The first time I heard Baby Rose was at an Ari Lennox concert that she opened and I remember looking at my sister like ”what was that?!?” she's so special!
Omg I was there too in Toronto! I'm so proud of how far she's come so quickly. I was in awe of her voice back then. I low-key wanna keep her All To Myself lol
I've been a fan for a few months and still don't understand. Her voice is so unique, like somehow early 1900s vocal patterns were reincarnated in her larynx.
I heard her on the Dreamville song "Self Love" and immediately became entranced... Her voice is so distinct and beautiful; almost like it tugs directly at your heart.
The beginning music pulled me in. When she began to sing, I couldn't believe that was her voice. It's uniqueness is definitely a draw in for the listening. The music is like a big band jazzy with a in the sun poolside vibe. That last song had a familiar rhythm of a gospel song with a H.E.R flavor. I've never heard of this artist before. Thank you Tiny Desk as always.
Her voice is so rich and classic. Her vibe is so cool...all her own. She’s definitely consistently improving, she did an excellent job at staying in sync and on key with the band, especially considering the stretch, vocal range, and sheer power of her voice. Her voice definitely makes me think of the greats like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and even Maya Angelou...they all had such unique powerful voices. In an industry so over saturated with pop it’s high key refreshing to hear a voice like this. All in all...I’d say her future is as bright as the red jacket she’s wearing.
Voice so heavy yet sweetly rich with a gutteral sultry that baffles my ears. Confused, observing crimson lips in motion as the back of her throat serenades me.. Love it. Hate it. Then love it again. Who dis Woman? No matter. Don't stop!
I LOVE her voice and musical style! Reminds me of Macy Gray and Nina Simone. Yes Baby Rose!!!! I see you!!! 🥀 😍💕 can’t wait for you to come to the bay!!!
Sounds even better live than she does on record. I am officially a fan! Shout out to Big K.R.I.T. for putting me on to Baby Rose from his track "Everytime"
Love it! Baby Rose's voice is reminiscent of Nina for real! Just so soulful. Been ready for something else since Self Love off Dreamville! Sends chills!! Keep rockin', Queen
i love this woman. Her music is like a warm hug after feeling lonely and crying about sorrows. even if her songs are about failed love and feeling isolates they make you feel more identified. all to myself is my favorite.
Her voice gives me chills...in the best way possible. Her vibe is her own but reminiscent of Nina/Amy with a cool hip hop twist. Now it's a must that I hear more of her work. 💎💎💎
i’ve been obsessed with her music for the past few months. her voice is so unique, it’s something i’ve never heard before. this album is a masterpiece. i wish ppl would stop sleeping on her.
I heard “Show You” in the car yesterday and thought it was a song from the 70’s--I was like dayyyyuuummm whooo’s this and waited for them to say who it was. Baby Rose, guuurrrllllll 2020 needs you
2:14 that violin is just incredible it fits sooooo perfectly I’ve never heard anything like that and backvocals at 4:50 just perfectttt everything about this performance is. Everytime I listen to this it is just a beautiful journey with so many emotions wow really just wow a MASTERPIECE
The first time I heard her voice I thought it was a old remixed song for a TV show. Blew my mind when I saw her face. I'm hooked all the way on Baby Rose. Mad that her music been out for a year and I've was missing it.
My story: I djayed at a small lounge in Brooklyn one day and after the event they switched to Spotify… so I’m packing up and “Mortal” comes on. Stopped me dead in my tracks. I Shazamed it… I must have listened to it 100 times on repeat. Did my googles and found she was performing in Philly… drove all the way there solo.. I was blown away!! She performed a couple of days later in NYC… I got to see her and meet her and tell her how great she was and how great I thought she’d be. Several shows and albums later and she still is!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You are so beautifully amazing and bazaar Baby Rose. Lol, and I do mean that in the most flattering sense. One of your Top 25 fans right here! So glad that NPR put you on! Congrats!
Argued with my friend- he said that song by that dude, I said no that's a deep spiritual rooted woman. We both love your song- show you. Thanks SiriusXM's for show casing this new artist. Simply beautiful
I clicked on the link, minimized the window and went back to work, then I heard her voice. At that moment before I even opened the window again , I knew this voice, rather instrument is going to be one of the most important voices of my lifetime. Amazing, soulful and beautifully different. Thank you NPR.
Wow.... Music is supposed to move you and if you're not moved by All To Myself you must live in hole in the ground.... It's not just her unique voice it's the energy, the pain, the love, the invite into her heart that has me in tears by the end of that song.... Baby Rose thank you for rescuing music!!!
My favorite song that caused me to fall in love with her voice was mortal. I somehow ended up there courtesy of the show Power. I love this song and I love the live version even more. All of these instruments have enriched the songs so much I can’t wait to see her live!

She has a style perfect for a James Bond movie soundtrack. Reminiscent of Dame Shirley Bassey
