice I don’t understand what is the purpose of telling someone you’ve never met or interacted with IRL that you don’t like them. We used to cut our trees too but they are so expensive and hard to find the type we like near us. This is our first year with an artificial tree. We are starting small and cheap just in case the cat gets into it or we end up not liking it. Happy Holidays!
So very glad to see you this evening. I hear you. At the age of 75 and only cross stitching for a couple of years I sure went over board buying at the beginning. Now I am settling down and being more mindful of what I really want to stitch. Of course I select from my huge resource center here at home. Almost everything I kitted up when I purchased the chart, so it’s like a “Candy Store”. Once in a while I will change my mind on fabric count but only if I really think about it first. I can so relate to you with your brain not being willing to stitch the deer sideways! The very first cross stitch that I did was a small Blackbird Design that had several acorns on it. One of them was on its side so I just turned my hoop a 1/4 turn and stitched it like the others. Needless to say the stitches are oriented wrong, but I love it anyway!😅 Great video!

As far as my Primrose quaker I have 2 in mind. I want a deeper richer red, so if I do silks I will use Dinky Dye’s Shades of Wine, and if I go for over dyed cotton I will use either Weeks Indian Summer or Merlot.
